it sounds like walking into an early 1980s arcades and you hear this song of an arcade building
Best seller in 1981
According to Britney Spears's book, she was listening to Soft Cell's 'Tainted Love' and fell in love with the sound of that song the night before they recorded '...Baby One More Time'.
I love this. Britney is so cool.
Cool story. Britney didn't write that song.
"...Baby One More Time" is the debut single by American singer Britney Spears from her debut studio album of the same title (1999). It was written by Max Martin and produced by Martin and Rami.

"Once I ran to you now I run from you" resonates hard with me
Hello how are you doing
The emphasis is all wrong. The contrast is between "to" and "from", not "ran" and "run".
@@c.y.hollander5592 I thinm they are emphasizing the way, not when.
@@trenrede That's what I mean. The point is that I used to run toward you but now I run away from you.
If the words were spoken, the strongest stresses would be placed on "to" and "from" ("Once I ran *to* you; now I run *from* you"), to emphasize what has changed. Unfortunately, the musical beats land on "ran" and "run" instead, which doesn't make sense from a prosodic perspective.
@@c.y.hollander5592 sorry, your wording confused me cause I was not thinking well, sorry.
i can’t believe this masterpiece turns 40
It's actually older, the original was sung by Gloria Jones
Actually turning 57 years old I so believe? Originally done by Gloria Jones who became Mrs Marc Bolan!
@@stuartlydes-uings1876 No she wasn't. They were romantic partners, not husband and wife.
Surprisingly this song still sounds very modern. when I heard it in a different channel, where there was no description about the song at all.. I thought it would be made by some modern artist, mimicking the 80s style. and here I was wrong, it's literally a 80s song
It will next year, well soft cells version

Here now 2021. 52 years old. My daughter turns 16 tomorrow. I was there back in the day. Saw mark in concert, blagged my way into clubs at 13/14 pretending to be 18 just so I could dance to this music.
I’m so grateful I experienced this era. Amazing times.
I was a punk, gothic and enjoyed every minute of it.
Live life as it’s fleeting xx

53 and my son is 19. Like you, I can feel it. Only, they don't seem the same, do they ? Time tarnishes everything. Love to you and your family.
Same story here. My friend and I were given a full reel of Ticketmaster BLANK Tickets in the 80s (our mutual friend stole the reel when he got fired from a record store). We went to a Salvation Army and bought a digital typewriter (remember those?) and with it, we could change fonts and font sizes and very easily forge tickets. We went to every show in Metro - Detroit (and even out of state and across the bridge/tunnel in Canada) from 1985 to about 1995. We had such an amazing time. Too many shows to even list. Soft Cell was one.
Hey brother, 52 and 2 kids, 16 and 18. Feels like an age ago!. Take the memories and enjoy the today's!. Wunderbar!!!
Best wishes for everything from Italy 🇮🇹🌼

I got my first job in advertising as an art director in the early 80's and at my first big fashion shoot for a big jeans company the photographer put on an extended club mix disc of this and my God we all worked like we were on fire. The models, the assistants and yes, it turned out absolutely incredible. A month later seeing my billboards up all over the city - and all over the country - from that shoot I, well, it was magical. Viva los 80's!
Great story, thanks for sharing
It's a good way to get your models in the groove and present and not so mechanical. Good music does that just like when you work out listening to a banging music.
The 80's remixes are the best. Think of all the Depeche Mode and New Order songs.

Sometimes I feel I've got to
Run away I've got to
Get away from the pain that you drive into the heart of me
The love we share
Seems to go nowhere
And I've lost my light
For I toss and turn I can't sleep at night
Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I'll run from you

Take my tears and that's not nearly all
Oh tainted love
Tainted love
Now I know I've got to
Run away I've got to
Get away
You don't really want it any more from me
To make things right
You need someone to hold you tight
And you'll think love is to pray
But I'm sorry I don't pray that way
Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I'll run from you
This tainted love you've given
I give you all a boy could give you
Take my tears and that's not nearly all
Oh tainted love
Tainted love
Don't touch me please
I cannot stand the way you tease
I love you though you hurt me so
Now I'm going to pack my things and go
Tainted love, tainted love
Tainted love, tainted love
Touch me baby, tainted love
Touch me baby, tainted love
