A2 fans get apoplectic when they are faced with the reality they cheated for three years. They so wish their wins were legit and could have been celebrated without cheating, but reality is otherwise. BET
The cheating comment was pro-Michigan. It reads, we win because we’re better than you. Keep grabbing for excuses. I’m an OSU guy that’s how I heard it.
The game call by your crew was not good, especially Gus...and I am a Buckeye fan. We don't need anyone to defend us or to make excused for us. Bottom line was we got outcoached, the play calling was atrocious, and our QB was rattled and spooked after the 1st interception and that big hit in the first half. But the play calls were just crazy. BIG PICTURE: Michigan just owns us right now. They are in Ryan Day's head. It's ok for Buckeye fans to accept that. I have seen this series have pendulum swings and right now UM is winning. Not sure if Ryan Day or Chip Kelly will be around but OSU will swing this rivalry back at some point.
@@jonathanwillis1143 yep as wolverine that's how it goes in pendulum swings but yec we don't need a sports announcer trying to tell us how to make a determination in how we're suppose to feel about any team. He has no business commentating
The "why" Ohio St allowed the game to be played on Michigan's terms is because Ryan Day is so on tilt about the past that it wasn't good enough to just win. He had to win in a particular way which proved his team's toughness and repelled the 2021-2023 narrative that OSU was a little softer than Michigan. It was pure hubris. And that made the loss all the more hilarious.
This was like Pete Carrol throwing the ball on the one instead of just handing to lynch letting him walk in. Rather be the team that won this way instead of just winning
Gus Johnson owes the college football fans an apology. His entire broadcast was awful. It was biased. It was inaccurate. Listen to the OSU radio call and take note. That’s what a professional broadcast sounds like. Grow up!
What failed joel krapp isn't factoring in with his fan disdain comments about current CFB is tha' anger fans have with CHILDREN being paid 10's or 100's of thousands of dollars, being too immature to get paid like that and how that brings a nonchalant attitude and performance. 12 million for a high school q.b.? Insanity.
I'd say that if Kyle was still at ohio, they win this game. But....Day would have still coached so we know how it would have ended. Day is a little little man.
This win puts an entire different outlook on this season. Instead of 6-6 and feeling like a lost year and major setback it is 7-5 with a huge rivalry win, huge recruiting win, and overall positive feelings heading into next year.
7-5 but we beat MSU and OSU. A tremendous success of a season for coach Moore and company! Saturdays game might be my favorite game of these last 4 seasons!
He did well coming off a NC and having a month to fill coaching positions and a depleted roster. Way to freaking finish the year by winning all 3 rivalry games while trying to figure out the QB situation.
I watched the game highlights with the Ohio State radio broadcast recently. As a Michigan fan there were extremely measured, unbiased, informative, and entertaining - in a word, _professional_ These are all things that cannot be said for Gus Johnson this last Saturday. How can a national broadcast have such a terribly unprofessional commentator for the biggest rivalry in sports? Gus’ comments during the postgame were just awful and out-of-touch, as were his calls during the game itself (see his exceptionally hoarse reaction to Sawyer’s interception). Any games he is casting from now on will have to be watched on mute, unfortunately.
He kind of lost his voice on Mulling's 27-yard run too. The fact is even announcers get into The Game. His comments were out of line with the whole sportsmanship comments, but he's human and we all make mistakes.
@@jerodmayoINCWhat? He made that comment as a reference to the allegations last year to where OSU had no excuse this time. It wasn’t worded the best but he wasn’t being biased
Forgive me but didn't Michigan drive the ball down to the 2 or 3 yard lines then turned over on downs, which then led to the interception for the 3 yard drive? So to say Michigan couldn't drive down the field is a false narrative. Also drove down to the 3 for a 9 min. drive only to throw the interception that Gus went apoplectic on...
Right?! Give Michigan a little credit on the offensive side of the ball. Joel gave Michigan's defense credit, "only because Ohio State should've played a different way on offense?" Now that's what's disrespectful. I hate everyone excusing Ohio State and dissing Michigan. Michigan beat the #2 team in the country and it's all about Ohio State. And then, then, Ohio State starts a fight after the game and everyone is saying that's okay. If that was Michigan, Petiti would have hammered them but it's Ohio state and they're in the Playoffs. He cand suspend thier players so...
