I don't limit myself to ONLY sentries, but it's one of my preferred subclasses. You can end up as a gear tab that summons six sentries and five minions. This makes the Old One's army quite amusing, because you can put non-Dungeon Defender sentries on the portals, guard the crystal by just idling on it with your minions, AND summon Dungeon Defender sentries throughout the event on top of that. Give yourself any sort of weapon, and you're golden. Notably, the two Moon Lord sentries are immense overkill with this build, easily doing 8000 or more damage a second while you sit safely in your house.

I’m creating my own AIW and I’m adding a area that has classes but some classes are going to be extremely weird that no one would ever use, like justo height/speed, movement speed, dodging, just really weird stuff but it’s been so fun making them
I’m not entirely sure what class I lean towards. Pre hard mode I always go for Nights Edge, Sunfury, Demon Scythe, Minishark and Imp Staff, and usually Molten Armor. Then into hard mode I try to get the True Nights Edge and Excalibur, I try to get the Megashark and I try to get the Optic Staff. Then after Plantera I go for the Terra Blade.
it's honestly really strange how the hardmode ore armors are so pointless outside of adamantite/titanium getting to the next tier is always such a quick process that there's never any point in making them outside of journeymode research
I’m currently doing a dark summoner/Druid theme. So most everything I use is nature or animal based. But also I’m using evil/ morally monstrous mixed in. So I have the moon charm so I tune into a werewolf at night. I’m using the spinal tap. And I’m wearing the bee armor and using the bee hornet staff and finch staff. Currently working on getting the imp staff. I’m also crafting the timeless traveler cosmetic armor. Because it looks badass and fits the vibe. So yeah my melee weapons are dark themed and I have animals galore. Oh and of course I have the bee gun on at all times. Just for shits and giggles and because there’s an achievement called not the bees which I found hilarious enough to keep it on. Oh also when I’m not using the spinal tap I’m using the dark lance and that darkness sword that you upgrade from the murasama or whatever that katana looking sword is.

there are some more subclasses you can opt into at later satges or opt out of when entering hardmode: rocket launchers - bees - explosives - nothing (armor and a accesory that deal damage for you) - staffs/rods - true melee
so every subclass is basically: - grind for a weapon early-game - use weapon to kill early bosses -occasional dungeon farming - get something from the underworld that helps beat the wall of flesh - kill destroyer - occasional dungeon farming - craft overpowered weapon that carries you past cultist - breeze through pillars and maybe craft something with shards - moon lord’s easily killed
I feel like there should mixed classes. For instance the old throwing class being a mix of melee and ranged. Then you have whips which are summoner and melee, potentially have melee based summons that don’t attack but instead give you buffs.
once there were technically 6 classes in the game but it got removed it was the throwing class and got removed in 1.4 and all it’s weapons are now ranged weapons which meant there was melee, ranger, mage, summoner, throwing and anything
Imagine being a literal GOD and being so powerful that the best mages have to seal you in the moon with lunar creatures, and then a boy just pulls a yoyo out of his inventory and kills you because he wants a shiny yoyo
About the spell book only subclass, I always check the books at the entrance of the dungeon very early in the game for it is possible to get the water bolt spell without triggering uber-skeletron.
Essentially Bow and Boomerang are basically just ranged builds that use bow and arrows instead of bullets and guns. And Melee builds that use throwing melee weapons instead of swords.
my chronically online friend helped me get through my first full playthrough of terraria, and taught me basically everything he knew about the game. I was drawn to the mage class so he helped me with managing armor and figuring out what weapons i should look for while he took on the summoner class. he said if i ever wanted to learn how to work with different classes then he would help me out with other playthroughs since i'm still pretty bad at the game. the best part about all this is that he taught me in a linear kind of way, keeping everything just a little bit in the dark and letting me explore the game while he guided me in the general direction (like building a long platform bridge and carrying around a voodoo doll, then handing it to me and telling me to throw it into the lava without telling me exactly what was going to happen, but also giving me enough backup to take down the wall of flesh myself) we all need a chronically online friend in our lives (he also helped me 100% a few other games too lol, even the singleplayer ones and sat with me in a voicecall while trying to get certain rng achievements)
I think flails are more feasible than you gave them credit for. Probably second to bows. I really don't think there are any gaps, certainly far less egregious than the shotguns and spell books. Pre-hardmode has 5 flails which makes for a satisfying gradual progression. Then in hard mode you didn't even mention the drippler crippler, with very high base power and a decent projectile. If you count launched flails, which you do since you included flairon, there are 5 more options in hardmode which is more than enough for a well rounded subclass playthrough.
I'm not too interested in what you're saying because I've found what I like and seen what weird builds people do but the way you narrate and the music you have on is so captivating. Good job man

