  • In this video we visit Woodford, a station on New South Wales' Main Western Line in the Blue Mountains. The station is served by NSW Trainlink Blue Mountains Line services and we see some trains during the afternoon peak filmed between 6:10pm - 7:40pm. The majority of trains we see are the NSW Trainlink V Sets but we also see an Endeavour Railcar on the Bathurst Bullet service heading towards Bathurst.
Woodford is a small town in the middle of the Blue Mountains, situated around 609 meters above sea level with a population of 1,953. The station opened on the 11th July 1868 as Buss' Platform, before being renamed Woodford on 1 June 1871. The station was rebuilt to its current form in 1902 when the line through the Blue Mountains was duplicated, and is of local historic significance for representing the early construction phase of the duplication of the line demonstrating the technological and engineering achievements in railway construction at the beginning of the 1900's, as well as the growth in the development of Woodford as a historic town.
