same, i pre-orderd the game when it came out, when i got the key, played and saw that in the second mission my favourite caracherd died i wasnt happy, i actually tought that Zeatul would have a little more screen time...
yea I cried too... his only purpose was finding redemption for his actions by tring to save his people and universe from amon he did succeed but will never know his success by the way... what kind of strike was that he literally turned into dust... I think if it wasnt he should be revived as dragoon :D by the way wouldnt it be cool if protoss turned a TERRAN into dragoon? or someting like that :P
Lowko, in the case you didn't know (just for storytelling), Adun was a powerful ancient protoss executor, that was once comanded to execute the rogue protoss that had cut their head organs in order to preserve their individuality instead of being linked to the khala. Adun instead of executing them faked their deaths and hid them. But once discovered by the conclave, all of the rogues were send in a ship into space, and Adun sacrificed himself in order to save them. Adun toridas means: Adun hide you.
Adun was also the first Twilight Protoss who can harness both Templar and Nerazim energies. It was said that in great distress he would return. Tassadar would later fulfill that who would also become the same as Adun's sacrifice: using both Nerazim and Templar energy to avoid a greater threat.
This is also part of why Ouros' deception in pretending to be tassadar is so effective on Zeratul- because the nerazim myth of the "twilight messiah" returning in times of great need was sort of true with the way tassadar did what he did- so him coming back to help the protoss avert their extinction totally fits within the nerazim religion
nah, Zeratul fells more like Mediv from Warcraft universe. Old man who ran around with prophecies trying to fix past mistakes. Now Fenix, on the other hand...
Definitely Wrath of the lich king, Totally agree, lowko! I just personally love Arthas as a person, he just sacrificed everything for, from his point of view, was at start a greater good. But he got "corrupted" and used. That trailer is just like.. ahhhh.. i wanna be with him :(
Well if you want more lore, I got something for Shakurus lore. You remember Taldarin from Fenix's co-op kit? Well the original one is playable from the Stukov series of extra missions from BW (ones that explains his story of dead to alive to infested) When you meet Taldarin, he says was the the first Dragoon and was in Cyro for over 3000 years and fought alongside Adun. Chris Metzen later said to ignore the number 3000 because they just picked a big number before mapping the timeline and that the real number was much lower. If you talk to Vorazun on Sharkurus, they talk about how Adun was the one who chose to exile the Dark Templar when it was exile or murder them. Since Zeratul is about 650 and is one of the few DT to know Aiur's location prior to reunifcation, that makes it so that their exile/Adun's late feats was in Zeratul's lifetime.
The nerazim were exiled from shakuras a little less than a thousand years ago, Raszagal was a child when they first left aiur (and she personally met adun/was part of why he helped them after meeting her and realising they had no ill intents and just wanted to live their lives) Zeratul would've been part of the first generation of nerazim born on shakuras. It's never really remarked upon, but the first time he saw his homeworld was when he had to go protect it from a threat he himself accidentally led to it, which is kind of sad when you think about it
Probably it hasn't aged well, but the cinematic from Broodwar still gives me goosebumps. Grim, dark, captures the desperation of hopeless terrified marines figthing in a trench against thousands of zergs. And DuGalle and Stukov were amazing characters.
To a Nerazim say "My life for Aiur" specially after all Zeratul has endured... first time I saw this scene I cried, and until nowadays it gives me goosebumps...
Selendis does too. Protoss don't have concepts of nicknames. Probably because they don't use mouths (unlike the lesser beings) to communicate and don't need to shorten names.
John Merces I can feel your anger... yes... Yes... YES!! TAKE YOUR WEAPON, STRIKE ME DOWN!! and your path to the hybrid side will be complete. (Artanis) ok! Kills zeratool
I realy love the Cinematic Trailer for the Classic WoW so many years ago. The part with the dwarf on the mountain near Ironforge and his bear. Freaking awesome.
That SC1 cut-scene with the marine searching the base and then sneak attacked by a hydra. Both the coolest and scariest cinematic I have ever seen. A close second is both the LoTV and HoTS opening cinematic. Both are super epic.
