“Convince the wife??” I AM the wife who has been begging to put the sim room in, and even asked his golf buddies to weigh in and convince him to move it along!! 😆😆😆 Thanks for all the info!
@@GolfBusters LOL!!! I’m trying to convince my golfer hubby to jump this project over a few others! I mean, think of all the stress relief while working on other projects…right??
Wish my wife would be on same page. The best thing I have noticed is putting many things in golf sim room that she likes..nice couch, mini bar, fridge, movie theater style things like that.
I like the revisions. Now all that's missing is a Golden Tee. Only thing I might change during my simulator build is using memory foam fabric covered tiles to help reduce bounce back. **Also, It's called the "Ace Pot". Most disc golf leagues have an ace pot that works the same way. Buy in for a $1-$2 every week until someone hits. A lot of people will travel to a league they never play in if they catch wind the ace pot is getting high. Pretty fun.
God I can’t wait for a set up like this I’m in holland Michigan so I need to build me a nice little spot like this for my family and me for the winter 🥶 ❄️☃️🌨️ but love the videos as always keep it up and amazing set up bro hope to have one soon😎
I’ve watched this video at least a dozen times over the last 7 months. I love the panel idea and am about to start working on building the sim. Just gotta play in a member guest next week first lol
By far one of the best simulator educational videos/series on YT. I have a question though; My wife has agreed to let me build out a similar building in our backyard. Originally I was going to try and squeeze a shop and simulator in a 20x30 or 24x32 foot building. I was going to section off the simulator part to be like 14x20 and the rest a shop. Now my wife is sold on the whole thing being a big hang out spot for movie nights and golf and open out to fire pit. So my question to you is, how big is the simulator area? I'm guessing like 25x25ft from trying to eyeball your videos. I realize you have a garage behind the screen but I just want dimensions of the simulator room itself. I love what you've done and think its amazing. I already own a skytrack sim and use a net and cheap 120" screen and projector in my garage. Would be awesome if you could include dimensions of the room and the layout. Would help me a lot. I'll wait for a response here and then email if you don't see this. Thanks again. Looking forward to new content.
Those custom wallpads look amazing! I don't have the space for a build like this currently, but if I do ever get the opportunity I will definitely do this.
i would need to buy a "that was easy, staples button" and program it to say "hey apogee, mulligan, yes." awesome video. going to be building a sim soon, love watching your channel! thanks for all the ideas in this one! only question I have is have you tried the new "swing caddie 4"? that's the one I've been considering because it has sim tech built in.
The SC4 is under 550 USD and come with a free EC6 course WITHOUT any subscription That is the BIGGEST Plus. I'm so torn between the Apogee and the Uneekor Eye X02. Everywhere I read is mainly gspro. Any advice or opinion on why either way? I think the voice features are cool but the software of gspro is a hard one for me to pass up
LOVE these videos!!! A couple quick questions... 1) Are the deals still available for the impact screens, 2) what are the dimensions of your building (minus the garage behind the screen), and 3) how big is the concrete pad out front? Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you for all of the great tips! We are building a 24x24 garage this spring and I have been trying to get a visual of what it could potentially look like and some of the restrictions. Your place is perfect! Gotta keep the swings going in these cold Michigan winters! I do have a question, how far are you from the screen when hitting? And how far back in your mevo?
I love the build! Thanks for the in depth descriptions. What do you use for heating and cooling? I’m planning to do something very similar with our detached garage
The divot board is very realistic. The ball being suspended in the air means you’re hitting the ground before the ball. No excuses for poor ball striking
Hi great video , just on the padding how did you fix it to the walls , glue, screw etc , and how does the foam go with balls hitting it the , is there a video on your site that covers all the about questions cheers mal
So glad I found GOLFBUSTERS and this video! We are building a home and planning a golf simulator in the basement. Could I email you some architectural drawings and get some advice/recommendations?
LOVE the look of the room - in the early process of building our custom home and the Mrs has approved a golf sim space - any recommendations for someone with virtually ZERO tools or skills on a company that makes the wall panels?
