My ´01 Civic Aerodeck also has an incredible hidden feature.
It overheats on the highway.
Lol
My 03 civic likes to squeak while I am driving lol
if i go over 130 on the highway in my pathfinder (KM/H) it likes to shake itself to death.
🤣🤣🤣
@@Zaaf2003 Damn must be nice my jeep wj could only make it to around 50 before it violently shook me into slowing down.
You are he first of the younger generation that I have seen that drives a standard shift / stick shift vehicle!!
nope its a an automatic
@@vernieashby2984Not an automatic. 6-speed manual.
The best part of this video was that you have a manual transmission. Great to see a young guy like yourself driving it old-school! Great video!!!
Tape off the cup holder and spray some vinyl on it or put rubberized grip tape so your drink dont slide.
pre pandemic i was a jeep salesman, and I thought i knew everything about these cars but wow you actually found a few features i hadn't seen. The fuse thing with the back outlet is wild! The bluetooth speaker with the gladiator is actually not standard though, its an add on.
The tail gate latch on the body is a bottle opener. Matched the “cup holder”
Jeeps with the backup camera you can go to controls on your radio while driving down the road and hit backup camera and it will come on for about ten seconds so if your pulling something or wanting to change lanes you can see back there momentarily
There’s a beverage cooler in the back of your jeep pop the cover and you will see it that’s the reason you have a cup Holder on the door, it has a drain plug so when Ice melt, cool feature!!
Robbie. So informative, not afraid of showing his funny side, and just a friendly and amazing guy. Keep the work up man!
Dude, you have a manual. That’s the greatest anti-theft there is!
We've been really impressed with the JL and JT design. Jeep really did a good job putting well thought out adds like the cup holder you showed. Oh and a very capable off road vehicle straight from the show room floor.
Underneath the passenger mat there’s a drain hole so you can pressure wash to get rid of the mud
Also driver side
@@roni2671 fuck I completely forgot lmao, thank you for that.
@@sa1837 haha np
There is multiple drain holes with rubber plugs in the floor boards. Front and rear, driver and passenger side.
@@danieloleary2038 propaply
One to add is that there is a notch in the hood latch that is designed to hold your winch control cable.
How you were at the back tailgate playing out the cupholder for the soda pop the mat that lifts up for that oddly shaped container there is a drain plug in the bottom of it and the reason why it’s there is because it’s in the built-in cooler you can look it up with ice and put your soda pops in there as well ice melts it’ll drain the more you know
This is the first video I've ever seen of yours. I really appreciate your video style. Well done, no nonsense. Keep up the good work.
lol your most effective anti-theft is probably the clutch!
Hey Robbie just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your content man, keep it up! Greets from Germany ✊🏽
A lot of comments about the AUX wiring inside the cab and under the hood. They are fused differently as well. 1 and 2 are 40 AMP, 3/4 are 15 amp.
Literally helped me with an issue I was just trying to figure out related to a dash cam. Awesome info, thanks for the video!
I used to have a saying. If you dont want people to know something (about their vehicle) put it in the owners manual. Works every time. Thats a great looking Sport👍 A stick! Cool! Name another vehicle people pay $60k for, take it home and take it apart. Ask a new pick up owner to take the doors off his new vehicle...lol. A Wrangler owner, Hell yeah! lol And the top. Good review sir👍👍😎🇺🇸
I read it as long as it comes with it. Lol
I just bought a 2024. It barely came with a manual at all. Just a 3/16” pamphlet really. Hardly contains any info at all. Have to go online to get the real one and it’s hard reading that on a phone. I’d much rather have the actual book. Plus, what if you need it and you don’t have a signal?
You’re right about Jeep people. We’re just different! Spend $60k then immediately start taking it apart and putting aftermarket parts all over it!😂😂
Great Video. Very good explanations for these "hidden" features. Keep em coming. My favorite was the power outlet in the back of the Jeep..
Awesome thanks! The ESC is good to know for having fun on the beaches. The ability to lock the jeep and not be able to turn it on with the doors are off is comforting since I always seem to work in sketch places (downtown hospitals) but want to take off the top during the summer! Please keep posting if you discover more! And I have a gladiator, now I need to check for the speaker!!
I'd like to add that unplugging that door is really handy too when the door is on and you get out while it's running and you don't get that pesky three horn honk and can still lock the doors with the remote!.
With the auxiliary switches… the momentary option would also be a useful setting if you’ve got the wench controls wired in. Momentarily running the cable in or out. It’s not something that you’d want to run as a toggle setting.
FYI since you have the aux switches, there’s also ANOTHER set of wires in your passenger footwell you can use with them PLUS there’s an extra two wires - 1 of them is accessory power (you should use it for your dash cam) and another is a battery direct connection.
