Might be off topic, but imagine the purifier beam is lemon juice (zerglings) banana juice (umm Hydras? Idk) orange juice (roaches) you get the point. The beam is just a ton of juices that is the zerg’s weakness.
Lowko have you noticed that the basic units (high templars, colossi, phoenixes etc) get an additional ability after you play the mission that unlocks them? You had basic laser giraffes in the mission when you got them, but if you look at them now, they have the fire lance upgrade that leaves burning trails on the ground. Every "base" unit is like that. When you use them in the first mission they're "un-upgraded" and then there's 3 separate "upgrades" for them.
And the high templars can replenish shields with his psionic storms making them so powerful when your units combat mele enemies like zerglings or ultralisks
If the creep does recede on this map, then it's A LOT slower than usual. From the looks of things, the player will always finish the map before it even gets to a point where the creep clears off the expansions to be able to put down a Nexus. And even then, I'm still not convinced that the creep from the expansions that the Purifiers destroy actually goes away on this map.
It recedes. I always take the 1st expansion on this mission. I send one lonely probe. Lowko just never checks. He missed 2 expansions on the Rak'shir mission. Edit: At the 30 minute make you can clearly see 3 possible expansion on the mini-map. But Lowko is struggling on one.
in the and he had 0 gas income, and there is no gas in any of the expansions (if I recall correctly), so maxing can only max on santinels - not worth the while...
Reconstruction in the Solar Core is really useful. Most of your army is mechanical including your zealots meaning they all get healed quite rapidly and it also works in unison with the ascendant; whenever they consume an ally they are just healed up to max health afterwards. You should use it next mission ;)
Well, especially considering what the next mission is, and how dependent it will be on air forces, they all benefit. I just discovered this benefit to the ascendant a few days ago myself, after using them for first time ever (that I can recall) and it actually makes the ascendant quite potent, though I still usually prefer darchon or high templar. But also after the next mission when carriers get their repair drones, you can get the same benefit without using reconstruction beam, just not until you get a carrier or two out.
well, Firstborn and Nerazim would know about earth recently but who knows about Tal'darim ? They followed Amon for ages since Amon created Protoss. They spread their wrath across the sector and, maybe, their death fleet were on earth once and purified our dinosaurs.
energizers basically give all your units stims without the health drain before the matrix overload >< also means you can get chrono surge instead of reinforcements if you wish
Unseen in the battle and cutscenes on Endion were a race of cuddly teddy bear creatures who were being rapidly consumed by the Zerg before the planet was purified.
3:40 yet again missing the "upgrades" to the base unit after a choice is available. This time, Collosus set fire on the ground which deals DoT to enemies passing over it. Really wish he'd read those and try em out.
For spell casters, if you're looking for a supportive one to compliment your army, use the regular High Templar; their storms are bigger, do damage to only enemies, and restore shields of those in the storms
Kheidarin Crystals can all be overloaded to fire. It's how photon overcharge works. Any big Protoss computer is also a giant gun. And you need a BIG big computer to run all those Purifier AIs.
I love that final cutscene. The cool music, the slow movement of Cybros, the clouds swirling, the lack of narration... That makes the moment of Cybros firing so much powerful. Only Karax speaks, acknowledging the complete annihilation of life on the whole planet. They are the Purifiers.
ascendents' spells are decent against zerg, but if you really want to use them, you need the 'life regen' upgrade from the solar core. that way you have infinite health for your ascendents to sap :)
No Lowko, the Purifier ship is a Battleship! Not a satellite! Just cause you I said why it has the purification beam! Love you Lowko! Love from Australia!
