Hmmm... One of the more underrated bands in terms of technique, energy and talent, perhaps. There's plenty of excellent things going on here. Proper rock and roll.
i remember screenshotting the bass climb, printing it out and sticking it on the cover of my school diary. Still my favourite version of Eboogie and second solution.
I've seen them live several times. Safe to say yet are the best performers going around. Never gets old and they always give it 100% I love when the bassist gets so into it he ends up straddling the double bass and rides it!
it's absolutely sad how many GREAT awesome Australian bands we don't know of or get in the U.S. omg. THESE DUDES ROCK! THESE DUDES ROLL! THESE DUDES ROCK n' ROLL!!!!
Well, while I do think they're more technically proficient, they don't hold a candle to 94-96 Green Day. Just watch any concert from that era (especially from 96) and you'll see the energy those guys had was unmatched.
@@BoogieWoogieCat I disagree...I think they were at least on par with Green Days energy. It was the crowds being energetic that made old Green Day shows, with some nutty antics from the band in between. This has that same kind of energy, albeit if not the humor.
@@norbitcleaverhook5040 You're comparing a band that has *one* good album to another who's one of the most influential pop/punk bands of all time. There's a reason they were *supporting* GD in the Warning and AI tours and not the opposite.
HOLY CRAP! That's my first time EVER hearing this band and I have to say...They rock their asses off. I will DEFINITELY be getting their CD's after this.
Its acts like this that make me wonder how these types of bands arent hugely famous. That was one of the most rockingest lives Ive seen, I love this band!
amazing! i only first heard these guys a few weeks ago from a friend, and it really pisses me off that they are not getting the coverage they deserve, unlike the average karioke singers of Justin Timberlake, Britney, Christina, etc, etc, etc. A sad and depresing time for music
CLASSIC!!!! Most underrated rock band of all time!!! They are all so good at their instruments and how the upright doghouse bass syncs up with the drums in perfect timing while still slapping up triplets and even quads sometimes is not easy to do. To get that tight it takes practice and a lot of band rehearsal to maintain that level of precision take it from me as an upright player or ask any upright player who plays old honky tonk and rockabilly which were basically one in the same in the late 40’s through the 1950’s. We all know rock n roll came from hillbilly’s playing their version of blues riffs! Hank Williams learned from a black man and a lot of his stuff was 12 bar blues structures with some fiddle added in. Songs like move it on over, you gonna change, howlin at the moon, long gone lonesome blues, I could go on forever listing songs. Than after Hank died you had guys like Webb Pierce, Lefty Frizzel, early George Jones, Buddy Holly, all hillbilly’s and then you get Chuck Berry coming along and he was playing the same stuff slightly faster and the luck of a disc jockey calling it rick-n-roll to turn a phrase and it stuck! The. You had the whole Sun Records scene with guys like Johnny Cash, Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis “the killer”, and so on. Johnny Horton was playing that sound in the early 50’s five years before anyone heard Elvis Presley’s name!!! So yeah rockabilly was rock n roll, and credit where credit is do, it’s was 12 bar black riffs that influenced the hillbilly’s and side note their were tons of black hillbillies don’t think it was only whites. Chuck Berry could play honky tonk better than Hank Williams, well that might be a bit far. Hank asked an old black fella to teach him to play the blues, that’s what he really wanted to do. The black man said son there ain’t no money in race music, you wanna play hillbilly music that’s where the money is. Anyway guy teaches Hank blues with Hank making the promise he’d use it to make Hillbilly music. And that’s exactly what happened!!!!! The rest is history!!! Boy that was quite a digression so if you’re still reading this, all three of you hahaha I apologize!!!! #TheLivingEndrulesnumberoneonthesideofmyfreaknhouse!!!!
The fucking beer bottle! LOL. Gets me every time! Even when seeing this song being played at Hanging Rock a few years back. Cold Chisel fans were like "That lot stole the show! Fucking hell! What the fuck was that beer bottle song? I want that intense shit blaring in my car!" lol. "E-boogie" I'd say proudly.
aaarrgghh!! I am the biggest fan of this band in malaysia!! more than 12 years of involving myself in music..i can say,Chris Cheney is the best guitarist,n hes lo-profile kinda guy too..
Chris has inspired me to go out and buy a $6,000 greitch, This band is incredible and loved by almost every1 at my school and around da World, Living end is da bomb!!!!
Also, I love Scott's upright. Whenever he stands on it, it makes me giddy. Wish I could play with flair like these guys. Every one of them is an amazing musician.
If only they had concerts like this in the States. I mean, if I were listening to the Living End while on a carnival ride, I would deem it one of the best musical experiences of my life.
lemme correct that... THE best australian (if not world wide) guitarist *I* have ever heard. i dunno bout you all but chris cheney is amazing! TLE kicks ass!
I wish before Green Day - American Idiot came out and the album after Americana came out by Offspring these guys had their HUGE break..... fuck.. now we are left with more Green Day albums... ughhh....... MAN COME ON! fucking love this band... Saw them open for Offspring back in 1999? something like that...
Hmmm... One of the more underrated bands in terms of technique, energy and talent, perhaps. There's plenty of excellent things going on here. Proper rock and roll.

Yeah...they got that rockabilly thing mixed in with their punk that I love.
Wicked comment
I have seriously lost track of how many times I've watched this video. Freaking amazing 3 man band.
The drumming at 4:50 is so fucking killer and he flawlessly nails the transition to the chorus!!!
My buddy in college introduced me to TLE and they became my favourite band. I see them whenever they play NYC. Love this band!
One of the cooler things I’ve seen in life
i remember screenshotting the bass climb, printing it out and sticking it on the cover of my school diary. Still my favourite version of Eboogie and second solution.

The guitarist is epic and the bassists upright is awesome. Now I know why guitar teacher likes them!
I've seen them live several times. Safe to say yet are the best performers going around. Never gets old and they always give it 100%
I love when the bassist gets so into it he ends up straddling the double bass and rides it!
WOW, that is amazing, these guys are so underrated

I've watched this video so many god damn times!!!!
I remember reading a comment once that made me laugh, "They're like a talented Green Day". So much more than that. They shred it up Live,
Well, while I do think they're more technically proficient, they don't hold a candle to 94-96 Green Day. Just watch any concert from that era (especially from 96) and you'll see the energy those guys had was unmatched.
I definitely feel that reference.

The amazing thing is how he makes it look so easy! They have several other songs where he rocks out but my personal favourite is "Witch Doctor"
Does not get much better than this! The Living End at their finest!
I miss these times. Makes me proud to be Australian
I effin love these guys. I'm so thankful that I managed to see them on one of their trips to Canada. Best concert I've ever been too.
HOLY CRAP! That's my first time EVER hearing this band and I have to say...They rock their asses off. I will DEFINITELY be getting their CD's after this.
