Overlays can cause stutters, especially with older systems. As always, test one thing at a time as every PC has a slightly different configuration or setup.
Disabling MPO definitely helped. I was playing dead space and there was stuttering all the godamn time. I'm gonna check if the screen flickering has gone too with elden ring
I fucking LOVE you man. I was having severe stutter / hitching in smite and DBD that was rendering the games almost unplayable. Oddly, it wasn’t affecting newer games. But then I came across your comment and I turned OFF threaded optimization and now the terrible stutters are completely gone, my games now run like silken dreams 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

@@SDPen45 I switched to a 7800X3D and now the game is smooth, somehow the game started taking longer to load (3min), but it made up for it by not crashing even once, this makes me think it loads textures or shaders while we're walking around the island
Why we always have to fix Windows… 🤦♂️ Isn’t that the Microsoft job? Hardware compatibility is the priority for the software company. Not for the user and the hardware company’s. Of your software is not running properly with the major hardware manufacturers products… Your software is garbage…
Hey so in any game I play if I cap FPS to something very acheiveable aka titanfall 2 at 120 FPS is very easy for my setup, sometimes the game goes down by 1 FPS and I get a stutter. Then theres games like Dead Space Remake where I get major stutters while traversing the game. Any ideas what my problem might be related too?
The dead space remake is known to stutter. But I´m experiencing the same with you in games, 1-2 fps dropped and huge stuttering occures It´s no vram issue because it also affects old games It´s no ram issue because I´m closing my browser and other ram heavy apps before gaming It doesn´t matter if I set a fps cap or not AC Odyssey is one of the games which hits my CPU hard at times, stuttering for different reason Far Cry Primal has weird stuttering, multiple lags a second, lasting for 10-15 seconds but different stuttering as well

Removing ansel worked, mpo worked. But when I come back the day after, the stuttering comes back.
This might have fixed it: Taking out cables to my idle monitors; hdmi for close-by TV and my VR headset.
Go into nvidia control panel and set threaded optimisation to auto or off. Problem solved.

Will there be any negative effects when setting the value to disabled? I have some stutters in some games, specifically in L4D2 and sons of the forest