So here’s some LOTV strategies that revolves around archon immortal robotic support. Damage Output: Warp Harmonization and Matrix Overload + Energizer. This build has maximum damage output via support for archon immortal. The other solarite doesn’t matter, aside from a preferable deploy Fenix to absorb damage. Archon Heavy: This build revolves around the tankiness of shields from the archons and lots of shield restoration for sustainability. This build has Orbital Assimilators so gas is at optimal levels, Temporal rift to slow incoming damage, and has guardian shell to make sure the archons don’t die + Sentry due to the fact that it is literally a mobile shield battery. Keep using storm on the archons to restore shields if things get dicey, but Sentries don’t require as much micro. Then there is the Immortal heavy build. This one’s setup is Temporal Rift (slow damage taken), Warp Harmonization to warp the immortals in, and as shield regen doesn’t matter much because most of that comes from enhanced barrier, so it’s better to restore the HP for the Immortals, so Reconstruction Beam is the best one, as it ensures your immortals will be at max HP at every encounter, and due to the lack of need of shield regen, extra range works best for immortals, so Havocs are the pick. If you do not have the solarite for this, Guardian Shell works decently well, although not nearly as well as Reconstruction Beam, and the warp harmonization is purely so you can replenish army on the go (with the help with Deploy Pylon), so reducing solarite spent on this is Ok. The Damage build requires 50 solarite (pretty cheap on solarite terms), Archon requires 100 (medium level) and optimally Immortal requires 175(Expensive) although it is possible to pull off the altered setup with 100 Solarite
Here is another suggestion: Once you get carriers try using them together with Purifier zealots, Dragoons, Energizers and an arbiter or two plus a Corsair. Set up with pylon attack speed, call reinforcements for free Dragoons and Zealots and either warp in or automatic extractors, and the ability to recall to your nexus. The carriers will heal up your whole army, while arbiters with both make them invisible, protecting the units once you kill the detectors and can recall or freeze a part of the enemy army, making your fights easier. I tried it on a few missions and it was absolutely fun.
I love the way at the end you were inches away from the final objective you needed to destroy and rather than just destroy it and be done you ran half your troops back which took longer than just completing the mission...
the colossus now will burn the ground for 100 dmg each att too, Lowko and I think with the energizer. the warp in reinforcement is worse than the solar lance because of the enegizers for while costing 25 more energy each use
Lowko, after you go to the next “planet”. You will get an air only mission with void rays and carriers. I suggest you try out the reconstruction beam, it is really good if you consider carriers only have a few hundred hp.
If you are planning on using the Ascendants, I recommend you to pick up the Solar Core skill, Reconstruction Beam. You can safely sacrifice health for mana, as health keeps getting restored anyway.
I think I turtled on this map for a long time to get that achievement. In order to not fall below 50% of shield strength I build up an insane amount of static defenses. And used void rays in order to be able to get across the map real fast.
Quote of the day: "Freedom is a delusion granted to the weak by the strong." Reminds me of the amazing movie "Instinct", with Anthony Hopkins, Cuba Gooding Jr. & Donald Sutherland.
Lowko the scientists built the Purifier robots to protect the purifier BEAM. They didn't add a beam to the station they added the robots to the death from above purification beam.
10 thousand years ago, Khalai engineer A: so... we got this bunch of super murderous robot that just murdered a whole bunch of our dudes, I say we just turn them off, put all of them in a ship and leave no one to guard them. Engineer B: Sounds good. Say, do you want to give them a giant space laser that can wipe out all life on a planet with a single shot? Engineer A: Why not? They'll likely be imprisoned for about ten thousand years, surely they'll forgive us by then and not use the said laser on us. I mean, it worked out alright with Illydan and Malfurion... sort of...
That's assuming that the station wasn't designed and built before the Purifiers were ever awakened in the first place. Maybe it is capable of travelling to other planets, and the giant laser was intended to be used against hostile lifeforms elsewhere. Or it's lazy writing.
It is a ship, Lowko just forgets the fact that Artanis called it "their ship" before the last mission. In fact, the ship is along the same lines of design (though I don't know about size/power) as the Spear of Adun. I'm presuming it was built for the purifiers before their rebellion--bear in mind, they were designed for war, so they would need some serious firepower. After they rebelled, they were probably found to be unstoppable, and after a devastating battle the Templar managed to contain them within the first version of the stasis field. I don't know what Blizzard has written on the topic; this is just my interpretation from what is said within the campaign.
