I made this Chocolate Almond Torte,with bitter sweet chocolate contains 56.8% cocoa solids, didn't add extra sugar and it turned out very good. It was fudgy moist like from inside,is that how its supposed to be. I wish I can attach a picture with my comment. Thank you Stephanie for all the yummy recipes.

I thought I was following your instructions but I've made a mess.... The taste is lovely but the cake was more than moist, it wasn't cooked? I even put it back in oven for another 15mins... Still wet. Top is sooo good, bottom has a bit of a scrambled egg taste.. What did I do wrong? If you get a free moment, could you please let me know what you think I did wrong.... Hi. This torte recipe is my go-to recipe for most of our occasions. However I note that the top crust is quite hard on your cake (as can be seen in the video that it cracked up into some pieces). Mine gets softer on the top. Can you help me understand the reason please? Thanks

Sort of a bastardized version of the french classic reine de saba. I'm curious why you didn't bake it in a non spring form pan on a rack in a water bath. Chocolate or coffee liqueur and strong coffee add a great flavor to the chocolate whilst melting, and pure vanilla added to the eggs making whipped cream pull the flavors together. Imo.

Rather than add it to the batter I’d probably brush it on the finished torte so you retain the flavor. Maybe a tablespoon.
Could I use other type of nuts, instead of almonds? Would other type of nuts affect the texture perhaps?
You could use hazelnuts.
