- While being pretty expensive ($560) the install was fairly easy. Took under 2 hours. I also heated the transition box and pushed the restrictive corner down to open airflow up a little bit MOD.
Pros:
Installs in under 2 hours
Good instructions
Do not have to cut the hood
Good fitment and hardware
Matches body lines
Cons:
Expensive
Restrictive transition box
Leaky transition box seals
Snorkel ET head should be tapered for heavy rain
Longer drain hose

Looking GOOD! great content as always!
That's a damn fine Jeep.
Thanks!
Very nice looking and no cut is 💯 times better!!!
great review. the air intake is pretty high on our talon; we'll be wet well before the intake. :-)
Decent! Hope they do them for my fiat panda jeep .
😂😅🤣 maybe!
Were you able to pickup any performance gains? Also, did you check normal operating temps before and after the install? Curious if there was any measurable differences
Honestly I didn't notice any performance gains, but I do feel it runs much cooler while slow speed offroading. Fans don't come on nearly as often, not run as long
@@MotoCheez Thanks for the feedback!
@@MotoCheez I'm getting the new 4xe in a couple weeks. I'm planning to get one for it.
@@trevinated any issues installing on the 4xe?
makes that jeep look epic !
Thanks! Had it on a while but no power etc, figured I'd get this video done
@@MotoCheez heck yah bro great work !
iam working on a new video too
I'll have to check it out.... Still no power or internet here....
@@MotoCheez aw man i hope the power lines gets fixed but i saw it was a lot of work epic job on helping out bro .
Did you change the air duck or no because they look exactly the same to me and I might just leave my factory air duck in to save time
Yes I did, they're not the same
@@MotoCheez ok thanks
Too bad it doesn't seal tight, like it's supposed to. But, it is nice to have the ability to change configuration to whether you're running windshield up/down. And, nice to be able to leave OEM pieces intact.
If I caulk it it'll be sealed good!
Pretty slick!!!
Do you have power back already? Or is this just old footage?
It's old, no power until next week supposedly. Going thru old videos while generator is on.. uploading near cell towers
Going swimming
Keytag handed to 2nd if you want one!
Send a message on insta of facebooger for your free keytag!!
@@MotoCheez I would like that new black style one if possible
The inverter needs to be inside the cockpit. It will not like being submerged under water
If I get up that high, it definitely won't! I've gone pretty deep with my other Rubi, stayed dry....
How has the snorkle performed? has is negatively impacted HP or mileage or throttle respsonse?
No, if anything it's improved, especially when hit. response exactly the same
Hey Moto, what mods should I do on my 2020 Bashan Brozz to give it more power between 7,000 and 12,000 ft. Elevation?
I'd almost think the stock jetting would work at that elevation...
@@MotoCheez bummer, do you think opening the air box and removing the catalytic converter and putting a different exhaust would work?
If you put an aftermarket exhaust you can get a little more out of it. You can try going up on the jetting, I'm not sure at your elevation.
does this unit allow any better performance/ better air flow engine for 2.0l or 3.6l?
I'm not sure, but definitely gives it colder ram air 😎
Yess more cheese!
Honestly the leaks are OK. If you have standing water up higher than that, you've got bigger problems.
That is true, but if you dip into a deep water hole for a half a minute or so and you don't have a snorkel you're in real big trouble. It's for the oops factor basically
#3 - Missed again
👍
IF we could only protect the TIPM module and connectors.
As we'd tell our friends when we go out to the beaches of Oregon and here in Washington State... Don't liquidate your assets 😜 🌊🌊🚙🚚🚚🚙⛱️
Where are the diff and trans breathers located? How high up?
They run up and are a little past the door handle height
Well motto, i guess now you can your jeep snorkeling... but i think you better buy him some water wings
It's just insurance!
@@MotoCheez i know.. just jokes are fun...
Do you think this can be modded into a jk?
I'm not sure. The JL is a little different. I can check the measurements between the 2 jeeps I have here
@@MotoCheez thank you so much
I just measured, no those curved panels behind the hood are way different shape and size, sorry. They must make something similar for a JK I would imagine
Mrs Voorhees turned me onto Jeeps
YES!!❤️💯❤️❤️💯🔥
@@MotoCheez a little fact for ya the driver of that Jeep was Tom Savinis makeup assistant Taso Stavrakis. I know because they had an interview with Robbi Morgan who played Annie and the host asked her who was driving that Jeep. I believe that Jeep was a 1966 CJ5. Ive been a Jeep owner since 2005. I had a 05 LJ, 2010 JKU, and now 2012 JKU. I hated the 2010 3.8 caravan engine lol.
@@l.a.m7645 love the info!! I've also owned Jeeps since forever, 35 plus years. Hated the 3.8 as well, the 3.6 VVT seems decent. My MW3 Rubi has over 200k miles. That transmission was Mercedes built, 0 issues with transmission, only oil cooler failure on the motor.
Time to buy a hot Silicon Gun Silicon for the win...
does it fit the uk/eu version?
I'm not sure. If the airbox is on the right side sitting in car I'd say so.
@@MotoCheez its on the right side.. but in us version battery is on right side too where as in uk its on the left
Hmm. It should work I'd say... Price went up since then though.
#15...getting better (no, not really but...heh) 😉
Second
You're first!!
Give my keychain to the second person! Woot!
Time for an aftermarket crawler transfer case instead of wasting money on other things
Has the lower gearcase on the rubis. And with the 8 speed, it's crazy low. Not a "waste" when I did and will do a lot of river crossings.
She can breathe
Don’t think the drain on the inside was a great idea . It has a pet cock that will not function correctly from the inside of the air box .
I figure when I open the box I can drain it from there. If I ran a long hose I could have put the valve low. No way to reach the valve where it would have been
Oh, I thought it was a one way valve. The instructions were vague on that.
Got mine coming next week for my Gladiator. Thanks for making a helpful video .
@@c4dan it's a ball valve, and I do want to run a long hose and put on end. Easier then opening the airbox, if it's dry no need to open 😁
GT phone home
🤣😅
Beep
Meep
Is there any issues driving it in heavy rain???
No, I haven't had any issues with heavy rain. And I've been through downpours.