You should try this kind of stuff with Calamity cause it adds a lot of items in subclasses that vanilla doesn't have
Ah yes the all powerful hellwing bow can be crafted with hell stone
Seeing the dragon armor respite filled me with hope for its return
it's honestly really strange how the hardmode ore armors are so pointless outside of adamantite/titanium
getting to the next tier is always such a quick process that there's never any point in making them outside of journeymode research
although i'm not really sure where the dragon armor could fit in at this point
@@fortnitesexman I mean most have useful buffs if you mix and match armor
@@fortnitesexman I usually mix cobalt and mythrail to make really good critical chance setups
The game: choose a class to start your journey
Me: *uses every classes in game to get rid of bosses*
THE WAY HE SAID CRAFT THE HELLWING BOW. IM GONNA BOIL MYSELF
I’m curious, did you see my sentries only video before you made this? Because what you described is the exact progression I followed
Thought that too lol
Yeah I did, was a huge help I didn’t think it would even be possible when first looking at it. I’ll add a link to ur video in the description
@@Yerdsteili appreciate you linking my video, but I gotta say it’s a bit shitty that you didn’t credit me in the first place. A lot of time went into that video and to have a larger channel take it without credit is pretty disappointing. In future if you’re gonna take someone else’s work like that you should really credit them, preferably in the video itself
@@ChiefLogan_ Hey bro I just watched your whole video and I got to admit I did mess up pretty bad there. I'm guessing the playthrough took around a month at least which doesn't include editing. I used your video as a source and it's a moral standard to give credit but I broke that and messed up. I put some info cards and end screen things to try and send people to your video but that's definitely not enough. I'm very open to giving a shoutout in my next video, and I'm really sorry. I am disappointed too.
@@Yerdsteil props to you for admitting a mistake, and don’t worry about giving me a shoutout, I’m happy to forget this and move on :)
Everyone gangsta til this man recites a poem of woe and hardship inspired by his dreadful, prolonged experiences with yoyos.
there are some more subclasses you can opt into at later satges or opt out of when entering hardmode:
rocket launchers
- bees
- explosives
- nothing (armor and a accesory that deal damage for you)
- staffs/rods
- true melee
traps
Almost all of my playthroughs (solo or otherwise) ive played with yoyos. Or as i like to call it, "LMB and Point"
Yoyo best weapon.
Ah yes hellwing 0:32
so every subclass is basically:
- grind for a weapon early-game
- use weapon to kill early bosses
-occasional dungeon farming
- get something from the underworld that helps beat the wall of flesh
- kill destroyer
- occasional dungeon farming
- craft overpowered weapon that carries you past cultist
- breeze through pillars and maybe craft something with shards
- moon lord’s easily killed
the hardest part about the sentry subclass is having to do the old ones army
and not die of boredom*
I feel like there should mixed classes. For instance the old throwing class being a mix of melee and ranged. Then you have whips which are summoner and melee, potentially have melee based summons that don’t attack but instead give you buffs.
once there were technically 6 classes in the game but it got removed
it was the throwing class and got removed in 1.4 and all it’s weapons are now ranged weapons
which meant there was melee, ranger, mage, summoner, throwing and anything
i find it funny that a big funny fish holds the maximum power for half of these subclasses
"In the post plantera dungeon, paladins can spawn and they hold a key to your next upgrade... The bbq ribs."
"Armed with the North Pole, face off against Moon Lord"
Daybreak: "Am I a joke to you?"
That's not a spear, it's a javelin.
Sentries only was pretty fun as we built custom buildings and other things