Favourite custscene was the one between act 3 and 4 for Diablo 2, where we witness the transformation of Diablo. Starts of showing us all around, then everything builds up, the music, the tension, the sense of urgency all to the battle ahead beyond that portal.
I love that in the middle of the starcraft mission he cuts to the Wrath Trailer. Easily my favorite trailer from them to this day too. Still gives me chills everytime i see it. Hell it almost brings me to tears with all this new lore being brought up
"My life for Aiur" -Zeratul Even after being exiled from Aiur in the past, Zeratul offer his life for the greater good of the entire protoss race..... En taro Zeratul
Basicly the Protoss Khala and the Zerg hive-mind are the same, although practicly they have differences, they share the same network override that the Xel'Naga Amon used to control them.
One underrated tip for the protoss campaign is to make sure you have solid sim city. You can often make solid wall offs with your structures that end up paying off in a big way and the starting configurations generally are set up so that you can do it easily.
Favourite cinematic is probably the one at the end of Warcraft 3 where Archimonde dies on the World Tree to a ton of wisps. Runners up: the one earlier in the game where Archimonde destroys Dalaran with sand magic; the one from Starcraft where the zerg travel through a wormhole; the one where Tassadar destroys the Overmind; and the one where the Xel'Naga temple explodes on Shakuras.
Love the Warcraft 3 intro cinematic. "We never paid any heed to the ancient prophecies. Like fools we clung to the old hatreds. And fought as we had for generations. Until the day the rained rained fire..."
Agreed WOTLK trailer sung by the choir boy "Falsettos" is quite moving and goes well with the animation. Was one of my favorites for sure and gave me literal chills when I first saw it.
I like the two SC1 trailers, with the terran outpost shooting a dragoon and then getting destroyed by cloaked protoss. All the terran scinematics of Starcraft 1 are amazing. The Earth Admirals observing the terran colonists fighting zergs in the trenches are super cool too, in SC1 Broodwar.
BTW at the start of the video since the time skip is not defined you can imagine that Zeratul needed like day to prepare and reach the void seeker. It was never said that it was 10 minutes ago or anything.
My favorite cinematic is in wc3 when archimonde builds a sand castle and destroys dalaran. the one where he gets blown up by wisps is a close second though.
Cool easter egg, if you have Artanis as your menu background he'll be equipped with Zeratul's gauntlet however when Artanis puts the gauntlet away in the menu Artanis instead is equipped with his own Psi blade ^_^
my fave blizzard cinematic would definitely be Heart of the Swarm intro. It's kinda satisfying seeing the zerg swarm the city completely. It also really captures how zerg is meant to be played :D
I really like the SC1 scene where a couple of marines are sent to destroy the science vessel. THANK GOD FOR COLD FUSION! Also Blink studios makes awesome scenes for video games.
Zeratul and his kind were banished from their homeworld or Aiur. They've been hunted and killed by their own brothers but in the end their last words will still be "My life for Aiur! " So sad. :'(
The original cinematic from the opening of Wings of Liberty must be the best by far in my opinion. "It is said,a human knows himself when his freedom is taken away. I wonder... How well do you know yourself?".
Spear of Adun was actually constructed during Protoss golden age as the last hope for the protoss race. There were actually 3 arcship but 2 were destroyed by Overmind during the invasion. so just try to imagine how much space they took first to build and store. Btw Wrath of the lich king trailer ftw, though it actually plays on nostalgia with the almost mournful music when Arthas takes the first step
14:47 probably won't be notice cause its two years, but I think Mihoyo actually makes some great cinematics for their games. Granted they are basically anime shorts, but the cinematic "Will of the Herrscher" has actually made me download one of their games on the spot after seeing it.
I remember back in the day when LotV was about to be released and I was talking with some friends in Facebook, I told Zeratul would die in this campaign, but it would happen later. Never we could have known he was gonna go do soon...
