I didn't realize how much that little 1/4tsp of Xanthan Gum thickens the mixture. I made a batch to just drink as a malt, purposely didn't add Xanthan, and when I hit the go button on my little mixer stuff went EV-RY-WHERE!!! What a mess lol! Lesson learned :)

Nice. Depending on your goals, someone might want to consider Rebel Chocolate milk. It has less protein and more fat/calories than Fairlife, but for those watching their carbs like diabetics, it has a lot less sugar. The xantham gum is a really nice call. I have it for thickening stuff without carbs, but I didn't think about making ice cream with it.

Great video! I've been using my Creami about 4 times a week. My favorite recipes are peanut butter protein powder with Butterfinger bites :)
    1. 1 scoop peanut butter protein powder, 2 (sometimes 3, I really like PB) tbsp great value peanut butter powder, 1/4 tsp xanthan gum, milk, spin up on lite ice cream, then add 3/4 cup of butterfinger bites and remix
2.1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 or 2 tbsp great value peanut butter powder, 1/4 tsp xanthan gum, milk, spin up on lite ice cream, then add 1 piece caramel rice cake (crumble it up), and remix. Its like an ice cream cone now :) I use Quaker brand rice cakes.
3.1 scoop Mint Chocolate Chip protein powder (my powder is white), 1/4 tsp xanthan gum, milk, 1 DROP LEAF GREEN food coloring if using white-ish colored protein powder (from frosting aisle) spin up on lite ice cream, then add 1 piece Quaker caramel rice cake (crumble it up), and remix. IMPORTANT...only 1 (ONE) drop food coloring, 2 MAX!!! Green Leaf gives the light green color.

It’s my understanding that brands such as Lactaid just use lactase to break down the lactose into simple sugars, while Fairlife uses a filtration process to remove most of the lactose, which is why it is lower in sugar than other milks. Their bottles do list lactase as an ingredient, so they must still be using some. My significant other has noticed fewer digestive issues with Fairlife than Lactaid.

In case you're interested, don't waste your time with the fruit ones. They will all taste too artificial and you're better off using real fruit or fruit juice in an ice cream. I take it back, there are two that I recommend. Their mint chocolate one is good, give it a mild mint flavor. But the best one by far is the orange creamsicle flavor. I happen to be a big fan of that flavor - I put in a good vanilla protein powder with it, and the balance of cream/orange was perfect.

Xanthan Gum is a bit more powerful than Guar. Maybe try upping the gum to 1/2 teaspoon. Also, are you running knife around the edge and adding a bit of liquid for the second spin?
Also, adding a bit of high fat cocoa could up the fat percentage and make it a tiny bit creamier too.

I don't like factory farms either. Is there a large milk brand you'd recommend instead?

@@LowCalNinja-qf4ye sadly, I don’t, I live in an area of California where I have access to smaller brands that you can actually go and see their farms. They’re pretty transparent.
By the way, solid video and I appreciate the time and effort man.
Just noticed the fair life and remember seeing some FU€£ED up shit going on there. Take it easy G.

very sorry but the chocolate Jell-o has artificial flavors (that flavor is just a chemical substance and it is not good for your body, not good that all, stay away from whatever contains artificial flavors)😢

Most everything contains "artificial flavors". And "natural flavors" is the most broad term in all the nutritional industry, so if you're uncomfortable with artificial flavors then I better not catch you eating anything with "natural flavors".

I don’t like the taste of chocolate pudding mix, so I buy straight modified food starch, which is the thickening agent in instant pudding mix.

That's unfortunate. You should check out some other videos on my channel (specifically the chocolate protein powder test) to find some recipes that work well for you!
