If you go "Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, and Right" (easter egg about Konami code) from starting position in this mission, there should be new button available on control screen, that will allow you to summon support unit for this mission - someone who loves to travel in rocket blue toilets.
"But I so enjoy our exchanges!" That is one of Alaraks best lines, just because it is incredible voice acting once again. You can hear the irony leaking out of every sillable.
18:00 Plot point that I love even if it's almost guarenteed to be a complete coincidence. In WoL, there's only one terran who can hack Dominion systems and it takes him a few days. in BW, the UED is at least a century more advanced then the Terrans and so hacked their network fast enough that the Dominion didn't have a clue until the UED stole their battlecrusiers. In this mission, the best phasesmith of the most advanced race in the universe hacks into Mobious's computers in two minutes despite having no experience with Terran tech until Lotv kicked off.
Protoss OP, plz nerf! Seriously though: Not surprising considering they commonly use technology that is beyond human understanding - like their warp technology or that crystal matrix thing in WoL that drew energy from seemingly nowhere and actively improved the ship's systems, everything grown from a tiny fragment.
On the other hand, Protoss are not much for lateral thinking, which is something Terrans do best. Which just goes to show how great Karax is, and why he's deserving of his promotion.
*LOWKO TAKE REPAIR BEAM PLEAAAAASE* You dont know what you're missing PD: 37:49 INTERCEPTORS ARE FREE!! They cost 10 SECONDS to make, not 10 minerals lol
AND DARK ARCHONS If you take control over enemy mechanical units they are repaired with the repair beam and you can get a large air force of battle cruisers with little to no mineral cost to yourself. Carriers are one of my favorite units, but FREE battle cruisers are even better.
By being reborn, Fenix has entered a zone that is very sparsely populated. Sure, he could just go on pretending he is exactly like his first incarnation. But that would be false, because he's a robot. Whether he's sentient or not, his physical frame and POV have changed. I love that he is at that point where it's all about self-exploration and he still orients himself on society. That shit is deep. He could completely re-discover himself, but of course he has to honour his fallen self by picking up the same battle.
A perfect copy of a mind might not be achievable. But we could get close enough that it doesn't matter. In any case, the copies would have different experiences and immediately diverge thus becoming again unique entities. Assigning a new name to a new being seems only logical.
Definitely one of my favorite missions. FYI: there are floating mineral patches in the middle left and bottom right of the screen. If you destroy the top right base but leave the power core, you can do a near map clear and give yourself time to get all the pickups for the achievement.
When I did this mission I overestimated my air army, and for this I lost the whole of it at the last minute. I had NO GAS to fall back on to. My logical response? SPAM ZEALOTS UNTIL IT FALLS....somehow it worked
Dude its been 13 minutes in-game already and you completely forgot about your warp harmonization. WARP YOUR CARRIERS INTO BATTLE smh lowko smh Edit: 24 minutes in-game and you finally realized it thank you man
I think indeed for many resource-scarce missions the dark archon is terrific. Commanding a fleet of battlecruisers in this mission makes life quite a bit easier. Also I think there are a lot of missions where mass avenger is a great option. You can start attacking much earlier because sniping detection at least temporarily is viable; enemy orbitals have cooldowns though. If you pour 25 avengers into a base you can do a lot of damage until your avengers are all killed, and you pay nothing!
MagionMenno or carriers, since carriers in the campaign create free interceptors, and once the upgraded version of it is unlocked, it'll heal itself plus one ally(sentinels are unkillable) thats why i finished campaign on brutal using ascendants sentinels adepts energizer carrier combo, then another fun combo i used is ht mothership vanguard, gues the idea behind it
A comment about Fenix wanting to change his name: I think it's a really smart and safe move to change his name. It's like creating a new Save File. You ensuring no tarnishing of your old name and legacy.
I've always loved zerging them with sentinels. Just rebuilding themselves when they die and relentlessly attacking. Tossing in some mirages for taking out air units.
2:30 He probably developed his persuasiveness during his time as hierarch. You have to be pretty convincing and persuasive to lead both the Aiur protoss and the Shakuras Nerazim. :)
I know you won't see this but you should try this after you get carriers Reconstruction beam and Mass Carriers, Chrono Boost, Temporal Field, Gas Assimilater( In last mission) / Warp Harminize (other missions),shield overcharge
I really like the "Deploy Pylon" ability on this mission. Just because if my buildings get unpowered by an attack out of nowhere I can repower them quickly. It can also help give you more vision on areas outside the platform.