Let's make this simple, it no longer matters what Ohio St. wins from here on out. And for MI? They have now won their season. That is the importance of, and why it's called, "The Game". "It's great, to be, a Michigan Wolverine!"
Hubris. Day and Kelly wanted to beat Michigan at their game more than they wanted to beat Michigan in THE game. Everyone could tell, that's why there's such fallout.
Which is why Day has to go. He’s too prideful and trying to be a tough guy when he and his teams are just not. It’s an insecurity of his and it cost tOSU yet again. Win The game. That’s all that matters. He needs to stop trying to be something he’s not. Ohio State hasn’t been tough since the Urban Meyer days.
Joel better give us an apology for Gus horrendous takes during the Game. Never heard such biased commentary ever. How dare he blame Michigan when OSU was the ones how fought back; how bout if u don’t want a flag planted you win the game. Did we attack OSU when they planted flags at the big house during the OSU win streak under Urban Meyer? Cause we remember that and get the receipts
Planting a flag isn't unsportsmanlike, Texas and Oregon planted flags on the M this year, Michigan planted a flag 2 years ago. Throwing a toddler tantrum and starting a fight is what is unsportsmanlike.
@@dakotaflowers0 planting a flag is not unsportsmanlike. People just decided two days ago that it is in order to support their hurt feelings. There is nothing wrong with it. You're just a baby

OSU did try to play in the perimeter Joel. I disagree with your statement. The pass rush and coverage downfield was just much better than in previous games. I gave Wink a hard time but he really planned that game really well even without key players and Rod Moore.
Michigan's victory over OSU will be huge for high school recruits and transfer portal players who want to be 'coached up' at Michigan, as opposed to 'making Coach Day look good.'
@@Melrose51653no dog in the fight, but pointing to an individual play or two to pound uour chest is the same reason OSU lost. OSU cannot play Michigan on their terms...end of story. OSU will lose to any physical team if they don't get into a finnesse game. See Peach Bowl, 2022. Got Georgia into a wide open game and they had a chance. At the end of the day, they cannot play the Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Michigan's of the world on those teams terms and survive. OSU does not practice or play a physical brand of football and haven't with a couple notable exceptions really since the 80s.
Michigan may be 7-5 but they kept 3 rivalry trophies (MSU, Minnesota, and NW) and beat #2 OSU on the road. With a rebuilding roster im absolutely satisfied with this season. And im ecstatic for next year.
keep that up for the Pop Tart Bowl. Accepting a 7-5 season where you can't make a 12 team playoff coming off a national title when you can pay players is pretty comical.
I just cant understand it. We have all the speed and talent in the world and Ryan Day insists on trying to be a physical team with a banged up offensive line. We can win the national championship this year if we fix the playcalling, but I have zero faith Day will do it.
What about Gus’s comment about Michigan at the end of the game? Awful. Also, Texas and Oregon planted flags in Ann Arbor and Michigan didn’t start a brawl. Ohio State was wrong to do what they did. It’s that simple.
So what you're saying is that because Michigan was okay with having their field disrespected that Ohio State should be okay with it as well? That is an L take. If you have the stones to disrespect another teams logo/field, then have the stones to receive whatever the retaliation for it is. If you can't handle the retaliation, then don't plant your flag. It's that simple.
@ “Stones”? Meaning willing to commit assault over damaged pride? I wouldn’t have assaulted an OSU player if they beat my team and set their flag down in the middle of my field. Id prepare to beat them next year. But some people are spoiled and sore losers. I guess getting into a fight after losing and assaulting the other team makes you tough? 🤷🏻♂️
@@techlorknight338this is a bad take. They lost with class against non rivals that are top end of the entire country. The Game against OSU is personal, planting flags comes with the victory/loss especially with this one which had Michigan do this in 2022 and OSU didn’t care.
When I tuned in at the end of the game I fully expected UM to be blown out by 40 pts. I was absolutely shocked that we had a chance to WIN with a minute left in the game?? Biggest and most satisfying OS upset in Michigan history. Ohio State will of course eventually beat UM again, maybe even go on the kind of run they did from 2000-2020, but they will NEVER be able to take this victory away from Michigan. GO BLUE!!!
