I had one of these and removed it as it distorted with the engine heat where the hose clamps were and it opened up enough to get my hand inside it so it was pointless for water crossings
The metal things that are inside the tube have come out on the tube that we have. How do you hold those in and where do they go exactly? They don't just fit into place perfectly anywhere??
I have enjoyed my RR snorkel. I color match the high snorkel just to be a dork. :)

Did you check that the rainwater that entered from the intake duct was properly discharged?
The top of the snorkel is designed to allow rainwater to seep out the flanges
If the water is that deep you won't be there anyway, how many MPG does that cost everyday?
Apparently most have improved their MPG with it
