I make it for family dinners, birthdays, and everything in between. I really like the combination of two types of chocolate. Unsweetened cocoa powder is used in the chocolate cake and a dark chocolate (semi sweet or bittersweet) is used in the frosting.

I made this for my boyfriend to take to work for a charity competition and this beat all the other cakes by miles!! We won the competition and I got so, so many compliments for this cake! I cannot believe how easy it was to make! I did reduce the amount of sugar in the cake mixture to about 300 grams as I was using a sweeter chocolate in my frosting. I am still amazed how well it turned out! I kept a few pieced to keep at home and after 3 days they still taste gorgeous! Thank you for this amazing recipe, this will be the one I will use from now on. Love it.

Yeunhee Na....hi I too tried this cake it came out well... check the expiry date of baking soda and baking powder....eggs in room temperature...don't beat too much hope these point will help u...Happy baking😊

this recipe is awesome i tried it... but i did little bit changes into it, as i am VEGETARIAN instead of 2 eggs i used half tin of milkmaid ( condensed milk) which is about 7 oz and the granulated sugar reduced to 1 cup and at the end of mixing all ingredients i added 2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar which act as a egg re-placer final outcome was AWESOME the coffee flavor makes this cake more delicious thank you so much for sharing this recipe mam I love the way you explain everything...

Oh my goodness: story time. I made this a few months ago for a friends birthday and I made so many mistakes... I used a tin with a loose bottom and so the batter leaked out onto the oven floor... I didn’t line the tin with paper, and so it all stuck to the tin... and also I used a much narrower, deeper tin, and so it took twice as long to cook... (probably also because I had to open the door to put something under it to stop all the leaking) BUT GUESS WHAT my guests ate the whole cake in about 10 minutes and wouldn’t stop praising it! They said it was the BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE they’d had! It was a triumph.

3:36 finally! Thank you, a recipe with no butter. US pastry uses a lot of butter and here in my country we don't have good butter, it always leaves you with an unpleasant aftertaste.

I just made this recipe. It's the best cake I've ever tasted. I made the mixture into 18 large cupcakes and reduced the time in the oven to 25 minutes, the smell as they were baking was divine. It reminds me of chocolate fudge cake & am tempted to serve one hot with ice cream. Will let you know how it goes. I've had several baking disasters recently so am thrilled that this came out so good. Also was the first time I've used oil instead of butter & I have to say it made mixing the batter so much easier. made this and followed the recipe exactly and it was amazing! Chocolate whipped cream could be a great substitute for those who don't like a thick and creamy frosting like this, i did use the frosting advised in the video though. I also put strawberries inbetween and it make twice as better!

After so much thought (and headache 😆), I chose this as my birthday cake this year. I've tested this cake as a beginner and I've known this is my fave chocolate cake but I only tried the chocolate buttercream today. So rich and chocolate-y, I used dark chocolate for the frosting. Dear Stephanie, I made this yesterday, it came out too well. I used cup measure only, still it came out excellent. Thank you very much for this recipe. To control the calories I omitted the frosting. To keep the moisture up, I kept the cake covered till it cooled down. My daughter gave me a 👍. It was melting in the mouth

Just made this cake today and this is hands down the best chocolate cake I've ever had! The cake is so moist and fluffy, not to mention delicious! I used only 340 g of sugar for the cake & 140 g of confectioner's sugar for the frosting since I don't like very sweet food and it came out perfect for me. This is gonna be my go-to chocolate cake recipe from now on!

I made this and used water instead of coffee. I also made it in a 9x13 inch pan for 27 minutes. It turned out so moist and full of flavor. Great recipe.

😂 mine had some complications.. I had to put foil on the top so it would cook the middle faster. Y'know Idk what went wrong, but i did have to substitute things.

been looking for a moist chocolate cake recipe that one: has measurements in grams and ml and 2: doesn't use buttermilk since its not something i always have in the house. Today is my son's birthday and i baked this exact chocolate cake but with my own butter cream frosting. And boy oh boy! This right here was the moistest (if that's even a word), most sinful chocolate cake i've ever baked, and maybe that i've ever had. Brilliant! Thank you so much, went down a treat 🤗😀🎂🍫

I made this cake and it was literally the BEST..CAKE..EVER! Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe I made it for my family and they LOVED it! My mom can't have gluten so I used gluten free flour instead of normal flour and it turned out wonderful, Now I make it at least once a week.

Hi I made this cake for my husband's birthday. It came out so perfect! Thank you for this recipe. It was really simple to follow all your instructions! Only mistake I did was I added granulated sugar instead of icing sugar.. I didn't have any.. to the frosting.. so it wasn't as smooth.. but taste wise it was great! Thanks again!

Wow I made this yesterday and after I mixed it all together it was really liquefied but smelled so good. I was hesitant and thought of putting in more flour but I just put it in the oven. After only 20 minutes I took it out and it smelled absolutely delicious. It tasted just as good too! The consistency was spongy and the coffee compliments the chocolate too :) already more than half of the cake has been eaten since yesterday by my family. I'm only 14 and a beginner to baking but it really was simple and easy to make. I would definitely make it again. Thanks for uploading x

I have been using this recipe since I was 17 (I am 23 now) and have always had great results. I’ve had a lot of people tell me it’s the best they’ve had! And I am no baker, I fact this is the only cake I’ve ever made. I like to add a couple of extra ingredients though..But anyway I would just like to say thanks for sharing this great recipe!😁