Just discovered your channel I love listening to you talk about college football very good knowledge and insights. There is no one else on RUclips I can listen to an hour long recap of the week that was in college football, subscribed
I have been watching your RUclips videos and listening to your game broadcasts for years. Your analysis and commentary on the emotional attachment we all have towards college football (35:51) was masterful and brilliant. I wanted to say thank you for today's show!
We need some accountability from Gus. Thought both those guys were obviously paid too glaze OSU that game. But Gus was on one. All the sudden it’s not ok to plant the flag on a big upset win? On the road? Texas and Oregon did it to Michigan THIS year. What the heck is going on in ohio? What a pathetic state/program/fan base.
First, Gus Johnson needs to resign. Second, OSU tried to throw the ball downfield on Michigan and didn't have much success. 19 for 33 and two picks. Michigan's stout secondary without Will Johnson was the biggest surprise of the game. People that think OSU had this whole other gear they never tapped into are just fooling themselves.
Exactly, that’s what I’m trying to get across. Michigan made them play that way. If any other team came to Columbus that day, Ohio State probably wins. Michigans D forced them to not be able to get anything going
The Martindale/Minter/Macdonald scheme is designed specifically to stop Day’s offense. Point blank. Day’s system is all about three-level dropback passing and zone blocking. It works against every team in the country minus Michigan because Michigan uses an NFL style coverage scheme and they have an elite, elite level D-Line. Say what you will about Urban Meyer, but he understood that in college football, the greatest advantage in games like that is a dual-threat QB who can make off-schedule plays (Braxton Miller, Tim Tebow, JT Barrett, etc.) and also execute read option, which is Meyer’s favorite play. If Day wants to win this game again, he needs to adjust the same way his sworn enemy Harbaugh did and devise a scheme better equipped to beat Michigan’s defense.
The weather conditions dictated the absolute disaster of using the shotgun formation. 2 low snaps, 1 but snap and 2 snaps floated back and I believe all 5 were incompletions because it throws the timing off as well as takes the QB’s eyes off the defense.
@@travissmith9488 Yep, and neither were Stroud or McCord. He recruits great pocket passers, but not true dual-threat QBs like Meyer did. Day’s scheme isn’t junk. It beats everyone on their schedule, just not Michigan. Great coaches make adjustments. Harbaugh saw what he was doing wasn’t working and changed schemes on both sides of the ball. Day will probably get one more chance to do the same or he will be out of a job. That, or if Wink Martindale takes an NFL job next year.
Tough go at it for the Buckeyes. Feels like next year, Michigan will be greatly improved, OSU will be somewhat diminished compared to this year’s squad, and the game is in AA. Will be a tougher fought battle for OSU next year to snap the streak. Edit: At least on paper. You never really know how these rivalry games will turn out.
I have a lot of respect for you Joel but to say the only reason Michigan scored 10 points was due to turnovers isn't really painting an accurate picture of what happened in The Game. Michigan scores their TD after driving 11 plays and 72 yards. They went for it on 4th and goal at the 3 yard line. So they were able to move the ball on OSU. The UM pick happened 3 plays later at almost the same spot on the field as where they were. Then near the end of the 3rd quarter Michigan again drives 15 plays and 77 yards to the 3 yard line and on 1st and goal with a wide open Klein in the end zone, Warren throws yet another pick with no OSU turnover to bail him out. That turnover happened because of the same thing that's happened to Michigan all season, bad QB play. Michigan scoring wasn't because OSU gifted them turnovers, that only happened once. If they had a serviceable QB, both drives likely end up with TD's regardless of turnovers, maybe more. If anything Michigan had scores taken away due to continued poor QB play, the scoring differential should have been 7-14 points more. As you said, OSU should have won going away but third base Ryan Day was so focused on trying to out-Michigan Michigan because his team was being called soft by lots of people, including Lou Holtz. Not every team can be smash-mouth, if finesse is your thing embrace it.
Wow. An honest Michigan Fan that watched the game for what it was. Terribly outcoached on Day and Kelly's side. They made it easy for Michigan to stop them...I saw it was over when they came out after halftime and make any adjustments. Michigan fans should hope that John Coop....I mean Ryan Day stays at Ohio State...a lot of easy days ahead for Michigan.
