Rugged ridge suggests that you DO NOT install the hose clamps on the top or bottom. You can install them on the left or right side. It caused fitment issues with my 2 door wrangler JL turbo. It squished the plastic allowing air in. Be very modest with tightening those clamps too as the plastic used warps easy.
Good idea Rob. One of our listeners pointed us to this video. For the 2021 Jeep Talk Show Gladiator I think we're going to go with the cowl piece painted PRC Firecracker Red but leave the tube and top piece black.
Color matching was a spot on decision, Rob! Brilliant! You want to get rid of those wheels/tires? I would love to take those off your hands and put them on my Sting-Grey 2-door sport.
The pain match is perfect and really ties it together! I agree with @manfred that I would also paint the top of the low mount where the screws go in, but even the way you have it still looks cool.
What kind of paint and painting method did you use? Did you make a video of the painting process ???That would be a great video, love the high mount and color match !!! Love the channel keep up the good work!!!1
Any chance you could encourage Rugged Ridge to work one of these up for the Mojave? You’d think modifying it for the Mojave would be a priority as it’s a desert truck and would really benefit from the cold air intake.
It looks really good painted the same color. The cowl part must have been sanded, I painted mine and it looks OK but the texture bothers me. I should have sanded it smooth first.
I don't like the fake low mount intake left on with the high mount install. It doesn't make sense to have two intakes so why make it look like there are two? I'd rather see the high mount alone without it look like you now have two. That being said, I love the color matching you've done. Definitely takes it to a whole other level.
Stupid question, I have a JK . Is the JL so different under the hood that this kit could not be adapted for the use in a JK? I don't want to notch my hood, and I don't want to take whole front end apart and snake a tube down to the rocker panel then back up to the airbox!.
I have contacted 2 local body shops and they both have refused to paint these parts saying that the paint will not stay on. they have told me that there is no way to sand and prep the surface and that they are not made to be painted. They say that it just wont last. Can anyone tell me if they have any experience with these being painted and holding up to car washes and mild off road activity?
Looks fantastic. on my to do list eventually to have mine painted. Did you any prep work, or did a shop take care of it all? Oh and I thought I would go with the low mount, but after doing the work, I like the high mount better, and how I have it today.
I used a local body shop for the paint and prep work. It didn't add that much extra to the cost to let the shop do all the prep, knocking down the texture on a few parts of the snorkel.
Hi Rob. I have a 2019 JL Rubicon with a gobi stealth rack and was wondering if the amfib snorkel would fit with along the cowl. Additionally I have a genesis dual battery kit and was wondering if there would be any clashing with the snorkel under the hood. Pls let me know. Thank you
I like the look of this but I’m curious if I can still use an A pillar light bar mount or something like a Gobi roof rack that mounts to the cowl area?
Absolutely perfect! It looks like an original factory part! Well done! I will do the same to mine. What is then total cost of the paint job? Thank you!
How much clearance do you think you gained with just the low mount? 6"? Also and concerns/troubles with flooding the low mount if charging through puddles/mud? Thanks. Color match looks great. Great video, well done.
It would only be a few inches at best with the low mount, but the advantage would be drawing in cooler air from outside the engine compartment. There would always be a chance of flooding the intake with water when "charging" through a water or mud puddle. The correct way to ford a water crossing is at a deliberate but controlled pace to create a "wave" in front of the Jeep as you move through the water.
Love your videos, Rob! The Snorkel looks great! Is your antenna on the side of your JT a CB Antenna? Also, I would like to ask if you could do a video on the new rugged Ridge Max Terrain Fender Flares. :) Keep up the great work and stay safe.
Thanks Tim! The antenna is our Quadratec Stubby AM / FM Antenna - www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/16-stubby-antenna-jeep-wrangler-jk-jl We'll get a video for the new Max Terrain Flares as soon as they become available.
If you are thinking of something like a ram air intake, that is not needed. The stock air intake is actually under the hood and does just fine as far as getting enough air into the engine. The snorkel facing the front isn't about creating a ram air intake as much as it is simply more appealing of a look (IMO). As for the low mount, it still allows the intake to draw in cooler air by having it draw from outside the engine bay. Hope that helps explain it.
The low mount should have been colored matched as well, except for the intake screen. I have to say that I do not like the snorkel. because of color non-match color. I think you made it look like it belongs. Want to bring me a billet silver colored version for my LE? .
High mount is nice and all but it looks ugly because it has 2 vents with one not functional i prefer the low mount that is unless i go windshield deep water crossing🤣