Yes, that's what I assumed. It would make sense that Cybros was designed to be a mobile assault/siege vessel that would stay in orbit around a planet and operate from there.
I just read Engineer as Energizer :D By the way I never understand how it was possible for Fénix to have been made into a purifier when they were said to be this dangerous and put into stasis.
those arent regular colossi those have the fire lance upgrade you should check them out , after a unit is unlocked they gain a buff in the war counsel. like stalkers gained the shield buff and immortals gained twice as much shields from their ability after they were unlocked for production
Pro tip lowko, shield batteries and cannons will at least slow them down from destroying the core matrix so you can make it back intime to defend it lol. (p.s they help with base defense aswell lol)
Tritonis I think originally the colossus were the only purifiers and that they were activated during the fall of Aiur. Maybe they changed the lore or I was wrong.
Colossi are just machines with advanced AI like sentries or probes, the Purifiers are basically warriors minds(an AI aproximation) put into machine bodies. Still similar but not the same :3
LeoJesus Hum, not all purifiers. Look, the sentinels are said to be AI but not great warriors spirits. I said that because the colossus is classified as a purifiers in the war council. But yeah, maybe there is purifier colossus and « normals » colosssus. But lore wise, the answer of karama300video sound the more legit :p
I also watched your first legacy of the void play through, i really like that on this play through youre trying out all of the abilitys. You pretty much stuck to the same ones the whole way through the first play through. I think it was chronosurge, solar lance, deploy fenix, reconstitution beam and i cant remember the last one. Haha. I really like your set up your using though, the spped buffs are INSANE.
Getting the third achievement is easy. Kill 2 Null circuits, then leave behind some units and go attack and destroy another set of three. The units left behind can than kill the third circuit and achievement earned. Hope this helps for your achievement run
If there's a caster's curse, there's Lowko's curse. It's pretty much saying you have to do achieve something... and it's gone before finishing that sentence.
4 shield batterys 5 canons and 2 monolith on core matrix and you never need to defend it with your main army and could just roam free around map with no care of life. It is nice that you use at least some static defense but cant but notice you dont see static defense as defense, but just couple canons to hold enemies till you run your army back to the base and defend it XD
syrenet that wont be enough to kill 2 behemots, more like 8 monoliths 8 batteries and 15 cannons, thats how i did it and the only damage the core ever take was from muta shots
Brutal does take quite a lot more stuff. But even discounting that, you also have to place those defenses on the other ramp or you'll get hit from the back.
Ah yes, i suppose i used solar lance when ever there were bigger wave that killed a bit of the defenses. but i doubt that counts as your main force that roams around :p
Yeah, a prison with a feature like THAT is pretty weird. Maybe they needed a really powerful ship/space station to support all this stasis crap for the purifier prison, and so the station happened to just have that ?
Lowko use sacrifice on Purifier Zealot! they can revive =V The Don't lose shield achievement is EZ lowko. Just build 2 arbiter and leave them at the objective. just stasis and recall your army.
Please keep in mind Simon, that with the thumbnail of a Zergling, it makes it look a lot like your standard cast videos. Maybe change it to a purifier colossus or something like that.
Lowko, could’ve used arby with mass recall and have one hover near when pushes come. Awesome vid, keep me coming!! Side note, I always feel bad for zerglings, they are so cute.... 🙃
Thought that you could put some guardian monoliths (whatever they call it) and shield batteries in advance to slow the pushes and make yourself some room for maneuvers. Yeah?
hey lowko, try the finger of god comp in the next mission! carrier, arbiter and corsair combo was called such because it was supposedly unbeatable in brood war
pretty sure dark archons can mind control the hybrids. Also if you mind control a drone or scv you can build their units. Protoss supply limit is actually 600 :P
If you replay the previous mission (unsealing the past) for the achi or just for the fun, use 1 Phoenix to scout the northern part of the map..... easter egg hidden the forest :-D
For the next mission where you get Carriers, go with Arbiters for a superb unit composition. Also pick the Immortal that fires against air units(Nerazim one) and give a thought to using Stalkers as you might require the extra mobility. You will need a lot of anti air. I don't know if you get scouts, but they will be useful, too. Also use dark archons to take over enemy ships.