But also...yea they got stopped 4th and 1 from the 3. Then Howard threw the pick that gave them the ball back on the 2. So if they don't throw an interception (Turnover) they probably don't score a touchdown there because they didn't drive the ball at all in the first half past the 35 in the first half. But no reason to deal in what-if's...Michigan outplayed and out coached a team that has some of the best WR but a QB that can't get it to them, so instead of taking shots they ran into a good d-line. Ryan Day, Chip Kelly, and Will Howard couldn't handle it.
@@kpat2069 As I said, Michigan drove 72 yards in 11 plays to get to the 4th and 1 in the 2nd quarter. So they did drive the ball the length of the field in the first half and they did it again in the 2nd half.
I’ve always been on the fence about Gus Johnson but this Saturday firmly solidified his reputation as an OSU slappy. Completely unprofessional and absurdly biased. He nearly passed out from excitement when Sawyer got his INT. Shameful that he ever called himself a Michigan fan.
Cop out. While I agree that this is due in part because of that "emotional red line" you speak of, Joel, you draw the line at physical assault. If you're the one who makes it into a physical altercation, then you're to blame. Flag waving and planting and all that is nothing. Think of it what you will. Classless? That's one opinion. Players and fans will celebrate and will be loud and often obnoxious and over the top, but physical assault is physical assault. You let the Buckeyes off the hook.
As a football fan that is not usually a fan of the Big 10 in general, watching that game was truly jaw dropping. Hat's off to Michigan for such a successful game plan that worked. It is crazy how college football has been clearly much better than the NFL this year....
The thing that sets Joel above the others is his storytelling. 18:28 is a perfect example of that. This is my favorite college football show because of two reasons. Joel's ability to remain *mostly* unbiased, even where his alma mater and favorite teams of the year are concerned, and his natural storytelling abilities. The way I would love to just talk to this dude about college football for 5 minutes is crazy. I feel like nobody likes just good, fun, chaotic CFB anymore. It's all about who you beat and how bad, but college football has so much passion and tradition and so many stories and rivalries that get their flowers because of The Joel Klatt Show. I just wanted to sing my praises honestly, the work you do is incredible. I have been a fan since the first time I heard you on Cowherd's show back in 2017 (I think? Maybe 2018?) and I love to see your growth and success. You deserve it. 🎉
OSU didn't get away from a wide open passing game because they were stupid or bull-headed, they got away from it because of the dominance of the UM D line. UM was getting consistent pressure on the QB without blitzing and having to play man defense. Howard was having trouble finding open receivers under pressure (and threw those two picks). The easy hot reads you get against the blitz weren't there.
@@ColeMarie619 Howdy Cole, the 2 minute offense before the 2nd half was the Ferrari. Use that all day and they score 50 maybe. He was asked about it at the press conference and did not answer why he did not go back to it.
@@dennisgannon At the end of game with Michigan in deep zone coverage, OSU still couldn't pass against Michigan. You're fooling yourself if you think they simply didn't try.
This is the best analysis of why Ohio State played the game that they did. Nothing else explains it. The coaching staff probably didn't anticipate two missed goals and a broken tackle run, a mistake which proved to be fatal but your analysis is spot on as to why they didn't throw the ball more. This is why it can only be deciphered by someone who has played the game vs someone like Pate (no disrespect to Pate but his analysis sometimes are too embryonic to be taken seriously). Brilliant stuff and i think this was your best episode of the season.
You can buy 5* players but you can’t buy heart and toughness. The last 4 years Michigan has not punted in the 4th quarter. They kick it in the next year.
The Michigan team that defeated OSU, is not the same team that lost to Texas, early in the season. Teams get better as the season progresses, when they are younger team, that is replacing a lot of the 2023 line up. I was shocked at how well they stood up to the pressure od playing in Columbus, in front of a hostile crowd.
Mullins said it during his interview after the game. Something along the lines that they had forgotten how hard it is to win and I think that spoke a lot about the growth in the locker room.
Joel, I think you're wrong. I think they ran it up the middle so much because they were trying to prove a point. They want to be tough. And they just aren't.
They did lose 2 NFL linemen for the season ,so bad coaching on Day trying to run behind two back ups vs Michigans strength, Michigan got lucky this time and that happens in sports, nobody neutral that watched that game thought Michigan was the better team.