Hello Lowko, I have been watching and enjoying your content for awhile now and I have been enjoying your insights and commentary. I am kind of a newb to Starcraft II having only just being exposed to it through one of your videos featuring Scarlett whom I am now a huge fan of. Thank you for enhancing my days and keep up the excellent content. You have my subscription for life Bra!
I'm not sure whether we as a people will ever be able to replicate a person's mind and consciousness and load it into a synthetic brain- simply because it's possible we may never be able to accurately replicate the human brain. I remember a saying I once heard about this that might be close to the truth: "If the brain was simple enough for us to understand, we would be too stupid to understand it."
Perhaps it is the case :) Though with time everyone can understand and even among stupidity there are some mighty individual, exceptional ones that defies our own limits.
Well for now computer are based on binary core (yes or no) but there are research in order to make more complex core (yes, no, perhaps, whynot, ...) so it is just a matter of thecnology and as Karax already told nature is the more complex and beautiful machinery
5:25 'Hierarch, sometimes I think the only reason I remain on this ship is to listen to these wonderful speeches of yours.' When everyone else is occupied, Karax can display the elite battle commander skills he's kept hidden from the others all this time so as not to make Artanis feel hopelessly inferior.
A similar situation was explored in Star Trek TNG. A transporter accident copied Riker, with one copy returning to the ship and to everyone else remaining William Riker. The other copy, discovered 10+ years later, was trapped on an abandoned station, after discovery and re-intergration Riker 2 took up the name Thomas Riker (i think his middle name or father's name) and to the federation legally was William's twin brother and had the rank William had at the time of accident (Lieutenant) with 10 years competent but uneventful service credit (no awards but no disciplinary actions, unlike will who had equal amounts) towards promotion.
In this mission I personally found Dark Archons ideal. You have limited resources and will frequently be attacked by Battlecruisers and/or Banshee's. Free units right there.
Fenix's case is interesting, as Clolarion clearly doesn't distinguish between himself and the once living Clolarion. I reckon it's because Fenix's original self is only a few short years in the past, that and off course the confusion of reading of things Fenix experienced and did.. yet which he can't remember. Technically the Brood War was like.. what, 5 years before WoL?
i cant beleive he forgot about the warp harmonisization on his stargates it allows for so many more units to be pumped out faster than just building them normally.
sorry for so many posts, but i think you should play it again with all the different abilitys/units thatd be best. I think most people would like it and not have a problem watching it!
32:15 FINALLY !!!!!!! i was asking myself the whole time WHEN WILL HE NOTICE ??! luckily you did :) thank you 35:46 also its 10 seconds not 10 minerals for interceptors
There are two Options for Fenix imo: a) He brakes with his past, accepts, that hes another being and trys to make his own legacy. b) He accepts his past, that he IS Fenix reborn and builds just onto that.
I think during the campaign it was said that the purifiers are 99.9% exactly the same as the protoss they represent. The 0,1% choices that differ to the „real“ personality probably being a cause of just knowing that he isn’t the real one. Its hard to tell. On the one hand they are almost the same as their origins but on the other hand stands the butterfly effect. Doing little thing differently over the lifetime can make quite a different person out of them. So its hard to draw a line here. Still I think in Fenix case the real one is dead and id just keep that name. He has the memories of the real one almost up to the point he died and filled his memories with mission he died now as well. Mean there is no thing that Fenix knew that he does not - which again mean he exactly started out as Fenix here. And since the real one is no more, we wouldn’t have something to compare the choice differences to - which makes the need of being considered as a different person unnecessary. But yeah hard to tell...