Thanks yeah found it in the spread sheet like 5 minutes after I posted. Room dimensions? looking wider than your "standard" single car garage width@@GolfBusters
Hello and thanks for this. I am looking at setting up similar setup in the basement. walls and ceilings are drywall. How are the wall panels attached to the walls? I want to build by own panels as well.
For the strip that you made in this video and a few others, all of them were pretty different. What do you think is your #1 most realistic 2x4 hitting strip cost aside?
I have had the mevo+ for a while and love it. Use it to run e6 off an iPad and it reads incredibly accurate and it’s super fun. The ONLY drawback is I can’t get it to read putting accurately at all on E6. Any suggestions, would love to pick your brain on this.
Now that you've had your sim for a while, how would you recommend creating the turf flooring with a hitting strip. I don't think I need a hitting mat but just the strip and wondered what you have determined to be the best product for both the deck and hitting strip.
If you guys ever want to make a video building a system in a garage. Id be glad to let you come film!! I want to get one built in my garage next fall or earlier.
Looks Great! We are in the middle of building our sim. Building is up and i'm framing, insulating, etc. Probably going to be next winter before we actually play golf in it, but have been a little wishy washy on launch monitor. I was really thinking the Uneekor eye xo 2, but after watching this the Apogee might be an option. Can you use GSPRO with Apogee or just E6?
It comes with E6 because Trugolf APOGEE owns E6. I also believe they will be giving their brand new APEX software with it! APEX looks amazing they gave me a sneak peak the other week.
Are you able to hit 50 yard higher shots on a setup like this? Do you move closer to the screen? Is it better to build some type of net above or just let them hit the ceiling on a popped up driver shot?
Please do a review on the apogee. My biggest gripe is it doesn't show aoa spin lift and other metrics which seem like it should be capable of doing so especially since uneekor has those capabilities at a similar price point.
Question about your padded vinyl squares: Do you think 2" egg crate is "good enough"? Do you wish you would have gone thicker? Softer foam? Firmer foam? Love to hear what you think of it now that you have used it for a while, and have probably shanked a few balls into it
@@GolfBusters Nice. I appreciate the quick response. I am putting together a parts list and my gut thinking was 2" wouldn't be enough (*thats what she said). But I can save quite a bit if I go with 2". Kind of trying to find a best bang for my buck. Look great, and not break the bank
Can you recommend a camera to attach to my mevo system. I want to add a a side and rear facing camera system. There are ao many to choose from. Do you have one you really like
Looking to build a simulator in my house and I’m curious on what people recommend for space needed and launch monitor that works for lefty and righty golfers. I have a room that is 16’ wide x 12’ deep x 12’ high. Could put the impact screen on the 16’ wall or the 12’ wall but was interested in a launch monitor for under $5k that easily works with both types of golfers. Thanks!
Hey MarK! If you want lefties and righties without having to move anything you’ll need 19 feet of depth and the Mevo+ BUT, you could get the BLP and GSPro and do the play out hole option and move it around. The space would work great for that
What about using the Mevo+ and building a track to move the launch monitor to different set positions? If I have a 3-4’ hitting pad, would it be possible to build something to allow easy movement of the launch monitor without having to change any settings or calibrations?
how do you feel about the putting turf on 1 inch foam tiles on concrete garage floor instead of hardwood like you have? enough for shock absorbtion? I want to do this and then install a strip
Do you mount the apogee directly over the hitting area? If so I assume that would allow use in a shorter depth room. I've got a 13'x22' 4th stall in my garage and I'm trying to figure out what way I want to hit. According to the world wide web, 13 feet is too narrow for a home sim with a lefty and righty swinging. But 13 feet might also be too shallow for facing the other direction. Help me out here brother!