Joel, Michigan's defensive line caved in OSU's O line. They had no time to pass, let alone do anything meaningful with the ground game. Day's no idiot, as much as everyone want to think he is. Michigan found themselves late in the season, showed up and showed out when it mattered most. Period.
It’s all about our heritage and football culture! Early in Jim Harbaugh’s tenure, we tried to emulate Ohio State’s style of play. It didn’t work-we got crushed and humiliated. Then in 2021, Jim took things back to the basics. Michigan football is rooted in power football, strong defense, and solid special teams. When you dominate two phases of the game and control time of possession, your chances of winning go way up.
Your boy Gus should be apologizing for some of his comments at the end of the game towards Michigan. The cheating comment was BS & he didn't have any issues with Texas planting the flag in Michigan Stadium earlier this year.
Joel is hilarious. UGA beats their rival , says they aren't very good. Ohio State loses to theirs, a worse team than Ga Tech, and never says anything of the sort about Ohio State. Interesting, company man.
Come on Joel, tOSU being more upset about the flag than the result of the game is childish. Michigan gets to celebrate, if you want to celebrate, win the game.
Joel - do you think it's okay for the Buckeye players to assault Michigan players who are celebrating at midfield following a big win? This is basically a championship game every year. In every other sport, the winning team gets the right to celebrate a championship on the court/field wherever it's played. Michigan didn't go confront the OSU players. They gathered together on the field to celebrate. It was the Buckeye players who came charging across the field to start a fight. Sorry - I don't buy this argument that it's no big deal because the game is played on the emotional red line. Assault is assault. The Buckeye players responsible should be held responsible. And yes, the conference should get involved.
@@MRBUCKNUTZ2 Maybe your guys should stop being soft during the game and trying to make up for it after. It won't get any easier. See you in the Big House next year. For now, enjoy your L
Joel has gotta be one of the only sports analyst that is 100% honest. Whether you wanna hear it or not, he’s gonna tell you exactly what’s going on with your team. It’s refreshing to say the least.
You're right about Will Howard and of all the recaps ive watched, you're the only one who has addressed exactly what i saw. Michigan ran a lot of different looks than they have most of the year. They had been a blitz heavy team all year. They barely blitzed in this game. They dropped back in zone and played extremely disciplined when spying Will Howard sonhe had nowhere to run if he escaped the pocket. No one is giving Wink and that secondary the credit they deserve. Without the play of that secondary, the CFB world is having a mich different conversation today.
Did they play Oregon that way or couldn’t cause they got smoked doing it? I seem to remember they tried but couldn’t. Maybe Howard just can’t throw the ball downfield or the playing calling to take advantage wasn’t there. Ohio state has 2 of the best receivers in college football and I would think they could just go get the ball in cover or man to man.
Joel won't say it but I will: Buckeyes, you lost...go to the locker room. If you wanted to fight, then you had 60 minutes to do it to win...but you didn't....take your L and go to the locker room. Wolverines, you won....you can do whatever you want.
Your co-host Gus should never be allowed to call a Michigan game ever again that was a disgrace full of 4 hours of slander the whole game it was pathetic
You and gus were slurping ohio's knob the entire game up until around 5 minutes in the game, when you finally started to compliment what Michigan accomplished to that point. Im hoping fox gives its viewers an alternate experience for fox noon games like espn does on Monday night football, I simply don't want to be forced to listen (especially to gus) to your broadcast anymore.
The problem with OSU needing to play the game on their terms instead of Michigan’s is that they already tried that with better talent in 2021 and 2022 and failed miserably both times. They tried beating Michigan through the air in 21 and 22 with a better QB and receivers than they have this year and got stomped. Ryan Day remembers this because that’s when he lost his identity as a coach.
It's not unsportsmanlike to plant a flag; Michigan did so two years ago, and Texas and Oregon did so this year on the M. It is unsportsmanlike to start a quarrel and throw a toddler tantrum.

Alabama does not deserve to get in the Playoff. They need to stop showing favoritism toward the SEC. Also, coaches who politic for their team shout be penalized for doing so.
Everyone fixates on passing. They criticize Michigan for having so few passing yards but if you look at the yardage gained per team is just about the same for both teams. The only difference is that Michigan does it through the ground game and OSU does it through the air.

