So true. Considering the lifestyle he had, drugs etc, he has been extremely fortunate to have conquered his demons and lived through it all virtually unscathed and has become a better man. Someone up there must REALLY like him!
Back in 1985 when Freddie when was on stage at Live Aid I stood about ten feet away from him. I was never so spellbound awestruck or mesmerised by anything in my life, as I was by Freddie. I remember thinking what am I going to do with my life when Queen have walked off stage. I don't mind if I am on my own That day Freddie had 80 thousand people in the palm of his hand one thing for sure is no one in that stadium can say that they were not impressed by Freddie and Queen and no political leader in history has ever really done that. Freddie Mercury transcended gender and sexuality and anyways he was probably more of a man then is possible.

I saw Queen in '77 (Stadium in Chicago) and '80 (Rosemont Horizon in IL). The early Freddie was my favorite: white then black leotard singing a lot of early Queen.
My dad has a friend who worked for an Italian tv channel back then and he went to London for an event. They went to a dinner in a restaurant with his crew one night. Freddie and some of his entourage and friends were there at one table pretty close to them. My dad's friend recognized Freddie, and being a big fan he asked a waiter to deliver a bottle of wine at Freddie's table. When Freddie noticed the bottle was offered, he stood up, went to my dad's friend table and shared it with them. They spoke for a minute and then Freddie asked my dad's friend for his home address. He didn't realize why Freddie asked for it but he wrote it down for him. Then everyone went back to their business. A few months later, 2 tickets for the Wembley '86 concert came in the mail. I have a knot in my heart ❤️ Even Elton's words made me cry .. !!! Freddie was so special, kind, generous and adorable ... !!! Brian said he never heard Freddie complain about his illness or condition ... !! Freddie was not a perfect human being ... but he was extraordinary in many ways ... so gifted, so creative ... !!! The only things he regretted being so close to death was that he was unable to continue writing music. As he said to Peter Freestone: "I have so much music inside that I can never write ... !!" Dear Freddie ..., you are a legend We still love you all ... !!! 💔💔💔💔
I would hear stories like that from Elton in hours and hours non stop… But Freddie really is a man above humanity for him risking his very short life to bring happiness to his friends…

You are so loved Sir Elton John! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You'll never read this Elton but thank you for that story. I met Fred in 1985 and corresponded with him. He was something else. So giving, generous, polite, gentle, from another era almost. This touched my heart.
Everytime you hear someone talking of Freddie, they always say how warm he was as a person. They are a handful of the lucky one that have met this star in real life.
Great interview! Elton is one of the last of the great British artists. David Walliams did himself proud, he never interrupted and so the interview just flowed nicely. Elton was brutally honest in revealing his flaws and as the same with all of us, sometimes it just takes something bad happening to another person, that we look within ourselves and we go on to become better human beings. Thanks for uploading.
David Walliams has a lot of love, and respect for Sir Elton John, and it shows. Well done, you did Sir Elton John, and Freddie Mercury proud. Great stuff. Thank you, for sharing your time. 👏👏👏
And this will be many of those that admire and love Elton John when he dies. And it doesn't matter where in the world you are; so many entertainers have been part of our lives growing up, and when we lose Elton John and Betty White, it's gonna be a big hit but we have to remember to keep their memories going forward and enjoying what they did in life. Sir Elton John; We love you
When you think about his life and career Elton has known so many famous people, many of whom he has called dear friends. Yet along with that he has helped so many people that have crossed his pathway. Incredible man, "fantastic" artist. Along with Freddie Mercury, they will never be another Elton John!
Freddie (Queen) & Elton were my two big loves as a kid. I’m super happy I was able to see both of them perform live back in the day. Adore their hearts as much as I do their talent.