Bruh this is a c=hild friendly website 💀
for flails the drippler crippler is an alternative for early hardmode
4:44 he has infinite platinum this is a fake video.
It’s like a story video and I think he’s in journey
@@PixelDonkey456 OH lamo im older now so hopefully no r/woosh
Im fairly sure he isn't in journey

Imagine being a literal GOD and being so powerful that the best mages have to seal you in the moon with lunar creatures, and then a boy just pulls a yoyo out of his inventory and kills you because he wants a shiny yoyo
About the spell book only subclass, I always check the books at the entrance of the dungeon very early in the game for it is possible to get the water bolt spell without triggering uber-skeletron.
pretty sure they fixed that, outside of complete shenaniganary like clipping into the dungeon from the side and speed picking it up
Essentially Bow and Boomerang are basically just ranged builds that use bow and arrows instead of bullets and guns. And Melee builds that use throwing melee weapons instead of swords.
He says every boss is a breeze with these new items.
Don’t forget this man had to make the world classic to record this.
my chronically online friend helped me get through my first full playthrough of terraria, and taught me basically everything he knew about the game. I was drawn to the mage class so he helped me with managing armor and figuring out what weapons i should look for while he took on the summoner class. he said if i ever wanted to learn how to work with different classes then he would help me out with other playthroughs since i'm still pretty bad at the game. the best part about all this is that he taught me in a linear kind of way, keeping everything just a little bit in the dark and letting me explore the game while he guided me in the general direction (like building a long platform bridge and carrying around a voodoo doll, then handing it to me and telling me to throw it into the lava without telling me exactly what was going to happen, but also giving me enough backup to take down the wall of flesh myself)
we all need a chronically online friend in our lives
(he also helped me 100% a few other games too lol, even the singleplayer ones and sat with me in a voicecall while trying to get certain rng achievements)
Love how heavy his breathing is by the end. Bro went through hell
Ngl tho for boomerang class, getting the thorn chakram might be a bigger payoff then trying to get a trimerang
boomerangs, whips, and sentries seem like pretty good challenges and builds.
How to make classes more fun: Make your own imaginary classes
“The demon scythe is the only weapon available before fighting bosses” unless I’m mistaken, can’t you get one from the dungeon?
he forgot the destructive class where you can only use weapons that change the environment like rocket 2 and bombs
If you count launched flails, which you do since you included flairon, there are 5 more options in hardmode which is more than enough for a well rounded subclass playthrough.
> supposedly new character ventuing into hell
> drops 8 platinum on death
I'm not too interested in what you're saying because I've found what I like and seen what weird builds people do but the way you narrate and the music you have on is so captivating. Good job man
Why did this man consistently keep forgetting that there are other pre-hardmode bosses than eye of Cthulhu, brain/eater, and wall of flesh?
because those are the only mandatory ones
@@DylanGray-rp4nt No, with the exception of WoF, none of those are mandatory. As a matter of fact, the only boss in pre-hardmode other than WoF that's mandatory is Skeletron, and even then, that can be put off until after golem at the absolute most.
For the shotgun subclass, you could go with the quad barrel shotgun. It can be obtained pre boss quite easily.
Meatball also can only be gotten post BoC.
For spears if you find the spear it’s a way to do damage and you might be able to find a trident if you want.
For the senteries getting the Frost Hydra isn’t a bad sentry either
