Very good presentation. I wish I had found it before unpacking my platinum(my first drone) this week. Hardest part was turning on the controller. lol. I have 2 issues left. The quad only showed up on the pc once, and the video on my S4 Galaxy is choppy. All firmware is up to date.
Does this Mavix Pro Platinum quadcopter have the Quickshot Circle mode, Quickshot Helix mode, Quickshot Rocket mode and Qucikshot Dronie mode like the DJI Spark Fly More has???

An older drone by todays standards but my dad has had this drone for a little while, and he brought it up for me to use since he barely uses it. A good one to practice on before I decide to get a newer one. Anyway, so excited to go flying at my local park and capture some beautiful sunsets! Thanks for the video!

Great tips for someone like me who just got a platinum yesterday. One thing though is your advice on the csc, it says in the manual that a csc cannot be initiated during normal flight, only in the event of a critical battery error. I will not be testing that to see if it's true or not. Subbed so I can look at your girl some more lol.

Great video and I bought the Mavic Pro Platinum Fly More Combo after watching it. It's my first drone and it's fantastic. The only thing I'm really annoyed about is after buying a Crystalsky monitor to use with it. Not only does the Crystalsky not come with a charger but I also find that the charger that comes with the Platinum Pro won't work with it. It does not have the required plug to connect to the battery charging hub. So, after paying nearly £450 nearly a week ago for my Crystalsky I'm now waiting for a charger for it to arrive. It's a bit like buying a buying a torch without a bulb included. Furthermore I can't find a seller anywhere that points out that the Crystalsky doesn't include a charger or that the Mavic Platinum Pro charger won't work with it at the point of sale. How DJI must assume that I have a charger from a Phantom or Inspire to charge my Crystal sky is unbelievable!

Great video mate, just bought this package last week. Took off to a nice 4WD spot on the beach (Perth) for New Year’s Eve and got some great footage. Didn’t realise they may be bringing a newer version out since the Platinum has just recently been released... oh well, still a great drone and ideal for 4WD and MountainBiking 👍🏽
Ah man, that sound ace! So glad your first flight went well, are you going to be posting the videos on your channel? If so, can't wait to see them. But, just be careful as you're not meant to fly at night time, unless you have permission. So make sure you don't upload anything that'll get you in trouble.

Not sure why the video looks crappy on instagram, it looked great on my iPad Pro when edited with IMovie, maybe because I uploaded it in 4K. Oh, I did the DJI insure, thanks for the heads up and my "mega" package came with only 1 battery... Still, I think it worked to be a quality price regardless as the additional 175$ USD, fits as one of the better prices.

Great review and good instructional. One thing to remember, after the drone has flown, make sure the props do not touch the bottom part of drone. I suggest not touching it either. It's going to be very hot.

I have a question about the stickers. I recently bought a platinum and noticed a small red tag on the back of the camera. I see you still left on in the video as well (shown when the camera is moving after turning on the drone). Is that something that should be left there, or is that a sticker than can be removed?

BMFA liability insurance is only valid if you are flying from a recognised BMFA flying site. Doesn't cover you if you are in a public place such as the beach/park/fields etc.

why are you doing compass and gyro calibration inside of the building?
I've never had a problem calibrating indoors - have you? the DJI Mavic manual (pages 54-55) just states to not do it near strong magnetic interference and that it will warn you if there is.

Should be yeah, I use my Note10+ with my Mavic Mini - the controller is a tight squeeze, but the USB-C connection works well.

Yeah it's a solid drone, I now own a Mavic Mini and I do like that one too, however the non-Mini is more reliable - better connection and has more sensors. The only thing you need to remember is - don't get carried away, always keep it in sight and don't take risks.

Hey mate, if you're comparing the price set by dji.com, then hell yeah, it's A$1,000 cheaper than the Mavic 2 Pro so definitely.

To be honest, I prefer the quality out of the Platinum because the Mavic 2 seems very soft to me... You do get better colour range out of the Mavic 2, but you may find that some of your subjects are unexpectedly blurry. There's more video reviews on this issue. If you're looking for the best quality, I'd go for the Phantom 4 Pro 2.0 which is also A$100 cheaper than the Mavic 2 Pro RRP.

I don't know, I'm debating if I want to continue with this hobby, from the ever changing rules and registration and now with them needing to know were our drones are as soon as we click the on button, It has begun to lose its luster one quick question, is insurance required in your neck of the woods
It's not required here for hobbyists, but I think it's a smart choice to have it just in case.
@@headsoftech I agree 100% , nothing would defuse a situation faster than letting the other party know your insured, I just don't want the FAA to decide this for me, I think most owners of $500.+ Drones have common sense to know that flying in a city where odds are greater for costly mistakes. To be honest is it not what all this hub bub is all about, believing we lack self control at airports or around the public parks, but to be really honest I tend to believe it has more to do with the delivery aspect and how they want the open sky to be for it.

Hi..just got my mavic today. Im used to flying bebop 2. Kinda worried and anxious to fly the mavic tomorrow. Just how reliable this thing it is? With and without gps? Thanks.
DJI drones are the most stable drones to fly. They really just hover (unless you're in very very windy conditions) and only move on command. Just make sure you take it off sport mode when first starting off. Regarding GPS, I've only ever flown mine in GPS mode - that's the default - never had a problem getting signal or seen the option to fly without it. Let me know how your first flight goes.
Version 2.0s are usually nicer ......platinum could be good enough until the mavic 2 goes thru it's issues which everything new has

Hey mate, I personally haven't had any problems flying the drone out in the sea, water damage is covered if you have DJI Care, you just need to make sure to fish the unit out as loss isn't covered.

Hey mate, in this video I was using a S7, I've since switched to an S9 and the USB-C connection is much easier to plug the phone into the controller than the micro USB of the S7.

I honestly don't know, but if I had to guess judging from their recent product launches for the Phantom 4's Pro/Advanced/Obsidian ranges, I'd say USD$1,399, with a sale on later in the year for Black Friday.

Give it a few weeks bro, the DJI Mavic 2 has been spotted, so might be available soon. That way you'll get a better deal on the current gens or buy the hopefully better drone if you got the extra cash.
The Platinum is still darn good and half the price of the 2. $699 one year later

I personally haven't had any troubles with it, but I haven't done it often and now I tend to launch it by hand instead when at the beach.

Ah mate, congrats on your purchase, you probably figured it out by now, but just in case you haven't. Thing might sound dumb, but two things to check - Is your drone turned on? The green battery lights need to stay on, tap on the battery once then hold the second time in succession, just like you do to turn on the remote.
Secondly, in the flap where the SD card is located, is it set to WIFI or RC mode? I put mine in RC and that connects fine with the remote control. In WIFI mode you connect to the drone via the app directly over WIFI. Maybe it's set to the wrong one that you're trying to use?
Let me know how you get on, worst case it could simply be a faulty drone.

Alright dude, I've never had that happen to me, but I just had a look around and apparently if you contact DJI support they tell you this a set of instructions to get your controller and drone re-paired.
1. Power on the Remote Controller and Aircarft.
2. Press the C1 and C2 buttons on the back of the remote controller and the record button.
3. When the remote controller makes beeping sounds press the shutter button.
4. The remote controller will beep quickly and display binding on screen

Dude why would you take off on sand. Even as a beginner I would buy the platform or make one myself. This could void the warranty.