The paint match is a game changer! Looks awesome! High mount for sure
For the low mount I would paint the top where the four screws go, but leave the bezel black so it matches the high mount. Looks great either way.
Really like low mount, low key look. Looks great color matched. This shop is my dream show - nice wall art!!
I never even thought about color matching, that's genius!
The paint match was an awesome idea! Low mount for the win!
Paint REALLY makes it a finished job. I like the low profile, but the high mount is fantastic with the paint!
The high mount color matched is killer. Looks insanely beautiful. Even if it's not functional, it looks so amazing.
Not functional? How do you mean?
I like the color matched snorkel.
I agree Rob that looks killer!
High mount obstructing the view Low mount looks awesome 🚌
any additional noise, looks like some benefit of cool air intake without all the noise
Looks great Rob! It's all about the details!
Wow !..Sir..that Low profile one just blends with the hood and also with the side fender vent..
I like the low profile look a lot but the high mount looks more oem now with the matched paint color. Great idea!
Good idea Rob. One of our listeners pointed us to this video. For the 2021 Jeep Talk Show Gladiator I think we're going to go with the cowl piece painted PRC Firecracker Red but leave the tube and top piece black.
Really like the look of the low profile. To me the high boy looks a bit much.
Rob, what a great idea! Little details like this just make a build that much better. Great job and great video. Thanks
I really like the color match look

Like the color matched low mount!!
Love the paint
Looks great. I will be colour matching my low profile intake. It arrives in a few days. Looking forward to it.
Where’s the ECODiesel Snorkel!!!!!!!?????? 😢
Been eyeing this set up; dig the low profile color match with black accents. Nice Job!
What kind of paint and painting method did you use? Did you make a video of the painting process ???That would be a great video, love the high mount and color match !!! Love the channel keep up the good work!!!1
Agree I need more info! I bought this same set up and have had 2 separate shops refuse to paint it, saying the plastic won’t hold paint.
Hi-mount color matched!
My white snorkle the inserts came out and hi mount went back wards on the freeway
Lo pro paint matched looks phenomenal!
It looks awesome with the paint matched.
Absolutely!! Freekin awesome!!
I'm digging the paint match! Looks so good
Paint match a plus mid/low mount looks best
they should make this design for the jku...the first model its a freaking pain in the ass
High mount for sure 👍
I like the paint match look for the fender one. The high snorkel looks ridiculous unless you're actually in a situation that requires it.
High mount for the win!
Damn that low proline version is awesome. Hope they make that for jks
Rob that looks awesome 👌. I would have done the same thing.
That look fantastic nice job
Wow. Nailed that mod!
Looks great in color match !!!
I would like to see if is possible to install on Wrangler EcoDiesel. The reason why I ask is because the intake is the other side.
Love the low mount because you can still fold the windshield down. About how much would it have costed you to only do the low mount you think?
I just bought mine. It comes with a high and low mount, which is nice. I bought mine from a reseller for 500 and swapped a K&N the same day.
I think we need it for Mojave Damn it!!!!
Why won’t it fit?
@@colincrenshaw8529 that's why we need one. I don't want to cut the hood style.
Tell these guys to design one for JKs!
Any chance you could encourage Rugged Ridge to work one of these up for the Mojave? You’d think modifying it for the Mojave would be a priority as it’s a desert truck and would really benefit from the cold air intake.
Why won’t it fit? I kinda wanna buy one and find out why
Looks awesome 👍🏻
Rob, what antenna is that? I love it!
It's the Quadratec Stubby Antenna - www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/16-stubby-antenna-jeep-wrangler-jk-jl
Check out the Ronin factory antenna. They're really stubby. I have one on my JL.
It looks really good painted the same color.
The cowl part must have been sanded, I painted mine and it looks OK but the texture bothers me.
I should have sanded it smooth first.
Looks awesome
Nice! You use Adams Detail spray, I have more Adam's products than I will ever use!
What is the advantage of modding that cowl foam block and reusing it?
Compatible Kc bar?
Will this fit a JL with the factory option "cold air induction". IE different larger air box?
Hey Rob, what do both options sound like when you're driving?
Do they make this for the Gladiator JT Diesel???
Are there any issues with restricted airflow?
Fantastic!!
Are there any performance gains or lost?
Does this kit works on the 3.8L version?
I don't like the fake low mount intake left on with the high mount install. It doesn't make sense to have two intakes so why make it look like there are two? I'd rather see the high mount alone without it look like you now have two. That being said, I love the color matching you've done. Definitely takes it to a whole other level.
Looks great. Love the paint match. Does anyone make one for the JKU that mounts without having to cut my Hood?
That looks so good!
Stupid question, I have a JK . Is the JL so different under the hood that this kit could not be adapted for the use in a JK? I don't want to notch my hood, and I don't want to take whole front end apart and snake a tube down to the rocker panel then back up to the airbox!.
No such thing as a stupid question! I don’t think it would work on a Jk really. I think you’d spend way more time and money than it’s worth.
I prefer the low profile look.
Great idea

