@@hadenhelms9184 No traps seed gives more traps, so more damage for bosses, especially post golem. Exploration would be harder, but I think the good outweighs the bad.
@Jack Lyons I disagree, I don't think the abundance of traps would help too much. Only thing it would do is speed up collecting enough traps post skeleton. But nothing other than that really. Dps would be about the same because you can only place so many

I know I'm late to the party, and not sure if this would've made a difference, but dart traps can be crafted into venom traps with spider fangs, inflicting the venom debuff and dealing more damage

Honestly the traps were shockingly viable, especially for the earlier bosses. I didn't know anything could kill the destroyer that fast lol
only on normal mode, expert and higher bosses are too tanky

pre-patch stardust dragon beat the destroyer before you could say "The Destroyer" and the dynamite method is pretty easy cheese. Oh can't forget using a teleporte to go super far away in the sky, opening the map, precisely aiming a super star shooter and killing him in one shot

The real crazy part is that you set all of the traps up without the Grand Design, which is obtainable RIGHT AFTER Skeletron along with all the other wiring stuff.
man seeing how good the damage output can be for some bosses is making me think traps should be a staple part of a lot of boss arenas

They'd need to do an "Trap" Class into terraria. It would be one of the most complex and strange classes into terraria, with only some traps to wire

I just built a 5 story arena for skeletron right in the middle of a corruption biome. o7
The rolling cactus not being a trap is a shame, since it's just a better boulder.
It is technically a trap, I just never really used them. Stone was just easier to collect I guess.
Rolling Cactus actually deals much less damage, and while this generally doesn't matter when it's still lethal to players, against enemies this means much less damage. Boulders only lose half their damage against ML's core; cacti drop to 1.

This is why I love Terraria. If your crazy enough, you can defeat an eldritch god with just boulders, spiky balls, and loss of your eyes. GG on the challenge man

A fix for the Moon Lord arena, you don't need to teleport around, you just use the nurse to get rid of the "leeched" debuff, therefore removing the healing, and your headache.

This was super impressive to watch. Your problem solving was ingenious, especially with the use of the moon dial and luck potions in EoL, something I wouldn’t have thought of.
Your patience and determination to get you through the moon lord fight was incredible, good job putting up with that.
I think you're missing traps such as tnt barrels, bouncy boulders, and venom dart traps on your list
I knew about the barrels and bouncy boulders, but I'm going to be honest; until reading all the comments I had no idea the venom dart trap even existed! Would have been nice to know a month ago

Firework traps work to i think
Yeah I was gonna mention this too. In terms of direct damage, they sit about half way between regular dart traps and the super dart traps, but their biggest feature is that they inflict _Venom_ instead of poison, thus dealing way more DoT.
Not only did you figure out the luck potions actually make it work better, but the fact that you thought of making the moondial actually useful, it's impressive. It's like how the guard spec in pokemon giving the same effect as the move mist is never useful except in that one challenge Smallant did.
that's not true, a lot of bosses can only be fought at night, so the moon dial is a super good item
If you combine this with Gungnir's "pacifist" run strats, we think they would compliment each other.

I'm suprised you didn't use bouncy boulders! You can set them up in such a way that they bounce back and forth for a while without breaking if you put them in a very tight space, they just look like they're vibrating and are an active hitbox. I think they have to manually be primed, though.
I considered using bouncy builders, but I only ever managed to kill one pinky.
I'm... really surprised you didn't develop The Grand Design. saves a lot of time and micromanagement when wiring. Excellent for hot-building.
That said, this challenge was a pretty nifty idea, and the planning and designs were both sights to behold. Liked and subbed, and looking forward to future ideas.
This is amazing. Not only because of how challenging it is at face value, but how you're faced with such insurmountable obstacles and are able to surpass them so brilliantly. Furthermore, I respect you for bearing through the visually-impairing Moon Lord fight. It seemed, at times, that that was the most challenging part of the fight. I hope you got the rest your eyes deserve!