You don't get Scouts in the Campaign. You can mind control them. Starfighters in the Legacy of the Void Campaign are all completely USELESS against ground units even with their abilities against ground. In fact, they should have went with Scouts than Mirages.
Also using a dark archon to capture a viking is the only way to collect some of the resource pickups. Unless you want to warp-in random pylons and sacrificial zealots to pick up a couple hundred minerals and gas.
It would be cool to see some adept play whit may be some Zel + some Colosus whit that Energiser and pylon Matrix overload some time. And later whene you onlock the carrier you could probably go whit the reconstruction beam Carrier / mother ship or what ever is the other big bad flyers for purifier or nerasim
You should really try out the Adepts tho. They have a much smaller hitbox and it would be easier for them to get the matrix overloard because the dont block themselves.
Im so happy watching your campign playthrough and im so sad that is almost over. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH MY LIFE LOWKO?! 😭 i also like the way reavers looked in starcraft one better, they shouldve left them the same shape and everything and just updated their look a little bit.
Hmm, Starcraft/Star wars, Forest moon/planet of Endor/Endion where it protects a massive, powerful space station, with an energy shield.Blizzard: Nothin to see here
AndyH 1 not exactly. it’s like when you kill an animal, you don’t just eat the edible parts. you would also use the bones for making tools, the hide for leather, the brain for curing the leather, etc. repurposing every part of it to waste nothing.
Those lowko's choices makes me nervous... Those Colossus have 20 dmg/sec when attack, makes a fire wall... For Hydras its insanely powerfull... The Colossus have 15x2 + 20 (50) insta damage per shot (long distance and highly mobility than reaver)
Once fully saturated (3 probes on each mineral patch) there's a probe gathering minerals at all times on each patch, travel speed wouldn't change anything. It would help increase income in the early game, though, just before max saturation has been achieved.
"Poor Zerglings" thats exactly why I like Lowko
Yeah, after all, those zerglings had families.
non-sequitur
Hey! Now.. Show some respect. The Protoss were displaying their emotions for the Zerg.
Also wait... "Dead Zerg and Napalm. The sound of friggin laser beams and Gatling Guns!"

natureshamy every new version of a unit is objectively better
>wants to max out
>doesn't take the first, second, or third expansions opened by the Purifiers
I don't think the expansions can be taken on this map. The developers made it so the leftover creep never recedes.
You totally can though, it just takes a little while.
If the creep does recede on this map, then it's A LOT slower than usual. Next level theory. It wasn’t a meteorite but simply the Protoss.

セララプリア or maybe it was Amon ?
Protoss also build the Pyramids. Obvious a Nexus-like structure. :D

32:16 That's a well made cutscene. The music, the cinematography is so protoss!
energizers basically give all your units stims without the health drain before the matrix overload >< also means you can get chrono surge instead of reinforcements if you wish

Darth Vader won't be all too happy
Not to mention that Alarak looks like Darth Vader and even sounds like Darth Vader :D

I guess Vorazun is Leia?
The lack of static defense to protect the Purifier core was painful.
Indeed, it’s how Lowko failed at getting that achievement

Brutal does take quite a lot more stuff. But even discounting that, you also have to place those defenses on the other ramp or you'll get hit from the back.
Yeah but I think even in brutal (from the looks of it) if he has put more static defense he wouldn't have had to worry about the small waves.
Ah yes, i suppose i used solar lance when ever there were bigger wave that killed a bit of the defenses. but i doubt that counts as your main force that roams around :p
20:41 That Ultralist claw spin. :D
Yeah, a prison with a feature like THAT is pretty weird.
