I make this same cake but add three boiled oranges, litely chopped! I think my recipe uses more almond flour because of the oranges. Yummy!!! Orange almond torte. 😂🤣
I have not been able to eat cake for 15 years. For my birthday a few days ago, my son's mother-in-law sent me this recipe as a gift. My daughter-in-law made it for me and it was AMAZING!!! HOWEVER, we made a few adjustments. I cannot eat sugar or lemon so instead, she exchanged honey for sugar and just eliminated the lemon. It was AMAZING!!! It was moist and delicious! Our new "go-to" family cake. I did NOT gain any weight eating this cake and I didn't get sick. It does dry out after about 2 days in the fridge so I would recommend eating it up before 2 days, freeze, or keep in an air-tight container. We were completely shocked that this cake rose almost twice the size of teh one in the video! It would remind you of a pound cake with delicate flavor - really addicting. It was a complete shock to have a birthday cake for my birthday that was filled with healthful, healing foods - no refined sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no gluten! I did NOT gain weight from this cake either, in fact, I lost a pound since eating it for a couple of days. No kidding!

Then I add the almond flour and mix everything together. Much easier and cake turns out fluffier. Mmmmm, deliciousness
I tried the recipe yesterday. It was soft and fluffy. The lemon zest was flavorful. I reduced the sugar from 1/2 cup to 1/4 cup and it was perfect for us!

I didn’t have any fresh lemons or sliced almonds, so I, obviously, had to leave them out. We found it perfectly sweet without using the powdered sugar on top. It reminded us both of a sponge cake. It was still moist the next day too. I am planning to make this for our Easter dinner with strawberries and coconut milk whipped cream! Perfect gluten-free strawberry shortcake! Okay listen, I'm gonna be 100% honest, I absolutely love this recipe. I used it to make for my grandmas 78th birthday, keep in mind I have no baking experience. everyone at home enjoyed it and I felt overly accomplished. Thank you so much

I tried this cake. Easy to make and very delicious.I did alter the recipe slightly. I used three eggs instead of four substituting three tablespoons of ricotta for the fourth egg. I also added about a teaspoon of pure vanilla. Yum!!

I made this cake with my daughter because we wanted to make a cake but we didn't have flour. But had almond flour! We came upon your video and it was very easy to follow. Didn't have lemons so we substituted with some clementines and put the peels in a food processor. My daughter did most of work and she did great! Cake was so delicious. There's no need to buy one. Home made cake as this is pretty good than those expensive ones. Perfect for the family especially the kids. The way you bake all your cakes is pretty much convincing especially to moms out there to bake their own for their family. This is timely in today's pandemic situation.

Amazing cake. made it for my family and they love it. the only thing I did different was that I did a strawberry sauce and it complimented so well the almond flavor.

Hello Natasha - you did it again! I saw this recipe late last night and I had to make it early morning and I did and it came out perfect. Just made it and it’s moist and soft and delicious. Thanks Natasha for this simple and delicious recipe. A few tweaks I made were using coconut sugar and orange zest - an idea I picked from another reviewer as I too did not have any lemons at home.
i made this only with sugar substitute, 1:1. I need to try this again with real sugar to see if it make a difference. When I added the almond flour, which was 144 grams according to siri for 1 and 1/2 cups of almond flour, I got this cookie dough looking stuff. I hadn't read your entire post about spooning and leveling off, so I may have overdone it. Needless to say, it doesn't mix to well with the egg whites I managed the best I could to incorporate everything. It was chunky.I baked it anyway. What I ended up with was a cake with the consistency of biscotti! I may do this again, it was just like biscotti in texture and had a wonderful almond nut crunch to it. I had used tangerine zest because it was all i had on had. I made a simple syrup with extra tangerine zest and a tsp of lime juice and poured it over the surface. So yummy but i was expecting this cake, I guess I can have both! You would be welcome to try this out and see what i mean and if it is a keeper, post it! Happy life and good health!

Made this cake for the 2nd time, amazed the recipe does not use butter but still tastes amazing and moist 😍 Prefer Vanilla flavor over Lemon flavored desserts, so I used 1 tsp Vanilla extract this time instead...still amazing!! Thank you!