What you're talking about here is actually echoed in-game, both by fenix and by other characters on the spear (specifically Vorazun). The purifiers have the same memories as the living protoss they were cloned from, but have had vastly different life experiences and now have outlived them by millenia and exist in a completely changed society. It's up to each and every one of them to decide whether *they* believe they're just the continuation of the previous personality that was scanned (as in, if who they are is the sum of their experiences and memories) or if they constitute entirely new beings that merely hold the memories of the protoss that was their progenitor. Our only view point for this very personal process (at least, so far, since no purifier characters have shown up in any media since lotv except for some unnamed disruptors in the Evolution book) is Fenix and the way he sees how his flesh and blood self changed and achieved so much after the brain scan, meeting new friends and leading the charge in battles across the sector and he (Spoilers, i guess, for anyone who hasn't played lotv to the end) eventually decides that he's *not* the fenix that defended aiur, fought against the conclave, defended the warp gate from the zerg while his people escaped, and eventually died at the hands of kerrigan. He feels like he's a new person, and adopts the name of Talandar to reflect that
Karax says they're an approximation, artanis asks how precise of an approximation and Karax replies that they are within the 99 percentile, then Artanis asks Karax how much difference 1% difference would mean on the choices he's made in his life. 99% is very inaccurate when you take into consideration the billions of choices everyone takes their entire life...or Septillions I guess when dealing with such long-lived people as the Protoss.
Lowko, if you want to experience how to fenix feels to be cloned(like downloading your memories to the other body) then I would like to introduce you to "Soma". Its game and I would like to see you play it, its worth it man. I guarantee it
Man I really wish when he goes "This upgrade would be perfect for this mission" he would just go ahead and switch them out. Most of the missions are able to be brute-forced but it's far more satisfying to watch someone "exploit" the perfect spear of adun upgrades.
I'm sorry Lowko, I can't help but laugh how long it took you to remember you had Warp Harmonization! Also, the Interceptors (and a Reaver's Scarabs) doesn't cost a single mineral in the campaign. What you quickly looked at was the build time.
32:00 HAIL HYDRA! 35:45 Lowko, that's 10 seconds. Lowko, if you read this you should replay this mission and use the button panel to put in "the code." You know, the one Nintendo is famous for. You'll really enjoy what pops out.
My graphics card is shot... I can only play this game on the lowest available graphics. Literally this channel is the only way I can see textures on anything in this game... taking my system in for a fix tomorrow though, hopefully it will be fixed.
by the way, now that the carriers are unlocked they come with reconstruction drones, i advise returning to the purifier zealots, those can get repaired.
Alarack: But I enjoy our exchanges Me: OOHHO I do aswell trust me, I really do it’s hilarious

With every teleportation a protoss dies and a new perfect copy is being made (physics). Fenix is no different. If I were him I wouldn't bother too much.
With this mission, I recognize few resources and capital ships. I end up going Deploy Pylon (need to save all the minerals we can), Orbital Strike, Nexus Overcharge (gotta have some D), Shield Overcharge (given most of it is island hopping with AA needed, Fenix is useless on this), Reconstruction Beam (easier to get back to full health), and Time Stop. Do this, along with microing your carriers, and the mastery achievement on Brutal is a piece of cake.
Reconstruction beam is by far the most powerful perk you can get, I mean sure matrix overload is nice, but in the mid-end to end game you're only going to have mech units. The enemy as well. How I did it was to use only mech units and Dark Archons to steal their battlecruisers/carriers/voidrays. It's pretty fun and OP :D. I would prioritize upgrading the shields 1st instead of armor , since you have shield regen aux power.
If you really wanna maximise the units you can put into the power field for matrix overload, you should consider taking the adepts instead of the dragoons. Much smaller hitbox and you dont need to micro their shades, you can but it is not necessary
Karax must've been like "Oh, right, the jungle worlds with the beaches, epic zerg battles that's all big ol' hero jobs. But once there's a mechanical puzzle involved - go on, get the Kalai. Figures. Freaking primitive terrans. Even Artanis could hack this network. I'd be surprised if ..... oh, nope, done. Well, let's go fix that goddamn probe that keeps showing up broken at the solar core I guess. "
When Fenix was added as a Co-op Commander there was a backlash among serious lore fans that he wasn't called "Talandar", the name he ends the LotV campaign with. Brilliantly, they added an optional upgrade where you can change his name during a co-op mission! You always know how seriously someone takes Starcraft lore based on whether refer to the character as Talandar!
The probe likes to be called Tim, and it is unpopular for zapping all its probe-mates. As time went by and Tim didn’t behave, the other probes requested for Tim to be moved to the bridge. The collosus is known as Shorty, as it is only 152 ft. tall, and not 157 ft. as normal collosi. This due to an error at the Robotics Facility caused by a rogue zergling getting inside the facility.
Purifiers use internet and it's better than Khala since Amon is too old to understand how it works. Most wise.