Where is the secondary one in the floor board. Haven’t found that. Hard to get under the dash.
@@atucker2004 it’s passenger footwell, right side when you’re looking towards the engine. It’s a big wrap of wires all together.
Robbie pulled a Tommy Boy. "You can put six packs of buh....soda in the fridge."
Great to know. Esc and trac control “off” will also save your rear brakes, because during winter these systems overuse the brakes to control spin and skids. A better system would cut off power but Jeep uses the brakes. So my rear brakes were worn twice as fast as the front... which is the opposite as usual with regular trucks without electronic gadgets. Cheers mate.
Yep. My rears wore out at 95k
95k for a set of brake pads is frickin MARVELOUS. They don't last forever. Expecting them to last forever is like expecting your jeep to run forever because you put gas in it once. It's called "routine" maintenance because it's "routine".
Nice video. I did not know about the rear cigarette lighter and being able to switch the power. Let me blow your mind a little more about the 4 aux wires......there are also the same wires under the glove box / foot panel fuse box, so you don't have to wire something all the way to the engine bay. Like a CB radio for example. There is also 2 extra wires in the bundle not in the engine bay. The Orange/pink is switched to the Ignition and Red/White is direct to batter for constant power. Also, check out the TazerJL for some cool extra features like being able to turn off Auto Start/Stop and traction control and remember the setting so you dont have to do it each time you get in the Jeep. Lots of other features to numerous to mention. Would make a good video during your build.
For the accessories switch there are the same 4 wires inside behind the glovebox as under the hood plus a bonus one for a dash cam to hard wire it in.
Helpful I found most of this when I played with my jeep the first week
Can't wait till the crawling videos 🤙
Really useful video! Thanks for making it!
Great video, I def. learned a few things about my 2021 JLU! Thanks!
Robbie, there’s a second set of leads for the Aux Switches under the glove box. The leads are for the four switches plus direct battery power and ignition power leads. Another super hidden feature is a clothes hanger holder built into the rear roll bar. I found it when I needed to bring a change of clothes and didn’t know where to hang them.
Where is this clothes hanger at? I looked and didn't see one
Where?
Not sure if it’s on every model but my JLU Rubicon has a speaker bar above the rear passenger seat. There’s an indentation or pocket above the speakers where a hanger can hook onto. You can’t see it so you’ll need to feel for it with your hands.
@@dakine215 cool I’ll check it out thanks.
@@VYPUR360 I just went out to check the passenger side and it has a pocket as well. I also discovered that you can hang a whole wardrobe between the speakers on the middle of the roll bar! Try it out with a hanger.
Locking the vehicle with the doors and top off also locks to tailgate in case you have anything to put in the case or the storage back there.
Very cool...nice to see you have the manual transmission too. Not often you find young adults that can even drive a manual transmission vehicle.
Breaking news: old man yells at cloud
loving the old style robbie videos! 🤙
An informative video…Thanks…Many years ago, Jeep used to provide a video with the purchase of a TJ, within which, it discussed many of the features, including soft-top removal and installation, and specific ‘Jeep recommended’ driving techniques for various conditions…I’m guessing that many of the items you’ve mentioned, are in fact covered in the manual, but as you’ve pointed out…Many owners, are unlikely to ever read…
I trying to read...
Understand is different 😂
As far as the top removal and whatnot, the mopar youtube channel has all of those videos for the JL/JT now. Just ordered a JL and found that the other day. :)
@@Tethmes I think that they could do a better job in promoting the availability of materials like that, but these days, with a whole generation of people that have grown up with and had cell phones their whole lives, along with instant access to virtually any kind of information, anytime from anywhere in the world, the expectation is that people know well enough to go and look for it…
(Unfortunately, I’m now from an older generation, but doing my best, as an old dog, to learn new tricks… I wasn’t aware of the Mopar RUclips channel, but I’ll have to see what that’s all about.)
Congratulations on the purchase of your new Jeep!
Thanks for all the hidden features and I didn't know about the last one. My parents have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler unlimited Sahara and I drove it twice.
The Aux switches are an option but besides the 4 wires under the hood there are 6 wires in the passenger side foot well. the 4 Aux switches plus a ignition switched wire and a 12 volt constant on.
I didn’t know that about the footwell. They’re connected to the switches? That’s good to know!!
I don’t know about previous year models, but on the 2024 the switches were part of the tow package, for some reason.
This is probably the best Jeep hidden features video I've seen, its actually features most people don't know about. I get so tired of seeing these hidden features youtube vids, that's the same old crap you see everywhere else, and everyone already knew.
FYI the aux switches are an option and not standard but in my opinion they should be standard. Thanks for the rear plug trick though.