What advantages do you get with the low profile side mount?
Has anyone put this snorkel on a tj? Is there modifications I need to make to install this type of snorkel on my 2001 wrangler
I like the look of this but I’m curious if I can still use an A pillar light bar mount or something like a Gobi roof rack that mounts to the cowl area?
Would this fit a 2018 Jk?
Will this rugged ridge amfib snorkel system void the jeep warranty?
Where can I get one that fits the Mojave or 392? The cowels are different
Unfortunately Rugged Ridge does not offer one for the 392 or Mojave
Just why can't they Make One Four Diesel motor. This is the Only snorkel that. Looks good
Absolutely perfect! It looks like an original factory part! Well done! I will do the same to mine. What is then total cost of the paint job? Thank you!
I have the Holly CAI and from what I can see it looks like it would work with this snorkel. Dose that seem to be the same conclusion you have too?
Does the engine get more cold air with a snorkel?
Looks good
in funcionality whats the difference between low and high mount?
One is lower, one is higher.
I want to accent pieces with the same dash red but can't find the color code for the the life of me.
Looks factory. 👍
Hi it looks awesome 👌

That looks amazing 😉 Would you know if this would fit on the Australian 2.2ltr diesel JLUR, the air box is on the same side and looks the same 🤔
Available for RHD now?
Love your videos, Rob! The Snorkel looks great! Is your antenna on the side of your JT a CB Antenna? Also, I would like to ask if you could do a video on the new rugged Ridge Max Terrain Fender Flares. :) Keep up the great work and stay safe.

Would the tube running above the battery interfere when you have a genesis dual battery kit installed?
Not sure but just installed mine today it covers about half of the battery
According to the Genesis website, there should be no problem with this brand.
The low profile is great - but Rugged Ridge is missing out, they should make one for the drivers side.
I don't understand how the low mount works, it doesn't face the airflow.
If you are thinking of something like a ram air intake, that is not needed. The stock air intake is actually under the hood and does just fine as far as getting enough air into the engine. .
Is this system made for a jk?
This is for the JL and JT only.
Low mount but would have just left the inner part black and everything else painted
I think the inlets would look a bit better painted red to match rubicon lettering but leaving the black mesh
Wait... Nobody noticed this in your last (grill inserts) vid? Not even the wheels and lift? 🤣
High mount is nice and all but it looks ugly because it has 2 vents with one not functional i prefer the low mount that is unless i go windshield deep water crossing🤣
Snorkel
