I haven't watched sc2 pro play since TotalBiscuit's last tournament. It's good to see the pro scene still going, and seeing people perform the extractor trick takes me back to wings of liberty days.
Lowko I just wanted to let you know that I shared your ice cream rant with people who know nothing about Starcraft 2 and they were fully on board with it.
My issue with zerg now is the other races have strengths and the serg just have...Units. every game is an uphill battle with higher difficulty and worse units at every stage of the game. It doesn't even feel good when zerg wins because it takes SO much to do it. And its mostly because they balanced zerg around 1 player who used everything to such an inhuman level that nobody else gets to have fun.

Raynor and Swann, Kerrigan and Abathur take on the attacking Amon Forces against Earth to remove any Terran intervention for Korpulu and Solaris Sector.
Seeing Astrea play like this against Serral is really promising for his future in competitive gaming. Or, an omen of Serral falling a bit behind on his position as the unbeatable Zerg.
in game 2, serral had only killed a single probe before 21 minutes. It seems that he isn't playing aggressive openings in favor of an earlier and drawn out mid-game, which is letting the protoss power up more and be able to more easily defend against an earlier timing attack. Zerg still needs to capitalize on a stronger early game (you even mentioned in another video how zergs are even skipping zergling speed, which I think is too passive as zerg) in order to be able to end the game before protoss powers up fully. The fact that Astrea had 15-20 workers up on Serral the first 20+ minutes of that game is astonishing!
also possible our units are trash late game compared to other late game units. And they still have the same cost/supply. Our units need a supply reduction and minor cost decrease across the board to keep the idea of remax over and over army and mixed unit comps. Theyre too weak for mid and late game. Its just bad design and trying to force balance that isnt working.
you know balance is fucked when not even THE top protoss can handily slap around THE best zerg/player in history no shade to astrea, happy protoss finally stand any chance, but it sucks that chance came about because of repeated, blatant anti-zerg balance targeting

on a serious note, ive noticed protoss are running out of units that havent been nerfed yet so i think we need to make the stalker cost 150/150. zerg need queens and since their cost was increased we should increase the damage and range of the queen by 2 each and lower the cost of hatches to 175 mins i think
I think Astrea should’ve faked the all in and taken a ninja base while warping in stalkers at his proxy location. Then he can take his “third base” and it looks like he’s just behind
Can we just revert to one of the patches from before the 'community' took over balance? Zerg late game in general is currently very weak and terrans get relatively stronger at every patch.
Honestly serral should have pull the bandaid after that tempest,templar arcon combo kill that base for the 3rd time. His cash wasn't getting better and the toss upgrades was getting better . Wp pross pretty nice

In my mind there are 2 major archetypes of play in SC2: you have Korean chaos from players like Dark and Rogue and you have European efficiency, patented by Serral. Then you have American goofball behavior invented by Astrea.
In 2nd game that army of Astrea could be killed by some mass ground like ultras or even roach/ravager ignoring tempests as their dpm low in straight up fight. Killing ground and dealing with air after that should have worked. Broods were totally useless. What do you think men?
It is not that easy because toss have immortal archon and ultras kinda suck. Astrea also got much more resources to work with. Zerg need at least one more good late game unit imo

I’m glad the replies are at least able to comprehend that, contrary to popular belief, Protoss units actually don’t move and attack independently of one another and cast spells and such all on their own. Also, if Protoss wasn’t good in the lategame, what the hell advantage do they even have? Their early and mid game is massively weaker. It’s almost like the giant, expensive, high-tech spaceships and gigawizards SHOULD be good units, and not rolled over by Zerg units every single game without resistance…

I really love the mothership change this patch. A complete 180 to its value from last patch. It is very strong which is what it should be. If they will nerf it next patch, i hope they just nerf the damage numbers or hp, or make it more expensive and not revert any of the changes they made.

Basically already lost, but cuz race is zerg is still in the game and able to make a lategame out of it. He didnt make vipers. the unit you need. regardless of feedback, vipers have energy drain from buildings to regain energy, added to that, even if the tempest are in the air, vipers can still abduct too forward positioned archons. Fly over cliffs and abduct tempest that way, where archons cant reach. There are a plethora of options serral just didnt have the braincells to use. added to that the hotkey groups is bs, u dont need a seperate control group for viper, just stack them with the corruptors. Third, the only true lategame scenario for serral at that point is to max out on a bank, trade his BL for mass ultra, and wipe the ground army, then swoop in with corruptors. Storm cant handle that, archons trade cost efficient vs ultras but only by the 'unlimited' mineral margin. Archons cost much much more gas to recouperate. (wich toss shouldnt have cuz the race is perma gas starved) And obv corruptor destroy tempest. Protoss army is known to take long to remake, and zerg can just spam cracklings, wich still havnt received a proper nerf, and destroy economy and nexi on the outskirts. Reset the game and zerg can take over. Shame serral just isnt good enough of a starcraft player to make that kinda play happen.

If its milk or white, they just like sugar. The darker is more chocolate than sugar... 70-90% is great. 100% pure coco is rough but 80% dark is my favorite.

I've always been doing the extractor trick as Zerg. It just made sense to do while waiting for the Overlord to finish hatching
Watching tempests shoot stuff from safe distance with archon templar underneath makes me want to vomit my guts out.
Lowko's narration is the only way I can truly enjoy Star Craft. I'll watch it, but my heart won't be in it.
20:45 feedback might be the reason why. It's infuriating as a zerg to play against HT, storms and feedback are a pain to fight against.