LMAO
Lol nice
I guess Amon is a boomer
Interceptors don't cost any mineral in the campaign.
What you saw was 10 seconds not minerals.
Tipical Lowko
Sadly, friendly Marines do not regenerate shields when hit by storms. #nvr4get
Lucklaster nice one.
obviously friendly marine: mind if we tag along?
Tassalowko: nope, STORM STORM
I clicked the link... Guess what I expected?
If you go "Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, and Right" (easter egg about Konami code) from starting position in this mission, there should be new button available on control screen, that will allow you to summon support unit for this mission - someone who loves to travel in rocket blue toilets.
"Welcome back to my Legacy of the Void playthrought".
And just like that, a smile on my face.
"Don't forget to smile." :)
"But I so enjoy our exchanges!"
That is one of Alaraks best lines, just because it is incredible voice acting once again. You can hear the irony leaking out of every sillable.
He has more nice quotes, like "Urgh your ship is too bright it pain my eyes!" or "Ehr this ship is stiflin'"
I love Alarak's personalilty...
Hybrid: die
Karax: no u
Hybrid: **dies**
And people say my boy Karax is good only for defence & cannon rushes
brother Jerian Only when Karax decides to walk is he a walking ball of death.
Everyone knows he's a real nice mass Carrier boi
I always play him cannons into carrier rush, occasionally energizer support. He's my main.
Cannon rush Amon, why not?
18:00 Plot point that I love even if it's almost guarenteed to be a complete coincidence. Imagine Stetmann being the first human to understand the Protoss matrix technology.
With the help of Terrazine, of course. ^^
On the other hand, Protoss are not much for lateral thinking, which is something Terrans do best. Which just goes to show how great Karax is, and why he's deserving of his promotion.
He probably just bruteforced with matrix overload.
Shawn A
Finally we are getting the campaign mission. I also like how lowko didn't turn his stargates to warp stargates until later on in the game.
Classic Lowko.
classic Lowko alzheimer
The reason the rally probes command didn't work at 42:15 was because you rebuilt the Nexus 1 spot over to the right from its original location.
had to scroll looong way down.... i guess no1 else noticed?
Alarak stare to Karax before the mission like he saying with his eyes 'I'll kill you if you fail" lol
Precious!
This would have been the perfect mission for Dark Archon
OMG
Yes. Take all those BCs, Banshees, Vikings, etc.
I think he should take the Tal'darim Mothership and the Dark Archon for the missions on Aiur
The mothership is straight up op. Darchons are hilariously great as well. The Aiur missions are made 1000 times easier with them.
*LOWKO TAKE REPAIR BEAM PLEAAAAASE*

By being reborn, Fenix has entered a zone that is very sparsely populated.
Sure, he could just go on pretending he is exactly like his first incarnation. But that would be false, because he's a robot.

Lowko: ''Let's go and activate my lance''
George Takei: Oh my...!
omg you could have used the warp harmonization, you forgot it 😂😂
Dehaka would love to be in this campaign. A lot of essence talk going around!
A perfect copy of a mind might not be achievable. But we could get close enough that it doesn't matter. In any case, the copies would have different experiences and immediately diverge thus becoming again unique entities. Assigning a new name to a new being seems only logical.
Agamemnon same as karax said
Kerrigan: When it rains, it pours. ( Brood war )
Raynor: When it rains, it floods.
( Legacy of the void ) Lul xD
When it rains, it hurts. ;(
When it rains, it is wet.
When it rains it kills
When it rains, it's an apocalypse
When it rains, it supernovas
Definitely one of my favorite missions. FYI: there are floating mineral patches in the middle left and bottom right of the screen. If you destroy the top right base but leave the power core, you can do a near map clear and give yourself time to get all the pickups for the achievement.
When I did this mission I overestimated my air army, and for this I lost the whole of it at the last minute. I had NO GAS to fall back on to. My logical response? SPAM ZEALOTS UNTIL IT FALLS....somehow it worked
Well Lowko had to use his excess minerals on rebuilding the Nexus, lol
Dude its been 13 minutes in-game already and you completely forgot about your warp harmonization. WARP YOUR CARRIERS INTO BATTLE smh lowko smh
Edit: 24 minutes in-game and you finally realized it thank you man
I hated it, it was horrible watching lowko not use even though it's one of the strongest passives in the game.