Best starcraft cinematic is either the zerus reveal or the HoTs opening. Favorite blizzard cutscene period is the diablo 3 one where diablo shatters the crystal gates
Top 5 Blizzard Cinematics: Overwatch: Are You with Us? Legacy of the Void: opening cinematic Legacy of the Void: launch trailer Legacy of the Void: Alone (post "Last Stand" mission) Legacy of the Void: Warriors (post "Brothers in Arms" mission) There's definitely other great cinematics by other companies, but Blizzard is by far more consistent.
0:57 I just realized a strong parallel with Medivh warning the humans about the burning legion. XD I never really noticed this before. But there are times when Starcraft and Warcraft have similar stories. "This is not warcraft in space"? Yeah right.
Lowko, if only zeratul remains when you reach the stairs before Artanis, there's actually a special line from Artanis. What's more ? This mission cannot realy be failed since ennemy has no detection & zeratul is always invisible
I mean, everytime i watch that cinematic. Tears come into my eyes. that guy, that old protoss sacrificed everything for the sake of the entire universe, he dedicated the last years of his life to prevent the hybrid from being reborn after Broodwar, he did everything he could to stop Amon and in the end he gave his life just to free the only Protoss who could unify them all under a single banner. He is one if not the greatest protoss Hero after Adun who saved the Dark templar from being anhilated
The reason of why Amon can corrupt the Khala is that, with my assumption, the khaydarin crystals which form the Khala allow Amon, who brought those crystals to Aiur in the first place, take control of them.
Fun fact: zeratul was a mentor to all 3 main characters during their campaigns.
"Nobody Calls him James, Artanis". Well except for every Protoss in existence.
the protoss respecc jim raynor because he helped them
Juan garcia he protecc them when the Zerg attacc Aiur
This, or because the Protoss have no concept of shortened names. =)
and Mira Han.
Didn't you play the Original Starcraft? Aldaris actually calls him Jimbo, he also loves ducks
I literally cried when zeratul died he was my favorite character
I feel ya...
same, i pre-orderd the game when it came out, when i got the key, played and saw that in the second mission my favourite caracherd died i wasnt happy, i actually tought that Zeatul would have a little more screen time...
T_T
yea I cried too... his only purpose was finding redemption for his actions by tring to save his people and universe from amon
he did succeed but will never know his success
by the way... what kind of strike was that he literally turned into dust... I think if it wasnt he should be revived as dragoon :D
by the way wouldnt it be cool if protoss turned a TERRAN into dragoon? or someting like that :P
makaramuss thats some wierd stuff here man, :)) would be cool tho. What did ya smoked?
"My life, for Aiur." How is this NOT the best line of all time? Gives me goose bumps everytime.
certainly more appealing than "my life for Earth" I would say :-)
Perhabs because it sounds like they say My life for Eier?
Hierkönnteeinnamestehen just how delicious are those eggs?
I cried also
Basically a "My life, for Ner'Zhul"
15:51 OMFG... THAT IS WHY IN CARBOT ANIMATIONS THE STALKERS ARE ALWAYS SHOWN KNITTING IN THEIR FREE TIME.
lmfao true, but a bruh moment nonetheless
Lowko, in the case you didn't know (just for storytelling), Adun was a powerful ancient protoss executor, that was once comanded to execute the rogue protoss that had cut their head organs in order to preserve their individuality instead of being linked to the khala. But once discovered by the conclave, all of the rogues were send in a ship into space, and Adun sacrificed himself in order to save them. Adun toridas means: Adun hide you.
jmmontes13 where did you learnt all this?, i would like to read some Starcraft lore
I highly recommend The Dark templar Saga. 3 books, cool stuff. Lots of protoss lore and history.
Adun was also the first Twilight Protoss who can harness both Templar and Nerazim energies. It was said that in great distress he would return. Tassadar would later fulfill that who would also become the same as Adun's sacrifice: using both Nerazim and Templar energy to avoid a greater threat.

Zerarul:Mr artanis i don't feel so good....
have a reply
Lmfao you made my day XDDD
Darth Vader too soon
i get that reference
omg stahp et plesh~
I honestly dont get the cringy part of Artanis. They speak of honor and duty like in those old Samurai movies. It´s grand, forgotten but grand.