You left out several other hidden features - but I’ll let you know one thing you were a little short on - those 4 wires under your hood for the 4 switches - there is also the same 4 wires inside the cab under the glove box just in case you want to wire something inside the cab.
Thank you, that would work well for my dash cam.
there's SIX wires under the glove box. 4 are wired to the switches, the 5th is direct to ignition ( its on my compressor) and the 6th is direct to battery.
@@patrickmolloy6994 Thank you. I thought the Aux 1-4 was for the trailer tow package somehow. But I haven't taken the jeep yet so I didn't know.
@@ScientistPrepper the six cables are great. There’s 4 under the bonnet paired with 4 in the footwell … you can choose either a wire inside or out but not both, but you get 2 more in the footwell that are not linked to the six- but one is Acc and the other DC. Really clever of jeep 👍
@@patrickmolloy6994 and that I didn’t know. Thanks
The key fob unlock security feature. I have in my 03 mustang don’t know if it’s stock or not.
thats cool on the fuse box- i had no idea- just bought a jeep a few days ago too
so detail oriented, i love it
Blimey! Not clickbait, but actually useful! Cheers fella!
Great video you have a new subscriber. I really enjoyed the video showing the little stuff that I never knew. I have had 4 wranglers and all of them being standards. I'll definitely enjoyed you also having one that's a real Jeep lover right there🤘🏾 .
PS, I see there's a beach right behind you, me and my family been thinking about taking a trip somewhere where there's a nice beautiful beach like the one behind you. It's a long drive from Dallas where you located at? what beaches is that 🤔
Nice video. Love the Jeep. I think I’d want the 2 Door version, but not sure. I would like the added towing capability of the Unlimited, but not the size. 😊 those features you pointed out are great. The Aux switches, nice. The 12V connector at the back, the ability to change its function, nice also.
The switches functions are awesome!
okay so the wheels made it look so much better
I watched this and now I want a new jeep...thx. I'll settle for a lift kit on the old jeep thou.
Very informative. Thank you
I didn’t know about the air down/up alert feature for awhile. You set a specific air pressure on the screen let air out or put in and the horn blows when the set pressure is reached. So freaking cool!
I have never heard of this feature.
Not on jeep
Whaaaaattt!?
The Jk do this as well.
I’ve never heard that?? That would be nice.
The first fuse clip is awesome !!!!! Thank you 🙏 …
i got a hidden feature you might not know about.. kinda.. there is a secret compartment in the center console. open the lid and look under it. the plastic panel can pop out , giving you a nice place to stash emergency cash or house keys..
Pretty obvious lol
Or drugs/guns if you’re cool & tough (of which, I am neither).
@@kg0311 permanent car decal-docs | insurance registration etc
🤫🤫
I think it's actually meant to store your title or registration and any other paperwork you watn to keep around but don't want to ruin or have taken.
Thanks. I am one to read the manual ... So many people don't, they just post in a forum "How do I ..." I had an FJ Cruiser and so many people were amazed I could open my back glass.
Just subbed, love the channel! Glad you got a manual! I got mine 10 days ago
Thanks the jeep dealership couldn't give me an answer. You the man!
The Bluetooth speaker is an option not all glads have, mine does not. But mine does have the seat shaking bass middle behind the back seat, also an option.
I knew the aux switch thing, and the cup holder. Good video
Great information. Thank you!
For those folks that have the Auto Start/Stop feature (read: annoying California compliant feature), you can disconnect the outboard plunger switch on the front driver's side (under hood) and that disables the Auto Start/Stop system. That way, you don't have to remember to turn it off every time.
Does this cause the CEL to come on?
So does pressing the Auto Start/Stop switch on the dashboard, or within the settings menu.
I feel like this is a potentially cool comment and I don’t know what you’re saying. Haha. Auto start stop? What’s that?
Tazer mini
THANK YOU!!!!!!
Great video Robbie, also, if you don't want that annoying stop/start, disconnect one of the plunger switches, driverside front under the hood and the system thinks the hood is partially open defeating the stop/start.
Does it show a light on the dash saying it’s open thou?
@@VYPUR360 no, you just have a notification that stop/start is not working.
@@lesszabo5625 thanks!!
I heard this could cause your alarm feature not to work? I've just developed the habit every time I climb into the cab I hit the the button to disengage it.
@@dupton8000 there are two spring buttons under your hood, and no it doesn't defeat the alarm, I made sure and checked it. As long as only one of those are disconnected and laid to the side.
Brooo this video was better than expected
That ESC feature came in clutch ! 💯
I never plan on owning a Jeep but you best bet I’m gonna watch/like/comment on every one of these wrangler videos until I see some MPC goodies on it 😂😂
The momentary switch is great for a winch!
Nice to see another manual transmission out there!