I totally agree that Freddie wasn’t afraid of dying, he wanted to make his audience happy and entertained with the Band’s music, which really makes me happy.
3:22 who else cried 😭😭 Even Elton John was such a great friend.
Yes 😭
I've always said I'll cry all day when Elton dies.
He was the soundtrack of my youth.
I live in Indiana and remember Ryan and Elton and Michael Jackson they stood behind and beside that family and i love them for that
I love Elton,I wish he said some nice things about MJ
Thank you for your work at stopping AIDS. .Elton. We lost too many . Dedicated to my friend Ernie, who passed of AIDS, back in the early 80's.. I know about your work and I thank you so much.
Freddie and Elton are two
INCREDIBLE, beautiful SOULS.
My favorite two people.
Freddie made the world a much better place.
And Elton too. We've lost Freddie years ago, but we still have Elton John, one of the last surviving musicians of the 70s that's alive and still continue to make music till this day. Both legends
This is one of the most heart felt, real interviews I've ever listened to. R.I.P Freddie.
Freddy and Elton are two magical souls that I have had the pleasure to experience in my life. True, Icones.
I have a knot in my heart ❤️
Even Elton's words made me cry ..
Dear Freddie ..., you are a legend
We still love you all ... !!!
💔💔💔💔
I would hear stories like that from Elton in hours and hours non stop…
But Freddie really is a man above humanity for him risking his very short life to bring happiness to his friends…
The world will always love Freddie ❤️
Im tearing up😭, Freddie and Elton had a beautiful friendship. And this shows how much he cared about freddie
Elton always comes across as a really nice genuine bloke and obviously loved Freddie .
Freddie is spoken of fondly by all who knew him. Elton is very kind as well.
It just shows that he was a very nice person because nobody has anything bad to say about him
Elton is so comfortable in his own skin. I love his candor in this interview. Very heartfelt stories about Freddie and Ryan.
No matter how may times I hear this story, I just want to give Elton a hug. Say what you want about him, Elton has a beautiful heart.
I love you Elton John, always have. You are the definition of a beautiful soul ❤️ I was fortunate enough to see you in concert in Atlanta on 11-2-19. It was my dream come true as well as my 12 year old sons dream come true! We both cried several times and you actually made eye contact with my son and pointed at him and smiled!!! We both cried hysterically at that! You are beautiful and have done so much for AIDS. Bless you & your family and god keep you safe always! Thank you for sharing your music and your love with us all! You are so loved Sir Elton John! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I saw him 1980. I feel blessed
Thunder Liberalcrat I was at the Atlanta concert to I have seen Elton John in concert a lot he is amazing
A beautiful tribute to Freddie Mercury and Ryan White. May they rest in peace and power. Continued serenity with your sober spiritual path Sir Elton.
You'll never read this Elton but thank you for that story. I met Fred in 1985 and corresponded with him. He was something else. So giving, generous, polite, gentle, from another era almost. This touched my heart.
Still very moving to hear Elton speak of Freddie... one in a million! there can be only one.
Love Elton and love Freddie , and love David of course , great interview
The two of them were obviously very close friends who thought very much about each other. It's great to know he had close friends like Elton.
As a musician, performer and human being, Elton John is just top notch. I've been an enormous fan for almost 50 years.
Well said mr Elton John.
Freddie was and always be a legendary artist.
I still Love him
Freddie ,immer in meinem herz
Elton, Freddie, Queen. Oh my. My favourites. Eltons still here and I’m so glad❤️
Wow this is so nice, Freddie Mercury will always live on.
The interviewer said at all when he said how amazing it would be to party with Elton John and Freddie Mercury!!!!
Oh, to be a fly on the wall!😁
David Walliams has a lot of love, and respect for Sir Elton John, and it shows. Well done, you did Sir Elton John, and Freddie Mercury proud. Great stuff. Thank you, for sharing your time. 👏👏👏
Did you see Rocketman?
What a guy he can hold his head up high he is as wonderful kind man as the great Freddie Mercury was , wish more people were like them in this world .
Sir Elton John; We love you
I saw Sir Elton John in Fresno ..his last tour. What a Great man and performer. My wife and I were lucky enough to win tickets. Absolutely awesome!!
I absolutely love this interview, it warms my heart that Elton cares for Freddie that much😭
When you think about his life and career Elton has known so many famous people, many of whom he has called dear friends. Yet along with that he has helped so many people that have crossed his pathway. Incredible man, "fantastic" artist. Along with Freddie Mercury, they will never be another Elton John!
Even if I already heard this Christmas Story, I sit here in my bed with tears in my eyes and goosebumps on my arms! 😍😢
Elton, I felt every nuance of your love for dear Freddie! Thank you for opening your heart and showing what love looks like!💜💜💜🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Freddie (Queen) & Elton were my two big loves as a kid. I’m super happy I was able to see both of them perform live back in the day. Adore their hearts as much as I do their talent.
Elton John and Freddie Mercury are both gifts to the world
Elton, you have such a beautiful soul and the warmest heart. I most admire those who secretly devote their time and money without wanting nor expecting any credit. You are so special, Freddie new it and so do I. Love you Elton.

Love you Sir Elton John.
Freddie was just extraordinary and unique. Even really lovely.
And everybody would be rich, to have a friend like Elton John to tell all these beautiful experiences about Freddie Mercury.
While I've always been a fan of his music, what's unexpected is that the more I find out about Freddie as a person, the more I like and respect him as a person. RIP Freddie.
That's really beautiful. I hope Elton knows how much we love him too
Just stumbled upon this, on this PRIDE 2020, self-quarantined in NYC. I am in tears. I'm sharing this on my FB and Twitter. I've been living with HIV for 23 years. RIP Freddy and Ryan White, and thank you, Sir Elton.
I love Sir Elton. He brings you to tears with the raw emotions he displays talking about those he cared for and about.
An honest sincere human being. Nice to see a celebrity that has talent, brains and a heart.
It takes one person to send love for the world to live! Elton John, and Freddie Mercury both loved in this way! Thanks for sharing!
I remember when the Queen video for Bohemian Rhapsody was released and been a Queen fan since, Freddie Mercury has one of the best voices ever, sadly I never got to see them in concert! Sir Elton John is a class act that cares for and helps people, was thrilled when I got to meet him during one of his shows in Hawaii! Thank you Elton for a lifetime of your songs!
Thank You 🙏 Elton John, for the Heart ❤️ Warmed story you Shared with All of Us About Freddie giving you a Present 🎁. Showing you the True Love of being a Friend To Him.

This is so emotional and made me cry loads inside! I have always held Sir Elton John in the hightest esteem because of his character, in particular his magnificent honesty about himself! He is indeed a Sir!!
Two people I have immense love and respect for, Elton & Freddie
I adore this side of Elton, & Freddie's memory will continue to live with the wonderful & amazing people that knew & loved Freddie!!!
Respect and love for Elton's heartfelt stories.
My respect and love for Elton John has increased a million folds after watching this interview. The way he lovingly spoke about his friendship with Freddie Mercury and how Ryan White inspired him to change his life for the better, nearly brought me to tears.
Sometimes being empathetic is a curse I can't help but tear up when ever i see someone genuinely* get upset it's like reflex.
No matter what you think of this man, his past and his orientation on life, he is and will always be one of the top 5 entertainers...ever! His life is a testament as to how life changes for the better...if you choose it for the better. What a gentle soul!