He gets carried away from time to time
Lowko or Artanis ? LOL
both tbh
Ilyaal Ilyaal cringetanis is mainly him in the og SC and broodwar
@@ShroomBois_Inc aren't you artanis in the original sc1 campagin not brood war because of the contection to Fenix and how the recap portrays Artanis.
"When that lady starts to sing in the background"...
Lowko... I hate to say this but... that is a boy. No, I am not trolling you. Look it up.
It's a young boy singing soprano range, called a treble.
that makes it even better, the meaning behind it gets stronger since it sounds like a child's lament (Young Arthas maybe?).
Probably. The chorus forms part of a song called invincible, i think. Sings about Arthas' horse and the responsibilities and qualities of a king
singing boi
BOI
21:16 Infinity War Spoilers but without context
lol so true
i don't feel so good mr artanis
lol
I don't feel so good...
Artanis, I don't feel so good...
En taro zeratul
(╥﹏╥)
What does it actually mean
The greatest Protoss Hero died this day...
Legacy of The Void.... Initial release date: November 10, 2015. little late for a vigil for a fallen hero. lol
Literally cried when he died
nah, Zeratul fells more like Mediv from Warcraft universe. Old man who ran around with prophecies trying to fix past mistakes. Now Fenix, on the other hand...
I still think Tassadar is the greatest Protoss Hero, but there's no denying that Zeratul is very close.
Definitely Wrath of the lich king, Totally agree, lowko!
I just personally love Arthas as a person, he just sacrificed everything for, from his point of view, was at start a greater good. But he got "corrupted" and used.
That trailer is just like.. ahhhh.. i wanna be with him :(
Agree 100%, the song alone along with the desolation, brutal, just brutal.
Well if you want more lore, I got something for Shakurus lore. You remember Taldarin from Fenix's co-op kit? “My life... for Auir” always gives me chills
Probably it hasn't aged well, but the cinematic from Broodwar still gives me goosebumps. Grim, dark, captures the desperation of hopeless terrified marines figthing in a trench against thousands of zergs. And DuGalle and Stukov were amazing characters.
WHO'S IN CHARGE HERE??
En Taro Zeratul!
En Taro Kerrigan! En Taro Izsha! FOR THE SWARM!!!
En Arudin Zeratul
Best cinematic: Fall of Kerrigan. You can see the betrayal and pain in her eyes. Just the last 30 seconds are beautiful.
I still remember the first time I watched that cutscene, and I still get teary to this day.
En Taro Zeratul!
To a Nerazim say "My life for Aiur" specially after all Zeratul has endured... first time I saw this scene I cried, and until nowadays it gives me goosebumps...
Lowko, all protoss call him James Raynor..including Tassadar and Zeratul..you just love hating on Artanis!
Selendis does too. Protoss don't have concepts of nicknames. Probably because they don't use mouths (unlike the lesser beings) to communicate and don't need to shorten names.
2 videos in 3 days? Hooray for Zoidberg!
Zeratul calls him James Raynor too 😋
Protoss all call him James Raynor. Selendis calls him James too.
All Protoss do.... Lowko just used to Terran/Zerg campaign heroes lol.
Maria Fernanda Montilla Mejia *called
The protos from SC1 also call him friend Raynor.
I think Arcturus called him James a couple of times too. Arcturus protoss confirmed?
For me, the best cinematic must be the Starcraft: Brood War starting cinematic.
Final Fantasy cut scenes are just... AMAZING. Final fantasy X, tidus and yuna moment at the end of the game almost makes me cry every time.
Artanis becomes sith.
"I AM THE KHALA"
John Merces in pakistani language khala means"aunt"so as a pakistani this is kinda wierd 😂
John Merces Not.Yet
John Merces I can feel your anger... yes... Yes... YES!! TAKE YOUR WEAPON, STRIKE ME DOWN!! and your path to the hybrid side will be complete. (Artanis) ok! Kills zeratool
UNLIMITED POWER!!!
i kinda love how this episode can be simplified down to the protoss had a bad hair day so the dark Templar came in and gave them a hair cut
Are you talking about the Dominion Demolition squad after the Amerigo station mission?
