    Great review. I’m a Mevo+ owner…love it, but you did nail the issues with it…In addition to what you pointed out, I wish that the data transferred into the cloud and to all your devices automatically…if you use it on your phone at the range, and then want to look through all the data on your iPad, you need to backup the data to the cloud manually, and then download it on your iPad…and when you do that, it overwrites any macros you may have set up (like launch parameters for each club), unless they are identical on both units…frustrating! I also wish you were able to pull up data from two different sessions to compare…would be nice to see a range session from before a golf lesson and compare it on the screen next to one from after a swing session to see if the parameters you were trying to improve actually did…

    Have been using the mevo+ for a couple months now and love it. I have an outdoor yard setup and use different apps on an iPad. For anyone with the connection issues, there is a great bypass to this. Connect your iPad to your iPhone over Bluetooth and the iPad will use your phones cellular data.

    I have the Mevo+ 2023 edition and my only gripes are the same as yours with the micro USB charging port and Wi-Fi connection. Other than that, this thing is amazing. It is incredibly accurate and packs in a ton of data without the pro package and it doesn’t require an annual subscription (talking to you skytrak). It’s incredible. I can’t say enough good things about it

      I think so, don’t quote me on it. the mevo produces its own Wi-Fi signal and you use it to connect it to your device so I’m pretty sure you can use it without data. But you definitely need data for the simulator software

    With the included e6 courses, can you then purchase stand alone courses in addition if desired or would any additional course require a yearly subscription to e6? And whst is the difference between e6 connect and e6 golf?

    I’m sincerely not one to leave a review of things, but I fee like I should because I bought my Mevo+, in part, because of the glowing recommendations of this channel. I’m disappointed to say the least and wish I’d have gotten something else. It’s extremely picky about how it’s set up, at least into a net. Mine has had a TON of issues, including battery issues that have required me to send in to flightscope and has even started logging hundreds of blank shots at random. When it’s good, it’s good. When it’s not, and that’s not exactly rare, it’s unusable at worst and untrustworthy at best. Also - flightscope customer support is actually quite good about reaching out at helping - but be forewarned - that if you have an issue they will troubleshoot you to death. I’ve felt like I am part of their R&D team at times, trying to set up meetings, etc…. all I wanted was something I could turn on a few times a week to hit balls without going to the range. I’d understand the issues at the R10 price point, but at their price point, they need to do a lot better. Hope this helps someone before they fork over $2k.

    I’ve had launch monitors in the past, and as you mentioned, it’s simply too tedious to set up each time at the range. I was hoping technology got us passed that but unfortunately not yet. The data was great, but it got to the point I didn’t trust the numbers due to set up, particularly club data like path. The standard Mevo+ isn’t bad for distances and ball speed, but anything that requires exact set up, for data such as club path and club face data, I’d say it’s not worth it.

    Hey Sean, great video on the Mevo Plus. With everything that you have said, I also feel the Mevo Plus is probably the best value launch monitor. No subscriptions and all of the native integrations with 3rd party software makes the Plus a viable option. Speaking of integrations, one I wanted to ask you about is the Mevo’s integration with the Stacks Speed Training system. I heard your warning that the Mevo Plus is probably not the best choice if speed training is high on your list, but wanted to know if you had used the Stacks system and more specifically, had you used it with the Mevo Plus? Saw some videos on the Tube about it and it looks pretty seamless. Wanted to get your view in case you had one on this subject. No issues if you don’t. Thanks again for the in depth video on this!

      Thanks! I have not personally used that system with the Mevo Plus (or at all). But if you've seen other people do it on RUclips, then I have no doubt it will likely work! So I'd go for it. I haven't spent that much time with speed/tempo training using the Mevo Plus. My initial thoughts were just that some other wearable devices were a little more consistent (DeWiz, S70, T9 watches for instance).

    How did you find the accuracy of the unit when using range balls outside? My understanding is that this unit has the ability to convert distances when using range balls to what they would be with a premium ball on course and that is a major selling point for me because I want to use the unit to understand my distances.

    Does the Mevo+ work accurately with foam golf balls? I don’t trust my net and swing with all the houses around my backyard but I want a launch monitor to track what it is I’m doing. It’s the fact that I need 6-10 feet from golf ball to net that has me worried. Normally I stand close enough where any shanks or mishits get swallowed up.
    I’m not sure if anyone’s tried hitting foam balls with it and given a review

    • @markstone5593

      it actually measures the speed and spin of the ball, you can hit wall nuts if you want but i dont see how this will help your golf, specially hitting foam balls

    I'm guessing in terms of set up each time, if you are just dealing with an indoor sim and you are never going to move it, once it's set perfect, it's perfect, correct? I could see how this unit wouldn't work easy for anyone who wants to take it to the range...you'd spend more time setting it up than hitting balls.

    • @breakingeighty
      @breakingeighty  9 месяцев назад +1

      Totally. If you leave it in your Sim, it's always good to go. And to be clear, while yeah it takes a couple extra minutes to dial in on the range, it's really not that bad. Just an extra step to be sure you take.

    How long does your discount last?

    • @breakingeighty
      @breakingeighty  Год назад

      It should be good indefinitely. The exceptions are if FlightScope is running a sale of their own, then my discount might not work on top of it. Occasionally, if that's the case, the code "BREAKINGEIGHTY" will sometimes still work for an additional 5% off the sale price, but it just depends on what they decide to do for any given promotion.