Where do i get more info (pricing) on the Apogee? I didn't see any in the price point you were talking about? Thanks
I love your sim! One thing I wish I could fix in my sim is the ball or tee hitting the screen and dropping behind the pad at the bottom of the screen (4:35 and 5:38). If anyone reading this has any ideas let me know. I am currently using gutter foam from Menard's, wrapped in denim with an expanded PVC board as a backer and attached this to the bottom of the screen. This helps but am still losing many balls and tee's behind the screen.
I'm curious how well the leather padding will hold up when someone smacks a ball into it directly. The space I'm looking to modify is undoubtedly going to be a bit smaller than what you have and I know that as I progress I'll be hitting some errant shots. Also how did you attach the pads to the side walls?
What did you use for the bumper on the bottom? I followed your video and converted my theater room, real similar setup, but I have torn through several couch cushions and need to find a permanent solution for accidental stingers.
@@GolfBusters thanks for the reply! I should have assumed that’s what it was. I was initially going to do that with the vinyl but it was too bouncy, didn’t think about a different fabric.
Did you happen to use drywall hung vertically and then use the board and batten look to hide seams? i am thinking of doing this because i am not good at finishing drywall and really don't want to pay the amount they want to finish the drywall.
Hey Terry! I may have misunderstood your question so correct me if i'm wrong. But we do the putter ball in person which is on the floor and I highlight in the video. But in terms of games we play on the simulator we actually don't putt on the simulator. We find putting on a simulator never makes you better at putting and it just takes a ton of time.
Hey! It is the Tee line turf option from US sports turf but they stopped selling it in smaller dimensions. I would look around turf distributors in your area for 1 inch thick (Driving range turf) and see if anyone sells anything. Or just look online until you find a hitting strip that is around 1 to 1.25 inches thick!
What happens if/when the golf ball hits the board on the back of the padding at the perfect angle. The area between the screen and the back of the custom panels. Does it come flying back or not really?
Great video. I am thinking of doing a sim build myself and like the mevo+ but was interested in learning more about the apogee. I was really impressed with the club face at impact video. I can't seem to find any in depth unbiased review of the device here or on utube. I looked through GolfBusters video's hoping to find one but was unable. Anyone have a link. Thanks
Hey! We are trying to put out a couple reviews on it in the coming weeks. Send me an email with all questions and I'll help you decide. GolfBustersOfficial@gmail.com
It’s considered cheap relative to the price of a proper golf simulator. $5,000 is cheap for a golf simulator but not cheap for a phone etc. Price is relative
How is the mat working out so far. I just bought. $50 for hitting mat space. Hope so. Does it not need a divot composition like the ol magic hitting divot mat? Is it worth the hype value to cost assessment and how would you improve the realism?
On the panels where you can't get behind the wall... how did u attach them? I don't have access behind either side wall for mine. Just liquid nails or something like that?
Your going to want the frame to be shorter than the screen so there is no gaps. So frame itself I would add about 6-8 inches on either side but the border of the frame should cover the screen
@@GolfBusters Does that include the area behind the screen? Im about to build a detached garage for my simulator and am trying to nail down a perfect size. I was originally thinking 32x32 but after sing this that might be more than I actually need. Do you ever feel cramped in the 24x24 or do you feel its a good size?
I think one thing to know with companies is they can improve. Working with them the last month I can tell they are dedicated to improving the device and making it as good as it can be. I've had great results and any issues i've had you can tell the team really cares and usually has the issue resolved within the week.
Hey I did! The turf I used got discontinued so I found a site that sells a 2 in 1. I recommend cutting off the (Rough Portion) if you don't want it to just use the fairway portion!

I would look around turf distributors in your area for 1 inch thick (Driving range turf) and see if anyone sells anything. Or just look online until you find a hitting strip that is around 1 to 1.25 inches thick!
Thanks! Hopefully I can find a remnant or something. @@GolfBusters
What happens if/when the golf ball hits the board on the back of the padding at the perfect angle. The area between the screen and the back of the custom panels. Does it come flying back or not really?