Favourite custscene was the one between act 3 and 4 for Diablo 2, where we witness the transformation of Diablo. Starts of showing us all around, then everything builds up, the music, the tension, the sense of urgency all to the battle ahead beyond that portal.
I love that in the middle of the starcraft mission he cuts to the Wrath Trailer. Easily my favorite trailer from them to this day too. Still gives me chills everytime i see it. Hell it almost brings me to tears with all this new lore being brought up
Best cinematic: Battle on the Amerigo, from the Starcraft Zerg campaign. Got your zerg right here!
"My life for Aiur" -Zeratul
Even after being exiled from Aiur in the past, Zeratul offer his life for the greater good of the entire protoss race..... En taro Zeratul
Basicly the Protoss Khala and the Zerg hive-mind are the same, although practicly they have differences, they share the same network override that the Xel'Naga Amon used to control them.
Best cinematic for me: Warcraft 3 Arthas Betrayal
Lucio Flavio Here here!
Fav Blizz cinematic? Warcraft 3 intro one, where Thrall has his vision of humans and orcs fighting and infernals drop from the sky. So so good :D
13:00 My favourite Blizzard cinematic is in-engine. The Talador ending cinematic in World of Warcraft - Warlords of Draenor.
One underrated tip for the protoss campaign is to make sure you have solid sim city. You can often make solid wall offs with your structures that end up paying off in a big way and the starting configurations generally are set up so that you can do it easily.
TLK cinematic, or just BFA cause it's epic, but i still love Draenor. Even Arthas' return in warcraft 3, when he kills his father was really good. :D
21:22 Artanis... I.. Don't.. Feel.. So good..
SerpentNLD I dont want to die Mr Artanis :'(
I like the two SC1 trailers, with the terran outpost shooting a dragoon and then getting destroyed by cloaked protoss. All the terran scinematics of Starcraft 1 are amazing. The Earth Admirals observing the terran colonists fighting zergs in the trenches are super cool too, in SC1 Broodwar.
I love how it just becomes nighttime in this mission.
Can we please have day/night cycles in skirmish / multiplayer too?
BTW at the start of the video since the time skip is not defined you can imagine that Zeratul needed like day to prepare and reach the void seeker. It was never said that it was 10 minutes ago or anything.
13:35 agreed..... Damn it lowko now i gotta rewatch the wrath trailer...
i think my fav cinematic is wc3 when arthas return to kill his father, the music and everything is so amazing
The carrier can be later found dead where Artanis is corrupted, same one making the funny sound after the mutalisks in the cut scene.
The Overwatch Crusaders animated short is the top one. And the opening cinematic for LotV comes a close second.
Arthas's betrayel from warcraft 3 is the best I think. It's one of the most important things that happened in the whole story and the music is great.
Dont forget Adun and Khas...they are also immense heroes...
Yeah, me too , wrath of the lich king cinematic trailer., i got goosebumps from head to toe when i watched it, omg, im gonna watch it again after this
My favorite cinematic is in wc3 when archimonde builds a sand castle and destroys dalaran.
the one where he gets blown up by wisps is a close second though.
Cool easter egg, if you have Artanis as your menu background he'll be equipped with Zeratul's gauntlet however when Artanis puts the gauntlet away in the menu Artanis instead is equipped with his own Psi blade ^_^
is it me or did he kill his own dragoon at the 18min mark..
my fave blizzard cinematic would definitely be Heart of the Swarm intro. It's kinda satisfying seeing the zerg swarm the city completely. It also really captures how zerg is meant to be played :D
zeratul calls jim james raynor aswell, dont think the protoss use nicknames
First is Wrath of the Lich King, second one the Heart of the Swarm one. Beautiful, beautiful scenes.
Stalkers knitting with zerawool?...... Out of the bad joke, man poor zerarul
No no, best cinematic of Blizzard is from Diablo III, the scene on Deckard Cains funeral. I was so in tears, my PC got nearly waterdamaged.
