Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make a Simple Vanilla Cake. This is a recipe, along with the accompanying video, where I take a Simple Vanilla Cake and transform it into an elegant multi-layer cake. It is not a butter cake, it is a cake where the fat is in liquid form (oil). So you have a cake that is wonderfully moist and tender.

a little suggestion from a cake decorator, if you dip your tilted spatula in water before smoothing the cake you can get the layers as smooth looking as fondant.
Another thing I like to do with this particular cream cheese frosting is that I will skip the sugar and often add a little extra flavoring like lemon, orange or my favorite almond. The less sweet frosting matched with the sweet cake I find to be far more flavorful and still incredibly rich. (I love doing the marscapone as well)
I once added a few tablespoons of almond flour to my frosting and it was to die for.

I have also learned techniques and tips from watching that I have incorporated into baking in general. I particularly appreciate the way you present things, so unpretentious and friendly - yet not too chatty, just keep to the method and suggest ways that I can make it my own and use equipment that I have on hand. You make baking very accessible and approachable, giving confidence. I hope you will never stop! Thank you!

That looks wonderful. I find olive oil is a little too strong in flavour for cakes so I use a flavourless oil instead. But I have made muffins and cupcakes before with olive oil when I had nothing else. Love the end result of this cake, thank you Stephanie.

This is a beautiful pairing. I love this cake and the frosting. Did both Red Velvet and The Vanilla cake. Many asked for the recipe. I just refer them to your channel. I absolutely love your channel and look forward to new episodes.
    Stay well,

Stephanie, Thank you for this vanilla cake recipe. We have tried many recipes and this definitely works as you said " Simple ". Very nice texture and vanilla flavor. Even taste good without icing and a cup of coffee. Thanks again . 😊☕

I always end up printing out your recipes so I can try them. They are all so delicious. Thanks for making videos. You always have such handy tips that I would never think of. My great aunt was a baker and cake decorator. She always made me beautiful doll cakes when I was young. Alas she passed when I was about 12 years old. So watching your videos is like getting lessons I missed out from her. I hope you had wonderful Christmas holiday. Blessings to you and your family.

Make them just like using same-sized pans. You'll have 2 different sized layers but that's not a bad thing!