The quality of your videos are insane, and for a video that is 99.9% Narrated and not real time you have always kept the viewer interested in hearing and watching.
No parts of the video felt boring at all, and once it ended i felt like it was a chapter of a story that had ended with nothing left to see or experience it was all perfect.
You are bound to be a good youtuber with the amount of dedication you put in this, your effort in these videos seem insane and i can't imagine myself working myself this hard just to entertain some people for a few minutes that felt like a whole golden movie.

@@lolcat1382 He didnt get 270 likes in 2 days, that comment was made when the video was posted. As of 2 days the video has had multiple thousands of likes. It's currently 7,000. When I connented the first time the video had 3,400 likes, and has since doubled in a single day.
Tho he had almost no jokes in his video, and humor is the important factor to get more people to enjoy the video and sharing it, and get more views.
For example, i burst laughing at 5:15 after seeing how Quin Bee the Thicc just pushed with her ahh goblin in to the honey, but guy make no mention about it, which is kind a frustrating. And there is a lot of moments like that, and he misses it, which make that video boring and overall not funny.

I'd strongly recommend the GG version of the wiki over the Fandom one, Fandom wikis are notorious for being harder to read, having worse/outdated info and spamming you with ads/autoplay videos. They're just run by an uncaring company and not dedicated people. The GG version is run by people that actually care about the game and if I'm remembering correctly actually does explain luck better and is the official wiki. Great video! Strangely if you had done this on expert/master mode (which probably isn't even possible so I definitely don't blame you for playing on normal lol), you might not have gotten any boss drops as treasure bags require a player to damage an enemy for at least 1hp and I don't think traps count. Lava and enemy activated traps definitely don't.

I'm new to the game and I'm playing in the hard mode for the first time (I mean, I went to hard mode once when I was younger, but gave up pretty early). I must say, your death box really REALLY helped me a lot to defeat the mechanical bosses. I don't think I could be able to defend the twins alone without it, so thanks a lot

I know you worked really hard on this, but an easier way to do this is instead of using boulders, use beehives. They’re crafted with 5 honey in a graveyard biome with an advanced workbench. The can do tons of damage to bosses, but have a little bit of grinding.

Moon Lord's tounge being attached to gives you a 14 second debuff, at the end of that debuf he heals. So you could have just brought the Nurse near you and healed any time the tounge made contact with you since the Nurse's healing gets rid of debuffs.
This is pretty cool! I shudder at the thought of doing this on expert or master though.

it's not that difficult as defense protects more on higher difficulties, and traps ignore defense so it doesn't matter that much
sometimes it's even easier since master mode skeletron has insane speed and is able to outrun a boulder so you can just kill him with two boulders given a long enough bridge

@@normalsith5529 Classic mode makes more sense for a challenge like this. It's incredibly tough to chop down bosses if your only weapon is a dinky boulder.

@@avidclownI get this, and I am not in any way criticizing their playthrough, but I'd be very interested in seeing this playthrough in Expert/Master due to just how absurdly difficult it would be, but to be fair, this was decently difficult, especially the EoL part, which I really liked, but why not go all the way and embrace the insanity completely?
@@lemons7670 By optimizing their traps and being as tanky as possible (Possibly fighting it post-EoW using Molten Armor) with as many buffs as possible, including the Bast Statue, they could also enlarge their trap 'box' to ensure it gets killed before daytime

This is the first video of yours I've seen!
I love Terraria and have been playing it since it came out, yet have never even gotten past Golem. As a result, I'm always so inspired when people seem to nail bosses I could never dream of touching, like the Moon Lord.
On top of that, I love seeing people play games "how they're not supposed to be played." It's so interesting to watch people use intelligence and patience that I doubt more than 0.01% of the population has. You make it look so easy! Even though I know you worked hard.
On top of that you're witty and incredible writing, and editing, really left me rooting for you to win!

You should try fighting golem again, you can use potions
(Endurance, Ironskin, Regeneration)
And a basic arena and with enough practice, I’m sure you can do it :D
You should use vampire knives or scourge of corrupter

Now i wanna try to play as mechanic class in terraria, thanks for the idea. The constant teleporting reminds me of Cecils vs Omni-Man "fight" from Invincible series, where Cecil was keep teleporting away to avoid getting hit