"Ryan Day is 65-6 against teams not named Michigan or in the playoffs" So he can win all the cupcake games in the Big Ten against teams with less than a quarter of the talent OSU has and lose to anyone with a pulse. Their best wins are always a gutless PSU. I could win more often than not in a race if im driving a sports car but my opponent is driving a minivan. Im hopeless if I were to go up against another sports car with a competent driver. Same thing with Day at OSU.
Dear Fox, Keep Joel Klatt, but I think it’s time that Gus needs to be sent to do pickleball play by play or maybe cricket. Obviously CFB is a little too much real life for him.
So was Ryan Day apprehensive about over ruling Chip's desire to establish the run, or was Ryan again unable to overcome his stubbornness to try and establish the run? 🤔
Good game analysis Joel. I think what was frustrating from a Michigan point of view this year is that it took so long for Michigan to play to their own strengths and get the most out of the talent they had. The fans seemed to have gotten this long before the coaches did this year.
8:00 Michigan drove all the way down the field and didn't convert on 4th&1 before that interception. Disingenuous to say Michigan did nothing vs their defense.
In the past 4 years OHSOFT-O STATE has scored a total of 31 points in the 2nd half vs Michigan. An average of 7.75 points per 2nd half. Meanwhile Michigan has scored 75 points in the 2nd half of those same 4 games. An average 18.75 points per 2nd half. Is it better conditioning at Michigan? Stronger mentality at Michigan? Better half-time adjustments from Michigan's coaches? All 3 of those things? Something else?

Gus Johnson made a crazily biased announcement. made a dishonest remark about Michigan at the conclusion of the match.
This is spot on.
And proved yet again that his team is just softer than Michigan.
This was like Pete Carrol throwing the ball on the one instead of just handing to lynch letting him walk in. Rather be the team that won this way instead of just winning
I was just about to write the exact same thing. The game plan was to run the ball. Although I cannot decide if it was hubris or insecurity.

I watched the game highlights with the Ohio State radio broadcast recently. As a Michigan fan there were extremely measured, unbiased, informative, and entertaining - in a word, _professional_
These are all things that cannot be said for Gus Johnson this last Saturday.
Always watch his games on mute. Annoying
Ohio State has one of the best, if not the best, radio calls out there. They're fantastic every year I've heard them.

Also, Texas and Oregon planted flags in Ann Arbor and Michigan didn’t start a brawl. Ohio State was wrong to do what they did. It’s that simple.

Seen a lot of people claiming this but Oregon did not plant a flag against Michigan this year.
@@randymarsh6931 Bad news for OSU is that Tavien St. Clair isn't one of the more mobile QB's in the 2025 class.
Sorry for beating your's and Gus's favorite team again. Go blue

Michigan had a 42% pressure rate on Howard. Impressive in The Game.

😂😂😂😂
They did lose 2 NFL linemen for the season ,so bad coaching on Day trying to run behind two back ups vs Michigans strength, Michigan got lucky this time and that happens in sports, nobody neutral that watched that game thought Michigan was the better team.
Ohio had 10 total yards an ZERO first downs in the 4th qtr.
And yet there's clowns crying to have wink fired all year long 😂😂
OSU was out-coached on Saturday. Plain and simple. Sad too.
Joel, Michigan's defensive line caved in OSU's O line. They had no time to pass, let alone do anything meaningful with the ground game. Day's no idiot, as much as everyone want to think he is. Michigan found themselves late in the season, showed up and showed out when it mattered most. Period.
As a michigan man, i think howard was concussed after the hit. Their backups didnt know the plays

@@mizzyfit_334 Every top program spends money NIL. Texas spent 23 million. Its the new normal.
Umm it literally goes hand in hand
Ryan Day is one of our best players!!
Stop being soft
@@MRBUCKNUTZ2 Maybe your guys should stop being soft during the game and trying to make up for it after.
It won't get any easier. See you in the Big House next year.
For now, enjoy your L
@MRBUCKNUTZ2 soft like throwing a tantrum because of a flag?
Joel has gotta be one of the only sports analyst that is 100% honest. Whether you wanna hear it or not, he’s gonna tell you exactly what’s going on with your team. It’s refreshing to say the least.
