I love the fact that Stephanie always gives both imperial and metric values for weight and temperature etc. Of course I think it is high time for the U.S. to adobt the metric system and forget the outdated imperial, but until then I hope more people making videos in the U.s. will use metric along with imperial measurements so everyone outside of the US, Liberia or Myanmar will understand everything as well.
I agree with this comment, I live in UK and we don't use imperial, other US Cake VIDEO always make me confused. I love Joy 's recipe, there are delicious but I usually put less sugar, all my friends love my chiffon orange Cake, and recipe come from Joy. I love her channel.

Wow. What a beautiful cake. Even though I'm in my late 60s and a fairly good cook, I've never been a baker so I'm a total beginner. You are such an inspiration to me and you've taught me so much....I've even purchased a nice second hand kitchen aid stand mixer and I just love the thing. I made this cake two years ago with some additions. I used whole almonds instead of slicing them, added a few tbsp of honey as well as some left over butter icing to the topping and I baked it until the almonds became golden brown. Everybody loved it. Hoping to make it again this week!

Stephanie, this was the simplest cake yet up there with the most labor-intensive. My complaint is that it was too hard to get any cook's treat almonds to fall off! The second time I made it I did put the tiniest pinch of good salt on the topping just before pouring it on the batter. Both ways are wonderful. Thank you so much.

Turned out perfect! Everyone loved it at home and I am not even much of a baker. Thank you. The only thing I added into the recipe were some walnuts in the cake batter and it was great:)

What I like is that you waited when you tasted the cake . I could see that you tried to really get the flavor. A lot of the cooks/bakers don't even chew the food before saying how good it is.
I am smiling to find this delicious cake here: it is called almond cake Carmen in Switzerland. I am Swiss and my first name is Carmen :-))). I often add a good pinch of ground cardamom to the first batter. It makes a nice tasty contrast to the crunchy caramelized almonds.

You surprised me on this one. I thought it was going to be made like the coconut pecan cake with the topping in the bottom of the pan. This looks delicious as well. I wish I could get up and walk in my kitchen and find it on the counter this morning. But I will definitely try this cake. Thanks!

This week I will make this cake with half almond and half regular flour. I'll post how it went. You should give it a try with all almond flour. Worst case it does not work and you have a cake you may have to eat with a spoon. LOL. Good luck. Let us know how it goes if you try it.

It was so hard we could not cut it. This is the first time I had a problem with your recipes. Love your show.
Since the almond topping is caramelized it will be nice and crispy. However, you could cover and let it sit overnight so the topping can soften.