Yeah, carrier/energizer is a combo that makes Karax really satisfying to play in the mid game.

Reynor qualified for GSL Code S, 2018 season 3! Oh, and mind conttol BC is the most fun, but time-consuming way of beating Templar's Charge.
The hybrids' ultimate weakness: Karaxs' roasts.
Its not 10 minerals to build an inteceptor but it takes 10 seconds to build an interceptor.
About the uploading minds thing, I recommend the book 'I am legion (I am Bob)' about a guy who faces this situation
i cant beleive he forgot about the warp harmonisization on his stargates it allows for so many more units to be pumped out faster than just building them normally.

I agree. I really depends on the individual personality. An interesting technology nonetheless. ^^

You know, I like this Lowko guy. He's good people.
gawd damnit Lowko... i was going to bed... love the series! always remember to smile :D
Karax may be one of my favorite character.
The repair beam was sooooo good on this map.
the probes that Lowko accidentaly left must feel like Kerigan when mengsk left her xD
When the mission started, there was a probe at the bottom of the Nexus for a while. He was not doing anything
It is time for another professional episode of SC2 LotV campaign!
"What about Stuart then?"
"I like this name hierarch, I'm honored."

Alarak...more like Troll-arak.
I'll go grab my coat and leave.
44:46 But Karax's truly most powerful weapon, no not cannon, no, not carriers, but FLOATING buildings.
Whaaaaaaaaat!
My graphics card is shot... I can only play this game on the lowest available graphics. Literally this channel is the only way I can see textures on anything in this game... taking my system in for a fix tomorrow though, hopefully it will be fixed.
Amon from the void: Amon
Amon from Jamaica: AYY MON!
psst, Lowko, 31:20 you can make your base run away~
also, ahem, "omg Lowko, i cant believe you forgot to get the tauren marine blah blah blah."
by the way, now that the carriers are unlocked they come with reconstruction drones, i advise returning to the purifier zealots, those can get repaired.
Alarack: But I enjoy our exchanges
Me: OOHHO I do aswell trust me, I really do it’s hilarious
Oh and for the pickups: That's what a stalker is for.
Lowko, the interceptors do not cost 10 minerals each, they each take 10 seconds to build XD they are free.
Lowko, please try out the units that didn't get into the battle yet, I really want to see how Adepts and Arbiters perform.
Correction Lowko: Interceptors don't cost 10 minerals each they're free, that's their cooldown
16:09 Alarak's mind: "don't fuck everything up nerd!"
35:45 Lowko they dont cost u anything they build 10 second F
Warlord karax sounds like a description of my play style
Try the adepts, Lowko! Don’t get fooled by their multiplayer persona, in the campaign they can also attack air units!
Lowko, you said the interceptors cost 10 minerals each, but in fact they are free, only cost 10 seconds to produce them
Reconstruction beam is by far the most powerful perk you can get, I mean sure matrix overload is nice, but in the mid-end to end game you're only going to have mech units.
29:04 “cool story bro, don’t care” *TURTLE*
When Fenix was added as a Co-op Commander there was a backlash among serious lore fans that he wasn't called "Talandar", the name he ends the LotV campaign with. Brilliantly, they added an optional upgrade where you can change his name during a co-op mission! You always know how seriously someone takes Starcraft lore based on whether refer to the character as Talandar!
David Japuntich still wont do the 13/13 upgrade just to change the text
The probe likes to be called Tim, and it is unpopular for zapping all its probe-mates.
As time went by and Tim didn’t behave, the other probes requested for Tim to be moved to the bridge.
The collosus is known as Shorty, as it is only 152 ft. tall, and not 157 ft. as normal collosi. This due to an error at the Robotics Facility caused by a rogue zergling getting inside the facility.
That video editing clap had me rolling
You rebuiled Nexus to close to the edge, that's why probes were left behind.
Lowko looking at the Mirage: IS THIS A CORSAIR?
gets warp harmonization, doesn't warp a thing and chornes carriers out
doesn't build enough probes to saturate his base, gets frustrated that his minerals are taking forever to mine out, leaves some minerals behind.
Purifier beam+Fenix=Purifier combo
The energizers are insane. Try boosting your probes with them to make them mine faster
He forgot about warp harmonization........
Watching your SC 2 videos alway make my day
Storywise this is the most enjoyable mission of the LotV campaign (omitting epilogue)
