just found your video not so long ago! I did exactly what you said and wow the flavor is amazing for this rice. As a dad having a wife with a crazy schedule I’m always home now with the kids in the afternoon so I started cooking to help out 😅. My kids and wife were surprise when I made this rice they love it, thanks again 😊.
Glad you and your family enjoyed it! I’m so glad I could help! Way to help your wife. I’m sure she really appreciates it! Be sure to make her more of my recipes and keep me posted.
DaPinkUsan 🤗🤗🤗 I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed it!!! It’s a staple Mexican side dish...now you know what the hype is all about. Thanks for watching.
@@LaCocinaDeJannett Yeah it was really good Jannett. Im thinking about making the Carne Asada Stuffed Jalapeños that i saw on your channel, they look reallly gooood
finally, someone shows the real way to make Mexican rice, All these other videos say to use fresh "tomatoes" NOOOO! Canned tomato sauce the proper way, Oh & some rice comes out dry on top, when you cover it, If you dont cover the rice, it has a wet tomato sauce look on top.
My mind is blown! I’ve tried for many years making Mexican rice but it always comes out mushy! I think my issue was adding the tomato sauce after I poured the water! I can’t wait to try this out! I love your videos!!! I made your chili verde and made burritos out of it!
very easy and tasty! Thanks! if you like me somehow undercooked the rice and it was a lil crunchy, soak a paper towel in water, squeeze out like 20% of the water so the paper towel isnt dripping, and cover rice in bowl w/ paper towel and warm up for 2 mins.
Made it and loved it!! Though I only used 3 cups of water because that’s usually how much I use for 2 cups of rice and it came out just how I like it, not too wet (especially considering that it uses a can of tomato sauce too). So I’m guessing if you do the 4 cups of water it’ll definitely be on the wetter side but that’s totally up to your own preference!
Jennifer Soto I’m glad you loved it!!! Yeah elevation has a lot to do w amount of water needed too...4 cups works perfect for where I live it’s not WET at all. Rice is just fluffy and fully cooked 😉
So it’s okay to mix the rice while it’s still cooking on simmer? I was always taught not to do that but my rice always comes out mushy or sticky. I want my rice to be fluffy but not sticky at all.
No! You do not have to wash your rice. I don’t. If you want to remove some of the starch then you can rinse it. It’s really personal preference. This recipe does not have the rice rinsed 😉
Hello! Good through video, just had a few substitution questions. Do you think we could use tomato puree or tomato paste instead of tomato sauce? & Do you think that the chicken bouillon can be substituted for a chicken Maggie cube? Thank you!!
We cook our rice almost the same! I love jasmine rice. It taste so much better! My girls call it pink rice lol I'm not sure why but now its stuck calling it pink rice!
La Cocina De Jannett I’m gonna have to give it a try. I make rice often (I have a couple of videos on it) but I do still struggle with it some. You did things different from what I’ve been taught (like stirring the rice halfway through the cook & at the end) so I’m interested in trying your technique out.
wow you gave a fantastic cooking lesson. I finally know how to make fluffy spanish rice, and I thank you.
You’re so welcome!!! Thanks for watching 🤗
I did this recipe left out the oregano added a little chicken stock to the water and it came out fluffy, moist, and flavorful!
Yum!!! Glad you enjoyed it and even made it your own. Thanks for watching.

Yah and you have to watch stirring cause it will make it mushy ! A rice cooker helps and u don’t have to worry it’s burning

La Cocina De Jannett oh wow cool didn’t know that! Thanks anyways for the recipe😊😊
I did the same thing you did or my rice would of been to wet. Thanks

Yes I agree!
Easier than I thought! Thanks for the helpful how-to, I will definitely give it a try :)
Glad it was helpful! Keep me posted on how it turns out.
Hi I’m trying this now olhow long do we cook if we double the receipt
For the bouillon powder, do you use the Knorr Caldo de Pollo?
yes!
So it’s okay to mix the rice while it’s still cooking on simmer? I was always taught not to do that but my rice always comes out mushy or sticky. I want my rice to be fluffy but not sticky at all.
I do :) turns out perfect every time!
I am gonna make it soon. What temperature do you start cooking this ?
Start frying the rice at Med heat then turn down to low to cook.
Best rice ever !!
Thank beautiful!!!
this is like therapy. your voice the detailed steps 🤣🤣 thank you
Susan Sin You’re so sweet!!! Thanks for watching 🤗
yep, I agree, I stayed for the voice, very soothing.
sorry for the late comment but would you say rinsing the rice beforehand is the way to go?
Thank you!!
Yes both of those substitutions will work just fine. You’ll need less tomato paste if you use that! Hope you love it.
Do you rinse your rice ahead of cooking?
No. Do not remove the natural starch form the rice.
This is the first recipe I see made with jasmine rice 👀
Really?!?! It’s the best to make any rice dish! I don’t use anything else 😉
Does it have to be jasmine rice? Can I use extra long grain white rice?
In my opinion yes it has to be jasmine rice. It just cooks and fluffs up better.
Is the rice dried or already cooked when you put it into the saucepan?
It’s dry
Thank you it came out really good :)
can you recommend a substitute for chicken boullion?
there isn't really a substitute :/
Absolutely love it's Thank's 🥰❤
You’re welcome 😊
I screenshot the recipe. Wish me luck lol I am TERRIBLE at cooking rice.
uskitin Good Luck doll!! May the cooking forces be with you lol. Let me know how it goes.
Ahhh same here I'm trying to empress my mom XD
@uh i havent tried it yet! I'm out of rice at the moment but will try soon!!!
My ex mother in law uses the same recipe but also adds Sazon. But I can’t remember if you omit anything if you use it?
T Decarlo Yum!!! I believe you’d substitute it for the boullion and salt.
Thank you!!!
Nice, but why the huge chunks of onion?? I too dice it like most out there.
It’s easy to remove if you don’t want to eat it…. It’s really just for flavor.
We cook our rice almost the same! I love jasmine rice. It taste so much better! My girls call it pink rice lol I'm not sure why but now its stuck calling it pink rice!
barrenakim 🤩🤩🤩 yes girl I love jasmine rice 👌🏼 it just cooks perfectly when done right!!! Awe... pink rice... that’s cute 😍

La Cocina De Jannett For sure. When I film it I’ll make sure to mention your channel and send folks your way.
Please make strawberry agua fresca
Mmmm I will!!!
Rice, water, caldo de pollo, 20 minute simmer covered, 15 minute rest, done!
Can i make this without the onions?
Yea you can make it without onions 😉
@@LaCocinaDeJannett thnk u! I love them but my husband don't like them
That’s too bad. They provide great flavor. You can still use them just remove them before serving. He may not even notice 😉
@@LaCocinaDeJannett I'll try 😀
Does it matter wha tomato sauce it is ?
The brand does not matter. Just make sure it’s tomato sauce and not tomato paste 😉
Yummm que rico
LizLo Style 😋 yes girl!!! It’s so good. Thanks for watching.
don't stir the rice and it won't so gummy. just cover it and let it be, it will be okay, everything else was fiine.
