    thx for your vid ,i am thinking about to buy r62 to replace my eos r which has been reliablely used over 2 years ,I am really not sure about the 6 mega pixels difference would influence the picture quality or not,your vid help me find out the answer.When i got my new r62 i just find out another point-- R is a nice camera if you only shoot static pics ,but r62 makes shooting much more joy ,the pic quality improvement isn't the most important thing,the shooting experience is.

    I don't know why you said the lack of a joystick makes using the evf impossible on the R? On both cameras you are able to use the touchscreen as a trackpad to move the focus point while using the evf. In some cases this method is faster. Hope this helps 😅

    • @juljanskurani
      @juljanskurani  9 месяцев назад

      Yes you can use the touchscreen but I have mentioned before that I personally find that feature slow and annoying and I never used the Eos R with the viewfinder because of that.

      @@juljanskurani Fare enough, Don't know if you're old enough to remember when the first iPhone came out. A lot of people were skeptical of a virtual keyboard. Before the iPhone people used physical keys like blackberries and sidekicks. Overtime people got used to it cause it was the way forward. I got used to the touch focus on the EOS R and got good at it, not because it's the best solution, but because if I wanted to use the EVF, it was my only choice.

    • @dooxietoto
      @dooxietoto 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@juljanskurani what do you mean "slow"? I own both cameras and I find the touch & drag much faster than the joystick. It's as fast as my thumb moves. I assigned the touch & drag on the top right corner of the screen so I don't have to make big movements with my thumb. And another thing about the front button: you can assign the same feature to a button of your choice on the R while on the R6, through the menu, you can have it always on in the EVF/screen.

    • @juljanskurani
      @juljanskurani  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@dooxietoto well it‘s still a touch screen feature. If you want to move the AF point from one corner to the other, you may have to swipe three times to get it across the screen. With the joystick, you just push it on one direction and stay on it until the AF point get‘s there, which I find faster. Not even talking about using it with gloves in the winter or if you are doing street photography in the rain and the screen get‘s wet and unresponsive. That‘s why I prefer the joystick. About the front button, I didn‘t know that feature existed at all, until I discovered it on the R6 II. I guess I had overlooked it in the menus. :)

    I have the EOS R and am considering the R6 Mk II for better focusing reason. But I was wondering if the 30MP EOS R had much better picture quality than the 24MP R6. I think you have helped with my decision. Thank you for the video.

    1:10 Why not the same frame? Next time if you want to make a good comparison: 1. use tripod (same framing), 2. same settings (same aperture and shutter speed; use ISO 100), 3. same focus plane.

      Thank you!! They are a bit different. I haven‘t analysed exactly what it is, but for example I think the R6MkII is more on the green side whereas the R more on the magenta.

    I fully admit I was shocked to see that the EOS R dynamic range was better on highlights, and competitive on the shadows. I have the EOS R and two R5s. I can tell you the dynamic range on the R5s are far superior to the EOS R. Was thinking of selling the R for the R62, and still probably will, but this was a bit disappointing.

    • @juljanskurani
      @juljanskurani  11 месяцев назад

      Yes. You can select the eye/face that the autofocus should track by right/left clicking the joystick. Or you can switch to point af, turn the subject detect off and then put the point on the face you want to detect. Or you can just tap the face you want to detect on the screen.

    What happened to Canon. They seemed to derail themselves after the 5DSR. Their next logical step should have been a 50-megapixel mirrorless retaining the absence of a low-pass filter, and adding 4k FF video and a flippy screen...But instead they took away the dual card slot, put in a lower detail 30mp sensor with a green bias ruining Canon colour science, and further reduced sharpness with a low pass filter...and they still haven't reached 5DSr levels of detail a decade on...The Canon Cripple Hammer is real!

    I found the R6 (mark 1) to be a hot mess. Too many buttons, an archaic menu that needs to be rethought from the ground up, and it cooked itself when filming for 17 minutes. Dead.
    Never used the joystick. Loved the touch screen.
    I dont care for the camera knowing if its a cat, bird, dog or car. Too much pissing around selecting the mode and the shot is gone. too much to think about. I want eyes and spot focus. That’s all. The rest is useless brand posturing.
    Seeing that I sold the R6, the R looks very attractive indeed. At least it wont die if I flip it to video.

    • @juljanskurani
      @juljanskurani  16 дней назад

      Honestly since I got the R6 II, I never used the R over it. It‘s way slower imo. I especially like the option to have a point AF and subject recognition at the same time, that way you can tell the camera where to focus, but if that subject moves around in the frame, it still follows it without you moving the AF point, if you keep the shutterbutton half way pressed. Might sound complicated for your workflow, but I love it! And you always have the option to turn subject detection off which makes it work as a clasic point af. The R6 II has never overheated on me, though I’m aware it does overheat in 4k 60fps after ~40min. I even sold the eos R recently and got the R7 as my B camera instead, because the R just wasn‘t cutting it for Video, which is what I needed a B camera for.

      @@juljanskurani Good to hear, its possible the mkII is a substantially better beast than the 6. When mine died I opted to try a Blackmagic 6K as a repair stand in. Those two events changed my mind forever on the R6. Interestingly shooting with the BM has made me better at being able to film with much older gear such as the 5Dii. Always learning.

    You messed up the test by not having equal settings so this entire video becomes unusable to compare these two cameras.
    Redo your video since you know where your mistake was made. I will not sub or like now. Lost me unfortunately, sir.
    I know that you tried though. It is tough putting together videos. Don't quit. Try again. Good luck, my friend.
