Hugely talented band. Something about the way they were promoted in Australia put me off a bit after the early 2000s, but there's no denying they are a hugely talented band.
I saw them in maybe 2005 In Nashville. They opened up for the mighty mighty Bosstones, and the headliner was the Offspring.. That song had the entire crowd on their feet!
Saw these guys do this at an outdoor festival here in Aus for my birthday in January. Went looking forward to Boom Crash Opera, Baby Animals and Hunters and Collectors amongst others. Sorry, but these guys blew everyone away. Just the three of them...
@@fantasticraidz8459 Totally agree. I'm a big BCO and H&C fan but these guys were easily best in show. Am now grabbing all of their back catalog rather than just getting by with a greatest hits playlist.
Marilyn Manson's 2001 Tainted Love is actually a cover of this song done in 1998 which was a cover of Soft Cell in 1981 which was a cover of of Richard Searling in 1973 which was a cover of Gloria Jones in 1965.
SpencerMurrayStudios. Its like a diff tainted love for every generation this is the version that made the biggest impression on, and im a manson fan to the core I hate his version
Shades Apart did a cover to.! I remember downloading it back in the Napster/Limewire days and was filed as Bad Religion. It was not BR, the singer of Shades Apart certainly sounded very similar to Greg Graffin. Here is a link to that cover, ruclips.net/video/iSnUaYurX4M/видео.html
I'm not ordinarily an enormous fan of the Living End. But an honest-to-god punk treatment of the Gloria Jones version of this song with no apologies to Soft Cell? HELL YEAH!!
can hear green day singing this one and stray cats,,,would be awesome--not together mind u, but then again it would make a good mash up,, its has a green day/stray cats vibe
I think they recorded it in the studio, pretty sure it’s on the All Torn Down single. If it’s not that one, it’s definitely on one of their self-titled debut album era singles, I’ve got it amongst my cd collection somewhere.
Just misses on beating the soft cell version if I'm perfectly honest... I think if they'd slowed down the tempo of the main section it would've worked better... still, it is brilliant!
This is easily the best cover I've heard yet of this song, except why did he have to screw up the lyrics? "...from the pain you drive into....love me"?? It makes no sense now. Did he not respect the source? Not care? Too stoned? What a shame.
The Living End have nailed this...Best version of this song EVER
Bit too fast but it is perfect
@@lergeriondudeumbreon5903 great tune, no doubt but... my fave is still "ruclips.net/video/4qJwft9B48k/видео.html" :-)
I second this. Love the added tempo.
I'm with ya TOTALLY 😍👍👍
Apart from emelda may
How have I never heard this before? Brilliant. If this doesn't get you off your arse and onto the dance floor, nothing ever will.
Fantastico! 😆
They played it on recovery once, check the vid, its mad.
Seen these guys live at lighthouse rock Bundaberg 2023, they were amazing this song sent the crowd wild can't wait to see them again.
The best version of this song hands down.
Hugely talented band. Something about the way they were promoted in Australia put me off a bit after the early 2000s, but there's no denying they are a hugely talented band.
What happen in the 2000s
Invasion of lizard people
Well done, and completely in with the original spirit of this song. I like it.
Yep. hey might have upped the tempo but the original is no less punky.
One of favorite songs. Amazing cover. To tears i miss these guys
They are still playing and touring 👌
Just saw this version live these guys are awesome

F YEAH! This song is do overdone, I thought It'd be "meh" but its one of the best versions yet ;)
Song wasn't on Spotify :|
Damien Exton I know sad right
I enjoy how the audio quality is a little shitty, but to just the right degree really; grungy, yes?
It's like it was recorded in an empty dive bar. I love it.
fucking good solo guys!!!
Alguém upa isso no spotify
@redac13 correction............ rockabilly!!
@MarkJD23 B-side version for All Torn Down single. :)
you mean also covered by Marilyn Manson, song was from 1965 first sung by Gloria Jones.
better than the manson version IMO
eu gosto :D
I wish they had recorded this song
They did, I think it’s on the All Torn Down CD single
I think these guys do a better version on an old complication album called chain spotting, all Aussie punk bands big at the time. I have the CD still
Wasnt that the audio from their live performance on recovery?
I think they recorded it in the studio, pretty sure it’s on the All Torn Down single.

what album of the living end is?
Just misses on beating the soft cell version if I'm perfectly honest... I think if they'd slowed down the tempo of the main section it would've worked better... still, it is brilliant!
Why is this not on amzaon music ;(
Travis on drums
Makes you pround to be an Aussie...
i have a live version where he burbs halfway through
I love that version! I used to have it too, but lost it. I've been looking everywhere for it, but can't find it again.
Dr. Who!!!! n,n
@GAMER10079 Well technically speaking they're a psychobilly band. Which is punk and rockabilly, so you're both right!
This shits on Soft cell
Tainted love (The Roadrunners)
Makes me want to fight some mods
*burps*
personaly i like the Marilyn Manson cover
Agreed i love this one and mansons, the intensity is so much better than softcells
The only better version of this song is their live version!
done bye marilyn manson :)
Cover yhea
Not as good as Dave Phillips' classic Rockabilly version. But Great anyway!
soft cell? guys really. smh my head
You do know Soft Cell covered this song don't you?
Social Distorsion the best for all!
This is easily the best cover I've heard yet of this song, except why did he have to screw up the lyrics? "...from the pain you drive into....love me"?? It makes no sense now. Did he not respect the source? Not care? Too stoned? What a shame.
Mike Mullins still good tho
He's saying the heart of me, he's just saying it fast
SO not do...
I prefer the Dave Phillips version.
Yeah but it's really outta tune. Lol
just listened, no it's not!
what album of the living end is?
