Many Volbeat fans don't know that Michael used to front a death metal band back in the 90's, so this doesn't surprise me.
Still it'd be awesome if he kept the growls every now and then...

Michael Poulsen started a death metal band in 1991 called Dominus before starting Volbeat. You want to hear more like that check out Dancing With Magic - Dominus they still have a music video up on youtube. (It is really weird seeing him in the video singing death metal)

I always listen to the demo of this song. Michael's growls are sick. I think you're the only one here on YT that has reacted to this song. Can't find others. Wish more would react to this (or other songs) instead of like the same 3 songs and those aren't even close to being the best ones. I prefer the older stuff more than the more recent, not that it's bad though.

Michael's first bad was Dominus. He started Volbeat because he didn't want to be tied to one type of music.

I might be wrong but that is not Michael growling, it is Barney Greenway from Napalm Death, I believe.
I'm no expert so I might be wrong, but maybe Michael did the demo version by himself, and that's why he should react to that one?

The growling part sounds different. Who did it in the demo? Ive never heard the demo.
Michael Poulsen himself did the growls in the demo version. He did both parts. I assume it was because Greenway hadn't come in to record his part yet, and Poulsen wanted a feel for how it would sound. Either that or they got Greenway and liked his take better.? Idk I never looked much into it before. I gotta say, while Poulsen did a great job, I still prefer the studio version. The voice is just so good to pass up!

I think this refers to that religion is bollocks, and there aren't a "good" guy and a "bad" guy floating on your sholders and try to whisper to do good or bad (like Donald Duck stripes :)