Haven’t had it happen in 3 years

Great video. I am thinking of doing a sim build myself and like the mevo+ but was interested in learning more about the apogee. I was really impressed with the club face at impact video. I can't seem to find any in depth unbiased review of the device here or on utube. I looked through GolfBusters video's hoping to find one but was unable. Anyone have a link. Thanks
Hey! We are trying to put out a couple reviews on it in the coming weeks. Send me an email with all questions and I'll help you decide. GolfBustersOfficial@gmail.com
The fact that this is considered cheap blows my mind
It’s considered cheap relative to the price of a proper golf simulator. $5,000 is cheap for a golf simulator but not cheap for a phone etc. Price is relative
How is the mat working out so far. I just bought. $50 for hitting mat space. Hope so. Does it not need a divot composition like the ol magic hitting divot mat? Is it worth the hype value to cost assessment and how would you improve the realism?
I have loved the mat I have! I don't think you need the divot action feature.
On the panels where you can't get behind the wall... how did u attach them? I don't have access behind either side wall for mine. Just liquid nails or something like that?
Velcro!
How big would u frame a 16x9 impact screen? 17x10?
Your going to want the frame to be shorter than the screen so there is no gaps. So frame itself I would add about 6-8 inches on either side but the border of the frame should cover the screen
love this set up! can i ask where you got the red basket type tees? thanks
They are called birtees! Should be linked in the description!
@@GolfBusters thank you
How wide is your room? I want to build a net outside and one of my friends is, you guest it, a lefty. I was thinking about a 10x12x10
You’ll want a minimum of 15 feet of width for a lefty
@@GolfBusters thank you for the reply brother.
Great job! You have a new subscriber...
Thanks Tony!
Hey just wondering how big your garage is? I love your setup man
24x24
@@GolfBusters Does that include the area behind the screen? Im about to build a detached garage for my simulator and am trying to nail down a perfect size. I was originally thinking 32x32 but after sing this that might be more than I actually need. Do you ever feel cramped in the 24x24 or do you feel its a good size?
@joesti7607 there us another 12feet behind the screen
This setup is sweet
Thank you!
Is the Gchawk overhead launch monitor the best overall?
Haven’t tested it, love the apogee the foresight falcon looks great
how much is the building to get the correct ceiling height? my ceilings are 8 ft no bueno ....add 80k lol
how far back from the impact screen does the launch pro need to be?
It can be very close!
No set distance it needs to be away
Sorry hope much did this room cost, not including any of the sim stuff? What are the taxes on this property? What’s the square footage on your house?
is the memo plus good enough for putting?
Rule #1 never putt on a simulator.
But it’s fine not awesome takes some getting used to
Wow. I'm using a phigolf and was thinkin, of the garmin
Hi Could you share where you got the screen from?
Email me! GolfBustersOfficial@gmail.com
the trugolf sims usaly goes way to far, in my opinion.
Great looking simulator and a great video! :D
I think one thing to know with companies is they can improve. Working with them the last month I can tell they are dedicated to improving the device and making it as good as it can be. I've had great results and any issues i've had you can tell the team really cares and usually has the issue resolved within the week.
@@GolfBusters sounds awsome :)
Did you link the right thing for your 1" hitting strip?
Hey I did! The turf I used got discontinued so I found a site that sells a 2 in 1. I recommend cutting off the (Rough Portion) if you don't want it to just use the fairway portion!
Are you not using the same DIY hitting insert you made in previous videos? Did you have any issues with those?
Yup I changed to a 1 inch thick strip. The divot action mat was not very good. I have videos on how to make both.
@@GolfBusters okay great! I'll check out your video on the 1 inch thick strip! Thank you.
Great Info. Do u do this for a living or r u working in the conractor line?
RUclips is about 80% what I do no contracted experience
What software version is your apogee running on E6 just got one all the waiting on them is killing me please help
Hey Larry! I am using the .72 aid firmware, and I believe just the latest E6 version. Does that answer your question?
Would you have a link for the download ?
Link for the egg crate foam and marine leather or vinyl?
Check the description! It should be in there!
