I'm starting a new project soon. I'm making a 1:12 scale boutique. I made this sweet little cash register for that project.
Dimensions:
1.5" diameter circle cut in 4 pieces, plus one extra piece
base: two rectangles with rounded corners, 1.25" x 1 3/16"
total height: 1 7/8" tall
1.25" wide
1 3/16" deep

2 oz bottle of Diamond Glaze

8 oz bottle of Diamond Glaze

Heat gun- I use mine to quickly dry paint, soften the glue to dismantle furniture and quickly cure polymer clay without an oven. Gets a lot hotter than a hair dryer.

Craft heat gun that doesn't get as hot as mine

I have lots of projects planned ranging from abandoned miniatures, furniture makeovers, accessories, kits and Dollhouse Miniatures in multiple scales. I also have a large Harry Potter build planned for 1" scale.

Ma’am, you are brilliant.
What she said!
Ditto!
I agree! 😊
You're all so sweet 🎂
I am in absolute awe of this register. You do such amazing work.
Thank you, Agnes!
AMAZING, so glad I subscribed. I LOVE that you scratch-build your miniatures, so many of my favourite channels have started using 3D printers etc, which just isn't as fun to watch on RUclips, and you may as well just buy pre-made miniatures if you're going to 3D print them (in my opinion). Watching and learning how to hand craft miniatures from your videos is such a pleasure. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible ideas and tips xx
I agree.
I feel the same way about quite a few of the 3-D printing videos I've seen. I love watching and learning from Queen City. She is very easy to understand and follow and achieve the same results, more or less LOL 😅, it will take more time and practice for what I make to reach this level of realism. She's so awesome!!!
Thank you, Kelly!
Thank you :) I have a lot of fun making things by hand. I'd love a laser cutter or 3d printer to make precise things or tedious things (like windows), but I like to make things like this by hand.
Really appreciate the amazing items you have been creating with "junk/found" materials and simple tools! Please continue 🙏
Thank you :) It's been a lot of fun.
What a beautiful project. You make such a fancy object look so easy to make.
Thank you! It's funny that it looks so fancy since it's made from such humble materials.
Ooh 😮. I've always wanted one of these! The tip about using the lace as filigree is awesome!
Filigree! I wish I had thought of that word during my voiceover. My mind was drawing a blank. Thank you :)
@Queen City Minis We all know that feeling. It happens to me more often than I want to admit!😄
I love that you cut the details by hand rather than using A cricut machine. Even if I am not recreating what you make I learn so much from watching your videos. The cash register is amazing you are so skilled and creative!
You are so welcome! I love making things by hand
I just watched this for the third time and I am still blown away by the magic you wield…!!!
Thank you 😊 This was so much fun
This is🤔...you already know Shyra!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾...you've done it again!🥰
Thank you 😊
I‘m not gonna lie, I genuinely didn‘t believe you when you said this was done without any special materials, tools or techniques at the beginning of the video. And then you just straight up did some magic and made this and I wanna make one too now!
Aww, thank you! I showed it to my fiance and he was supposed when he held it and it was light. He thought it was metal 😊
Sometimes I’m like “there’s no way she made that” and then I watch you do it. Very talented!
Thank you so much! This turned out better than I was imagining.
@@queencityminis love when that happens 😍
Absolute genius
Well said!
😮
This is amazing...I should seriously stop watching your videos, not only do I need a miniature garden shed in my life but now I need a miniature cash register and tiny money and probably a little shop to go with it as well 😂
😂 this hobby really does have a tendency to snowball
❤️ I know exactly what you mean!
It came out so beautiful! The lace really did the trick to make it look ornate. Love it!
Thank you! The lace really elevates the cereal box 😆
So often l watch what you make and think why didn't l think of doing that... You are so good at visualising shapes and effects from readily available and re-used items. I love your projects. ❤
Thank you so much 😊
That is using your imagination and I love it. I like being able to see things and then creating them to look similar to the real ones. It can be challenging but very enjoyable at the same time. Have a great day
Thank you so much! It's so much fun for me.
OH ! This is SO fabulous. I'd been looking and looking for some direction for something like this, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for...and THIS IS IT ! Wonderful directions on the 'how to', as usual. GREAT vid. Thank-you tons. =)
As always, you continue to show how you can have incredible results using inexpensive (or free) materials. Love it.
You're welcome! I'm so glad I made something you've been needing. That's awesome. Happy crafting
A project that is truly after my own heart. What a precious little thing and I just adore the building process! You're a serious creator girl :)
Thank you! I think this is a great start for the French boutique project.
I'm so sorry but your videos are totally addictive!😻 Well, that's it I've owned up to being hooked, so bring them on - more of them and let us share a moment of sheer bliss and indulgement (commensurate with a large bar of chocolate I have to say) watching another of your inspirational ideas.
That's great 😆 I won't apologize for it.
Oh my goodness. What a beautiful project. I ❤ how it turned out. You have a very creative mind. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much :)
Wow! That was MacGyver-level creativity you used to create the various elements in that cash register! Very creative!
MacGyver! I love that. Thank you
Amazing work! So talented💜💜💜 I love watching your videos!
Thanks so much!
Very nice! The lace was a great idea❤
Thank you :)
I wish the creative side of my brain worked like yours! This is amazing and looks incredibly intricate and difficult to make. You made it look so easy! Incredible job!
Thank you! It does look like it would be difficult but it really is easy.
When I first saw the ornateness of the cash register I thought there is no way thats just made from everyday stuff, but holy crap girl you absolutely nailed it! I just love the way your mind works!
Thank you! I could've done a tidier job on the drawer, but it looks pretty damn good
THIS WAS A WONDERFUL VIDEO!!!! IT HAD MY GRINNING THE WHOLE VIDEO!!! EXCELLENT USE OF COMMON MATERIALS!!!!! THIS WAS GENIUS! GO 👑 QUEEN GO!!!!!
That's awesome 😁 thank you so much!
So beautiful and wildly clever!
Thank you so much!
OK, fr. I just wouldn't have thought of the marker bleeding through the glue to make the colored buttons! This is what indicates your brilliance! Too stinkin' cute!
Well...first I colored the buttons with marker but it was barely visible. Then, I decided to paint the buttons white and the color bled through. Happy accident
@@queencityminis Oh! well... Those are the best kind!!
How did you think all that up? It is mind boggling how something so simple can turn out to be a Miniature Masterpiece. Bravo. And Thanks for sharing with us all.
Thank you! I make things up as I go (which is why I ripped the bottom off this piece and remade it. Hadn't planned ahead). Once I figured out how to make the curved front, it was an easy enough design from there.
I'm not sure what's more soothing your tutorials/your voice or the outcome. Great project ❤
Thank you Jasmine!
Loooooove this tiny cash register! Beautifully done.
Thank you! I'm happy with how it turned out. I do wish I had french money, though.
You ASTOUND me! This is FABULOUS!So very well thought out!
Thank you!
This was absolutely amazing. I had to come back and watch it again because I just couldn’t believe you made that gorgeous thing from scratch.
My primary craft is making very elaborate junk journals, and I am stunned at how many processes cross over in both crafts.