Crazy how Joel acts like the Oregon game was an unexplainable blip on the radar for Ohio State
He don’t make no sense. Saying Texas T there best is his pic and still Ohio state I gotta stop watching him
I knew Day was done for and hadn't learned anything with the way OSU lost that Oregon game
Really good analysis on OSU's in-game plan from Day/Kelly's perspective. Makes a lot more sense now.
Joel won't say it but I will: Buckeyes, you lost...go to the locker room. If you wanted to fight, then you had 60 minutes to do it to win...but you didn't....take your L and go to the locker room. Wolverines, you won....you can do whatever you want.
They stay on the field to sing Carmen Ohio win or lose - every game. That's why they were on the field when the moronic um players did stupid stuff.
Your co-host Gus should never be allowed to call a Michigan game ever again that was a disgrace full of 4 hours of slander the whole game it was pathetic
Great weekend. Love the Dad hat. Go Irish!!!
Benetti is the best announcer for Fox and it isn't even close. Wish he got big noon.
Klatt, FOX has to drop Gus. That old man can't seem to call a game- his fanboy crush on OSU makes him sound insane.
Him and Joel are always like that. It's not a coincidence that 60-70% of the games they call are when Ohio State is playing.
Joel I don't know if you will see this, but your explanation in this video of college football as part of identity was beautiful. One of the best sports commentaries I've ever heard.
Yea second. So eloquently put
Joel, it would be good to hear your take on who was really playcalling for OSU - RD or Chip.
@@sanjaygopal627 on an OSU podcast someone in the know said Ryan was more involved in the offensive game planning than any other week. Day is stubborn and wanted to prove a point about “toughness” like an idiot.
@@kevinjohnston4923and he gets fired bc of doing that. If by a grace of god he can somehow win a Natty this year that might save him.
Joel needs to ditch Gus. He would do much better without him.
Its not up to him
Wil Howard was getting pressured instantly that's why they had to established the run vs Michigan. It wasn't by choice, Michigan made then one dimensional. And that OSU TD would have been a offensive PI if the ref was competent.
Ref was giving them help most of the game! So many missed holding calls
Refs were one sided, but they always are for tsio. I counted 22 holds on Bucknuts OLine and none were called.
I remember when Ryan Day said he was gonna hang 100 on Michigan. I swear I heard him say this year he was gonna hang 10 points LMAO.

Seriously, Joel, your partner/ announcer Gus has to be retired to an Ohio State broadcaster.
Michigan has NOT punted the ball in the 4th quarter against Ohio State since 2019…. I’ll say that again, Michigan has not had to punt the football once during 60 minutes of 4th quarter football against OSU 🤯
Alabama does not deserve to get in the Playoff. They need to stop showing favoritism toward the SEC. Also, coaches who politic for their team shout be penalized for doing so.
How about ND. their best win is A&M and they lost to Northern Illinois?
Gus Johnson is not from Detroit 😂😂😂
Yes he was
Google it
He was born in Detroit and graduated from Detroit Jesuit High school. Maybe you should get your facts straight.
Everyone fixates on passing. They criticize Michigan for having so few passing yards but if you look at the yardage gained per team is just about the same for both teams. The only difference is that Michigan does it through the ground game and OSU does it through the air.
Top 5 Ohio State scored 10 points in a loss to 5 loss Michigan in one of the most heated rivalries in sports and 95% of the comments are about Gus Johnson THAT is how bad it was for all that didn't watch the game. Especially the ending.
"We didn't cheat, THIS time!"
"Ryan Day is 65-6 against teams not named Michigan or in the playoffs"
So he can win all the cupcake games in the Big Ten against teams with less than a quarter of the talent OSU has and lose to anyone with a pulse.
Michigan's band should play ELO's "Can't Get It Out Of My Head" during the pregame show for this game in Ann Arbor next year.
Perfect!
@@KarenSwereski So of those 4 yrs u only got 1 natty. Basically u looked forward to beating us and that's it while we look forward to winning naty, of which we still can?
@7:56 Saying Michigan only scored because of an Interception is a little silly when they drove the length of the field before turning it over in 4th and 1. They also drove down the field a few more times in the 2nd half, one of which was of course the 1st and goal from the 2.
One of your best shows. Well done.
Mid season UofM should of moved D. Edward's out wide, putting one of there better athletes on the field.
