I like that he talked about dreaming of being Freddie Mercury leading an entire stadium in singing a song together, yet is humble enough not to mention that he eventually achieved that goal and now does that every single night with songs like My Hero and Learn To Fly.
@@MazBringsby Go be grumpy somewhere else. Dave is an awesome musician and a down-to-earth human being, plus a cool dad. I'd rather see _him_ idolized instead of the Kardashians. And I'd rather take him as an example than you. :)
@@whanowa You know Dave Grohl personally do you? You're brain-dead from watching TV for so long you've created a sycophantic false image for yourself to keep you warm at night in your cold godless delusion.
This reminds me of Roxette's last tour. They were in Sofia, and Marie was doing whatever she could to perform "It Must Have Been Love". Then the whole arena backs her up. Right to the last note. IMO, that's even more powerful than a political rally.
Dave you are great. Freddie is Freddie and Dave is dave. Both cant change each other and both are great. Most important is that you both are successful rockstar still very humble.
Always loved what Grohl said about “guilty pleasures”. There’s no such thing as guilty pleasure, if you like it, fuck what anyone else thinks, why should you feel guilty for a song or band that brings joy to you
Btw, I´ve loved your music (and how you sing) since FooFighter´s The Color and The Shape. Absolutely right, can´t be something you´re not, can only be the best that you are 👍🏼.
Outside of Genesis and Nirvana are there any other bands were the ex drummer became an incredibly successful lead singer? I understand his desire to sing like Freddie Mercury, who wouldn’t… But I would love to sing like Kate Bush or Beyoncé, but I’m stuck lip-synching in the shower soooo...
@@threzzy I didn’t like singing in front of a live audience and lyrically it felt too personal having others voice my words. That makes no sense, Dave is a Legend on drums in the main leading grunge band of the 90s, and ever since has an amazing, distinctive Foo sound and voice of his own ever since. He’d just sound like a cover voice and ‘copycat’ if he sounded like ‘one other’ period. It’s ALL perspective in Life my friends.
It’s just the fact that he’s still around and he’s keeping rock alive. There’s hardly ever any new bands in the mainstream & he’s part of a group that is sustaining a lost art that is no longer portrayed in the mainstream anymore…that’s why almost every older rockstar loves him…he’s keeping the dream alive.

I find this incredibly sweet and humble!
Pretty sure everyone wishes they could sing like Freddie
@K no? Only 4-5
@K Stop making made up bullshit statements.
Also pretty sure everybody wants to be Dave Grohl.
I dont, I never did.
Freddie mercury is the best male vocalist of all time, I wish I could sing like him too
Exactly!
Yeah same
@Anderson Cooper what
@Anderson Cooper Hater much?
@Anderson Cooper He is! But why did you say the comment is dumb?He is the greatest singer in general yes but he also is the greatest male vocalist.
And I wish I sang like Dave Grohl.
He is my biggest idol these days.
I get what you mean but please stop idolising celebrities.

MazBringsby He can idolise whoever he wants. Why is it that much of a problem?
I wish I could sing like Freddie.. 🥰
We all do, honestly. We ALL do.
Dave's voice has such a great honesty to it. It's so REAL. He rocks.

Dave's still got a killer voice tho, suits the Foo Fighters sound 🙌
He's such a laid back dude. The more I see of him the more I like him.
Dave Grohl is awesome at being Dave Grohl. He should keep being Dave Grohl.
FREDDIE MERCURY!!!!!!!! G.O.A.T.
Great message and true words Dave
Don't worry Dave. There are many people who want to sound like Freddie Mercury. Me too. I think is easier to win the lottery.
he may not be able to sing like Freddy Mercury, but he can speak the same message!

Is this clip four years old? Dave is wearing the same shirt as in the 2016 clips.
that was good, but I DONT KNOW I MEAN EXPECTATIONS 0:48
I don't wanna sing like anybody else, but I do wanna hear 70,000 people singing a song I wrote...
Queen @ LiveAid! YES!!!
Oh how we all wish we could sing like Freddie Mercury darlings !
I met Dave back in the Nirvana days. He wouldnt sign my CD (didnt believe in this rock star thing) but we talked for 20 minutes! Great guy.

You can't be Freddie Mercury but challenging him but it is an improvement for yourself .
No one can sing like Freddie Mercury.
He's right, he's never gonna sing like Freddie. But its okay, There's probably only a handful of people that ever could do it
i wish i sang like dave grohl.
And now he is making 86,000 people sing at wembley stadium.

S. D. Chris Cornell was originally the drummer of soundgarden before he went on to be a huge lead singer.

The only vocalist to come close to Freddie Mercury, was Whitney Houston. She was still not as good, as the great man

Anyone else sick of Dave Grohl, yet? The Foo Fighters were never even that good.