Have you seen this video of mine?
Thank you so much!!
@@queencityminis Yes, I have…!!! It was magical - like all your work. I kept a running commentary going through the whole thing…!!!!!!!!!
BTW, when we create a journal that won’t close because there are too many stuffed pages in it, we call it an “alligator mouth!” Wish I could send pics. I just finished a Grimoire that is so huge that I had to change the closure 3 times to accommodate the bulk…!!!! LOL
I'm a new viewer and I must say that I easily understood and totally enjoyed your process. I watch several of other DIY videos every week and you are by far the easiest to follow.
Thank you so much!
Amazing how You make everything look easy Peasy in your videos. Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome 🤗 thank you for watching
The button details were too cute! Love how you use the magazine for different projects, thanks for sharing
Thank you! This was fun
So clever, makes me want to live 120 years ago and run my own shop! :)
Hahaha, same 😂
This is something out of my dreams! Bravo! Perhaps someone had already said this, but France uses the Euro for their currency.
I didn't know that! Thanks for sharing
Pure magic.😍
Thank you 😊
Great project. The details are amazing. I'm in awe. Thanks for sharing.
You're very welcome 🤗
Wow - that lace really and truly does look like etched metal!!! Love this project completely, and can't wait to see where it ends up :)
Thank you! It really is wild how much lace and paint can transform cereal box.
Gorgeous! You are sooooo talented! THANK YOU! Kathleen
Thank you Kathleen!
Very cute ! And the drawer def looks better in version 2. Good idea. Brilliant use of lace too.
Thank you! I think so too. I of course didn't think about it much before I pulled the thing apart, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
😊 This piece is perfect! You have golden hands, thank you very much for your tutorials.
Thank you! I have the Midas Touch 😁
That’s great! I can’t wait to see the rest of the French boutique!
Same here 😆 Since I make things up as I go along, I have no idea how it'll turn out. I know it'll be fancy and clean (a departure from my abandoned miniature lab).
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing the build and your techniques!
My pleasure 😁
You did an amazing job! I never would have known you used lace from the beginning clip. Cool tips!
Thank you! I'm happy with how it turned out. The little handle is adorable and I love that it spins.
This is one of the best miniature dyi’s I’ve seen
Wow! Thank you so much 😊
This is incredible! Your ingenuity is incredible! Lace to mim metal carvings! I am in awe! I want to try this…thank you so much for sharing!
Do have a try! It's a lot of fun
Well done! Thank you for the tip on using lace for that textured look! It looks fantastic!
You're welcome 🤗
That turned out amazing. You did an excellent job on it. I love the way the lace turned out. It really does look like engraved metal. The money was an added bonus.
Thank you! I wanted to make coins but I didn't leave any room for them in the drawer 😆
@@queencityminis that would have been neat too, what would you have used to make them, do you think?
@@DiannelLaird Probably card stock. I have a 1/16" hole punch.
Wow! That is absolutely amazing! Tfs🙏🌹
Thank you so much!
What an amazing imagination you have! ❤️ 😊 brilliant 👏
Thank you!
I've wanted to make one for so long! But I couldn't figure out how... It seems so obvious now that I've watched the video! You are such a great miniaturist! Thank you so much for sharing!💕
That's awesome! Have fun 😊 I hope it turns out beautiful.
Gorgeous antique cash register 😍
Looks good for cereal box 😁
@@queencityminis it sure does😃
Super duper cute 😮
Thank you!
Amazed! so creative! Thx for sharing.
My pleasure 😊
You are so dang creative! And your ideas for making minis out of just everyday items just blow me away! I love watching you make ANYTHING! You take your time, explain in detail, make us laugh, and keep us calm all at the same time! I wonder what your day job is...do you get paid to do what you love??❤❤❤😊😊
