Enjoyed the video! Thank you for posting. I purchased the Limited Edition model at the PGA Show and have really enjoyed the device so far. Ready for the weather to turn for outdoor testing! I was between a few different launch monitors and ultimately went with Mevo because it is the only device in the $2k-$10k market offering data on ALL ball flight laws.
At the Show, I spoke with a FlightScope product engineer and he had a wealth of knowledge. Much information was shared, but one note that could help your testing and assist those reading is:
In radar set up, you can (and should) adjust the height disparity between the monitor (on the ground) and the ball (on the mat). In FS Golf you can set up to 2 inches between the ground and level of the ball. Propping the monitor up, like you are in this video, creates what the engineer called a "valley", skewing data points, specifically related to height. I would imagine this is why your vertical launch angle is significantly and consistently different compared between Mevo and GC3.
    Looking forward to more content!

Something you might have overlooked since there are so many numbers, is that the horizontal launch direction was off on the Mevo+ for every single shot, usually biasing 3* to the left. In the video you can see that your shots are clearly pushing to the right (location of impact screen), the GC3 displays a 0.9* push to the right, but the Mevo+ displays a 2* pull to the left. This pattern stays for every single shot, the Mevo+ was "pulling" your shots ~3* to the left of where you were actually hitting them.
No idea if its a lighting thing, calibration thing, alignment, etc. But if you are using this as a simulator to play golf or practice shaping shots, this is a pretty big deal actually. Still think its an amazing unit at a great price, just something not to overlook.

Thanks for pointing that out. I have mevo+ at home and using trackman in range. It is what I discovered as well. It is great to know I am not alone. In addition, Mevo+'s AOA is usually 3degrees less than trackman as well. It is ball speed indoor has a significant chance of 3% higher than other radar solution as well.

@@paulpengyang I believe it's important to either have the Mevo+ device set below the ball level, and entering this information during setup, or having it on the same level as the ball with a continuous, level surface to the tee area. Having it propped up on something causing a gap or 'valley' effect between sensor and ball, like on its case in this video, can skew the data points. It should either be below the ball or on the same level with a continuous surface between it and the ball. Setting it above or level behind a 'valley' will likely throw the numbers out.

If I was to buy a launch monitor it would be for outdoor use at my local club, not interested in a simulator mode. As such I would want as much ball and club data. As most require special Marked balls to generate this then unlikely I’ll get one. I suppose I would have to build a net in the back garden.

I just received my Mevo+ LE and I think it’s quite cool. I do have a question on your setup during testing. Have you tried maybe adding (if you have it) a runner between the Mevo+ and where you hit the tee? Reason being is that flight scope does say you need to have the same plane from the Mevo to your hitting spot. Just because the radar will bounce off of the edges of the mat. I mean your results are great don’t get me wrong. But maybe that could be why your launch angle was off? If it didn’t matter then that’s cool to know too. Thanks for the video!

It looks like you can now get the new body for $1999 on sale vs $2300 and choose to upgrade all the software features as you go. that would probably be what I would do get the newer model at just $100 more than the old one and then upgrade what I thought was important software wise

The Mevo + LE looks amazing. Have you tested the Mevo + limited edition outdoors hitting into a net? Always wondered if the readings are different compared to a controlled indoor environment? I'm looking at that Mevo + for club/ball data and for personal game improvement and not as a simulator. Thanks for your insight.

I found that the Mevo PLus doesnt track ball flight properly on push draws. For example at 15:44 you hit a wedge with a 5 degree in to out path and the ball flight appears to start straight and draw, rather than start right of path and draw.

I have an original and the software for badger ai is in my settup menu as beta, so I assume it will be available. Also, the mevo shouldn't be propped up with a gap between it and the mat. You should just tell it in settings that its lower than the mat and by how much.

Interesting analysis. I would think that radar measuring ball speed would be more accurate from behind the ball watching it fly away from the reader. Radar viewing directly from the side of the shot seems like a less accurate approach (shorter viewing sample). I’d love to see how a calibrated radar gun reads ball speeds of those two units. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Flightscope was more accurate on ball speed due to viewing angle. I’m no engineer though! LOL

Even if you put a trackman at the back do you really think the numbers will match the GC3? I don't think so. I will go as far as saying even if you have two GC3 both will show different numbers. So is it fair to say the one launch monitor is wrong and the other one is right because you think that numbers is more in line with your game? Try putting a trackman at the back, then we will see.

With holiday savings I paid less than $2800 for the Flightscope Mevo+ with both additional packages. I just don't see a reason to buy the limited addition unless you absolutely need the convenience of everything being included from the get go. Perhaps Badger AI will be included for free with the Limited Edition and be a paid Add-on for the others? If not the value just isn't there.