How can you be smiling as Zeratul dies you monster?
I really like the SC1 scene where a couple of marines are sent to destroy the science vessel. THANK GOD FOR COLD FUSION!
Also Blink studios makes awesome scenes for video games.
I know this is old but i have to say, the final cutscene of the wc3 human campaim where arthas murders his father is such a cool scene
At least now, after all the stuff he has been through, Zeratul can rest.
21:00 saddest moment in Starcraft ever
Best cinematic is when Kerrigan was left on the planet and she realized she was all alone that feeling got me hard.
Apparently that one zealot has a stronger resistance than Artanis to Amon's corruption
The best starcraft cinematic is after the battle for augustgrad when Raynor and Artanis is talking about fate.

Never we could have known he was gonna go do soon...
This was the saddest moment of all my 20 years of Starcraft experience. En Tarro Zeratul! Adun be with you my friend.
I don't cry often, but that scene...
It destroys me...
As much as I love starcraft, the best Blizz cinematic to date is a WC3 one. 'What is this, what are you doing my son?!' 'Succeeding, you father'
Best starcraft cinematic is either the zerus reveal or the HoTs opening. Favorite blizzard cutscene period is the diablo 3 one where diablo shatters the crystal gates
Top 5 Blizzard Cinematics:
Overwatch: Are You with Us?
Legacy of the Void: opening cinematic
Legacy of the Void: launch trailer
Legacy of the Void: Alone (post "Last Stand" mission)
Legacy of the Void: Warriors (post "Brothers in Arms" mission)
There's definitely other great cinematics by other companies, but Blizzard is by far more consistent.
My most favorite StarCraft cinematic has to be Legacy of the Void intro, followed closely by Wrath of the Lich King and Warcraft III trailer.
Think my favorite blizzard cinematic has to be the WoW Legion opening or the BoA trailer. Absolutely chilling
0:57 I just realized a strong parallel with Medivh warning the humans about the burning legion. XD I never really noticed this before. But there are times when Starcraft and Warcraft have similar stories. "This is not warcraft in space"? Yeah right.
Favourite cinematic for me is Leah/Diablo arriving at the crystal gates in Diablo 3
Hey Lowko! You should check the cinematics of Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. Not the best game, but cinematics are pretty nicely done.
In no true order:
1) Overwatch Cinematic: Honor and Glory
2) LOTV opening (Definitely)
3) Wrath opening (Definitely)
4) Mists opening (You meet Chen, of course!)
5) D3 (All of them!)
From SCWiki, Spear of Adun is approx. 74Km long. Whereas Leviathan is about 6.7Km
21:24 *"Artanis, I don't feel so good."* - Zeratul.
Speaking of favorite cut scenes - this one was one of the strongest in the game IMO.
Lowko, if only zeratul remains when you reach the stairs before Artanis, there's actually a special line from Artanis. What's more ? This mission cannot realy be failed since ennemy has no detection & zeratul is always invisible
I agree, the cinematics with Arthas are so good, the wotlk and Warcraft 3 one where he kills his dad, powerful !
''Change of plans'' my favorite cinematic moment, HotS finale.
True ^^ i cried for like an hour O.o at the end of HotS
Personal favorite Blizzard Cinamatic has to be the 'introduction of the zerg'. "Sarge I think ya hit somebodies dog."
Im still for the Lotv opening cinematic. There is just something about it that just gives me chills and gose bumps
Arthas climbing icecrown while hearing the voices of those he betrayed and becoming the Lich king. ''Now we are one.''
Best company for cinematics has to be valve. The meet the team series was just so damn good
Where man cried...(Lotv's Alone cinematic will be really great aswell😏)
The reason of why Amon can corrupt the Khala is that, with my assumption, the khaydarin crystals which form the Khala allow Amon, who brought those crystals to Aiur in the first place, take control of them.
I appreciate the spear of adun comparison edit lowko!
Amon: *snaps*
Zeratul: (21:25) Mr. Artanis I don't feel so good