Thank you so much! I'm a property manager. I do get to do what I love when it comes to making minis.
Brilliant, as always.
Thank you 🤑
I was so confused when you started by cutting a circle! This was such an awesome project. I couldn’t wait to find out how you’d made the ornate texture and sure enough, it was something clever and surprising. I also had a chuckle at the very current bill design being used in a vintage cash register. I like to think it’s a hipster store owner who uses that register as well as a mechanical typewriter.
I was also surprised when it started out with a circle! I wasn't sure where to begin, but then the idea just came to me.
The money kills me 😆 I need to replace it in the French boutique with old French money.
The lace really looks like metal !
I agree! I prefer the look of the thinner lace, though. I'll stick with he thin stuff in the future.
absolutely amazing.....looking forward to seeing the French boutique video. Laura from UK
Thank you Laura! I'm excited to start it. It'll be my prettiest project yet.
Wow, that is awesome.
Thank you!
Love this. TFS!
Thank you!
That is adorable ❤ love the way your mind works .. so clever ! X
Thank you! I usually don't know what I'm doing until I get going.
This is Absolutely Amazing Shyra!! I'm so glad I caught this! Brilliant techniques. It reminds me of the Fiddle I made. 💖🥰 Totally nailed it!!
The fiddle you made is 😲 This is not at that level, but I appreciate it.
@Queen City Minis No Way Girl.. It totally is!!! Lol...I would have to disagree..This is fabulous!💖 The detail, the idea..the techniques used..the whole miniature vision is what I'm looking at and I'm definitely like 😯
great work. I admire your creativity and great ideas 👍
I appreciate that 🙏
You are freaking amazing! This is wonderful
I appreciate it 🙏
So pretty! Can't wait to see the boutique - sure hope you share that project too!!! :)
I will! I'll be making it on my channel for all of you :)
Very clever !
I appreciate it!
This is fantastic. You are so creative.
Thank you! 😊
Fantastic job ❤❤❤
Thank you :)
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! How you figured out how to make this….I have no idea. BUT I AM SO GLAD YOU DID! BRILLIANT 🥰
Glad I could help!
Cant Wait........🤩
Enjoy 😊
So cute! I have a couple of die cast cash registers which I use, but I will keep this pattern in mind in case I want to make a bigger one for my 1:4 scale Doll Village. ❤
I have a die cast register that's missing the drawer. I used it as a guide for making this one.
You have such an eye for detail and more importantly how and what to use to achieve it. The whole cash register is made from throw away items! I love the lace used to give the old ornate look of the register. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Thank you! It's amazing how much paint can transform everyday items like cereal box and lace into a fancy cash register.
Brilliant lady.💜✌️🦘🌻thankyou.
You're welcome 😁
Very nice!
Thanks Michael!
Perfect
Thank you 😁
Just amazing!
Thank you 😊
Just amazing! ❤

Mind blowing! ❤
Thanks a lot 😊
Gosh I love this so much !!! You are truly the best!
Why, thank you!
Awesome!!
I appreciate it 😊
WOW❗️I love your work 🩵
Thank you! 😊
That is so cool, WOW!!
Thanks 😊
That is so amazing!! ❤❤
Thank you!
Looks amazing!
Thank you 😊
Incredible! You are amazing 👏
I appreciate that 😊
Ooh la la!!
Thank you 😊
Okay, you explained that this was crafted from found objects - and yeah I see that - all except for a couple a' things. Can you tell me where to find the creativity and imagination you use to come up with your projects????? I feel particularly satisfied when I stick a plastic leaf in a tooth paste tube cap and call it a plant.......................you continuously amaze (and amuse!).
🤣 Maybe you don't need the creativity ingredient if you keep watching my channel and do what I do!
I'm totally trying this!
Have fun! I suggest using finer lace than I did for the drawers. Also, decorate the back of the register too. Mine will be visible on the counter and it looks ugly 😆
Gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
So great!!
Thank you 😊