Maybe they needed a really powerful ship/space station to support all this stasis crap for the purifier prison, and so the station happened to just have that ?
Lowko use sacrifice on Purifier Zealot! they can revive =V
The Don't lose shield achievement is EZ lowko. Just build 2 arbiter and leave them at the objective. just stasis and recall your army.
We have seen Zerg infestation pods crash down on planets - we have never seen them get launched into space though, did we?
Interesting.
Yeah?
hey lowko, try the finger of god comp in the next mission! carrier, arbiter and corsair combo was called such because it was supposedly unbeatable in brood war
xsenitel4 easy to beat with defilers and hydras. well, at least that's how I remember it to be. never play air against zerg in bw
pretty sure dark archons can mind control the hybrids. Also if you mind control a drone or scv you can build their units. Protoss supply limit is actually 600 :P
Anything to support lowko 👍
Gets pushed with 300 up left on the obj. As a starcraft one nerd we yell this is why you use the arbidor!!!! Sorry for my spelling from America.
If you replay the previous mission (unsealing the past) for the achi or just for the fun, use 1 Phoenix to scout the northern part of the map..... easter egg hidden the forest :-D
@lowko.. should read and check the high templars and the storm.. its an improved version
Phasing mode power field also have the buff.
Purifier Zealots + reconstruction heal over time + ascendants
Reminder: the colossus with fire lance have improved damage than the vanilla one before, and also good against zerg swarmy
most peaceful death star activation scene i’ve ever watched
I still think the Cybros fireing cuttceane is one of the most badass in this campain.
Lowko, you mentioned that you watch SC1 replays often. Can you please PLEASE please do some SC1 remastered casts?
Like if you agree.
When you get scouts and carriers, go classic SC1 toss.
Or just mass Carriers and attack move ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Especially with the Solar Core ability that repairs them, they wipe the map easily.
Dark Archon's, this! Ur base is nuked 24/7 with battlecruisers and banshees
Well I think with the way things go Lowko will just mass Void rays
This warrior awakens!
I swear I kept thinking you'd sped up the gameplay because of how matrix overload effects the units
We feel your presence.
Hmm, Starcraft/Star wars, Forest moon/planet of Endor/Endion where it protects a massive, powerful space station, with an energy shield.Blizzard: Nothin to see here
So Fenix recycling purifiers is technically cannibalism?
And by the way Clolarion is the carrier man.
AndyH 1 not exactly. it’s like when you kill an animal, you don’t just eat the edible parts. you would also use the bones for making tools, the hide for leather, the brain for curing the leather, etc. repurposing every part of it to waste nothing.
This station is basically a huge Void Ray
Next time you want to wait for shields to recharge build a battery.
Those lowko's choices makes me nervous... Those Colossus have 20 dmg/sec when attack, makes a fire wall... For Hydras its insanely powerfull... The Colossus have 15x2 + 20 (50) insta damage per shot (long distance and highly mobility than reaver)
Mech slugs = Best slugs
(Not really, the #1 Slug is still Abby :3)
portal is, next to starcraft, one of my favorite games.
I wonder if the sentries can speed boost the probes to speed up the economy in the beginning?
Lowko could you use the matrix overload and a pylon by your workers to speed up workers ?
It doesn't work though for some reason. You can manually energize them with the energizers but the gathering mineral itself is still the same.
Even if it is, travel time reduction would be huge... or could be anyway
Once fully saturated (3 probes on each mineral patch) there's a probe gathering minerals at all times on each patch, travel speed wouldn't change anything.
It would help increase income in the early game, though, just before max saturation has been achieved.
Fenix is the main reason i got the mastery achievement on this mission, he can solo 2 of the big hybrids
would shield batteries help recharging the core shields faster?
I have found that you can use arbiters to cloak mining operations!
Alarak has such heavy armor!
Pros of Reavers : Reavers
Cons of Reavers : Reavers
Hey Lowko, does the pylon speed boost work on mining probes...?
And just like that reavers and dragoons move with ease :O :D