I wonder what all can be hooked up to the aux switches, like can I hook up a PA speaker with an Amp and a module to play mp3 ring tones as my horn 🤔
“Beer can, oop, pop can” 🤣🤣🤣
Cool! Some I knew…. But will have hubby watch he’s got the Gladiator PU…
Have not seen it mentioned but the back seats on a Gladiator have key locks to lock the seat in the upright position
Aux switches also have out puts under the dash if you wanted to wire some inside the vehicle
The Aux switches are part of the tow package, at least on the 4xe. I don't know if they are on other trim levels.
There is a cooler in the back storage in the ground. Remove the cover and there is a drain when you want to remove the ice.
With the JL the back swing gate the panel can be used for light molle gear holders again as long as it doesn’t weigh a lot.
Hey great tips just got a rubicon and realize that it more features than my sport wrangler now I or go look for exact stuff thx
On my gladiator if you press then hold the mute button the rear camera comes on and stays on. Now I have a tazer mini so I'm not sure if it's a feature added by that or if it is a standard feature.
Well done! Thanks
awesome video, just bought a Jl rubicon so very informative, thanks heaps. Got any tips for a newbier on the best tow kit to fit? and best winch?
fitzy
Smittybuilt Winches are priced less then the Warn Winches and are just as reliable, I have had both, and to be honest, for the amount a normal person would use them, the Smitty would be a great choice.
Unless you are just wanting to spend the extra money On a Warn.
As long as you get the synthetic rope and not wire, much more effective and much safer.
If you already own a winch that has a wire cable or find a good deal on one, it’s easy to find a replacement synthetic rope and don’t forget to switch out the Fairleads, as they both require different one.
Cheers.
Thank you so much for this video.
AUX switch's four wires are also located behind the plastic panel by the front passengers, right foot. Can be used for interior accessories.
How many amps does it let through?
Kind of like the cupholder "feature", the sun visor has a paper clip at the point where the visor connects to the jeep. Not the swingarm. So on each visor, towards the center of the jeep. Door - swing arm - visor - clip - rear view mirror - clip - visor - swing arm - door
Aux switches only come with the Tow package. Not there by default, but many dealers have that as a pre-built option.
Awesome !!!! Please tell me what camera your using to vlog ?
There’s a feature if you leave the accessory on with the door open for a certain amount of time you have to put the fob on the start button to start it. So that if you left it in accessory by accident and went inside someone can’t get in, start it and leave. Kinda cool. Another cool feature is if you turn the music down, the jeeps loud af and you can hear stuff rattle.. pretty cool 😂 2019 Unlimited Rubicon
Is that N on the bottom of the info gauge telling you that you’re in neutral or is that the compass? Because mine def doesn’t have a gear indicator
Thanks for the video! What color is your Jeep?
In the back there are holes to put all your door, roof and windshield bolts.
Damn I’ve had my gladiator for over a year and I didn’t know you could turn off esc thanks for the info!
Hey no problem🤘🏼
Me too!!
FYI the aux switches and power outlet in back are part of the tow package which is a option.
Excellent information, thanks. I subscribed and will watch your other videos.
I don't take my jeep to the dealer for service I do it myself, but the other day my service 4×4 systems ,but everything works, any ideas?
U called it Pop. I had to subscribe 👊🏻
with the AUX, look under the passenger side panel, you will find more AUX wiring.
Did you know if you get the aux switches from the factory they also have 4 wires on the Inside of the cab under the passenger dash by the floorboard?
Great video. I love my, 2021 Sarge Green, Jeep Wrangler, unlimited sport.
I really wanted Sarge Green, on my 2024, but there were none in my area other than really expensive ones. I ended up with silver instead. I still really like how it looks, I just wish there weren’t 100 like it nearby. At least it’s not black or grey though like 98% are! 😂😂
@@srcastic8764 There are a few like mine nearby, but I had 18" Black Stars put on the front doors, that ended the look a likes.
@@thomasgarrison3949 I got new wheels and a couple of other, more minor things that make more subtle differences, but together they set it apart from the handful of other silver ones in the area. Or so people tell me. But man, black and grey are everywhere here! You’d think it’s all that’s allowed to be sold or something! I absolutely refused to buy those colors. 😂
Nice to see someone who bought a real jeep = manual trans!
Just got a 2021 Rubicon with the 6-speed manual. Love it, but lot of people don't know you lose about 30% of the towing capacity in a manual.
My 2003 Jeep Liberty has the back power outlet and all the bells and whistles that 2003 offered but im getting a 2008 liberty along with my 03 and i barely understand the turn signals -_- but i understand how to run the 4 wheel drive and all that but can barely work the turn signals i feel dumb lol
So why did you get the wrangler over the gladiator? I went from a wrangler rubicon to Gladiator rubicon
