The Rugged Ridge AmFib Snorkel System is available for the 2018 and newer Jeep Wrangler JL and the 2020 and newer Jeep Gladiator JT and is compatible with both the 2.0L and 3.6L engines. This unique snorkel system gives you the choice of a high mount snorkel, or a low cowl mount snorkel in one kit that you can switch between in a matter of seconds. The AmFib snorkel doesn't require any modification to the exterior body panels of your Jeep, and re-uses your factory air box for a quick and easy installation. The AmFib Snorkel offers a number of advantages in addition to simply moving your air intake higher. I just spoke with rugged ridge, after installing this on a jeep with no mods under the hood. This is more of a dirt trail snorkel. It does not have waterproof fitment out of the box. You will need to seal it yourself. Even though it comes with a high and low mount, it is not meant for high water traversing.

Can you explain further please? From the video it seemed to be very sealed, even using silicon and Christmas tree clips, I cannot see where water would come in via this snorkel??
I like the look of the short snorkel. Especially if it is body colored like their SEMA version.

I like the low mount look much better, but don't want to hinder the benefits of adding the snorkel by going for that look. I rarely ever do deep water crossings, so this is really for the cooler air and dust reduction in my case. Will the low mount snorkel provide similar benefits in cooler air as well as reducing dust getting into the air filter?
Will this snorkel fit on a 2021 Jeep gladiator Mojave??
Is there any risk of engine hydrolocking or water getting into the engine with this snorkel? High profile one is what I am interested in.
Hello, I have KC lights with brackets they came with on the cowl. Would I be able to still have a KC light on that side and be same level as the driver side with this product?

Would you guys mind running this on the dyno to show what if any effect it has on air flow and power?
I too would like to see that as I want my exhaust tuned into the good kind of air flow for lack of better mechanical terms. Basically, can one achieve spunkyier with this snorkel and other air related components?
no one would, this is a gimmick for performance, this is not a proper CAI and even proper one is almost undetectable performance gain on the dyno... it is all in your head 🙂, I am assuming loss of aerodynamics with that square pipe on your windshield would negate any possible gain. the best part of this setup is that you can install the high snorkel only when you are going to be in a situation where it is needed.
How does it effect the car when washing your car and heavy rain? will it drip into the air-intake?
What blocks the side port when attaching the full height snorkel?
That part they took off blocks it. It looks like a side vent, but it is solid, I believe.
Can this be used with aftermarket air boxes that have similar placement/build to the stock box.

For right hand drive variants - such as Gladiators in the Australian market. Is it true that modification is required due to components in the engine bay being in different positions and fowling in the snorkel??

I have a question if this is a snorkel how can you go through deep water if there is a screen vent on the side wont water get sucked in there.

I prefer when things look symmetrical .. do you think you can make a bracket to add small offroad light at the base and do a similar base for the other side (without the chimney) that would accept the light for the other side?
In other words, both side will have the same base, passenger side brings cold air to the air filter.. that side will have a spot light at the base. For the driver side, same base with a spot light, and the air will just cool the engine bay.
I also prefer a color match snorkel. In a slim shape.. the only thing that bugs me is that the snorkel start rectangular then become cylinder for a coupe of inches and the rectangle again.

Are the temperature readings the same in the lower configuration? I picture they wouldn't be as cool as the high configuration because of the angle.

I believe a touch less would be ok, but a rag slapper will rip it right off

Is it absolutely necessary to take out the ambient air tube? Seems like its an unnecessary step.
Never mind, I just installed the kit. The ambient air tube must come out or it will interfere with the Drain valve.

I have one on my JK, it's not holding up to the florida sun well, it's developing cracks on the base.

The high snorkel is higher than the low snorkel.
Can you still drop the windshield with the cowl/lower intake?
Yes! With only the cowl intake installed you can still lower the windshield.
Hey do you know if the windshield can still fold with the low mount?
There appears to be plenty of clearance to drop the windshield once you remove the high snorkel and leave the low one in place. I had the same question in my head when I looked at this part on the website.

@@bamslife2812 went with the ARB snorkel. A little bit of an eye sore for some but I prefer it. Only item I don’t like is that I had to drill/attach it tot he windshield frame.

I don't think it does. The air breather is on drivers side on the diesel engine .

How do you acces to the drain valve?
Turn your wheel outwards and pull your fender back a bit. Reach in and turn the knob.

Looks really cheap. Not interested
… but all Jeep’s electrical are already waterproof dude. You can literally hide the inside of a wrangler with a water hose, no problem. And they didn’t make water crossing flaws with vents or filters with a stock rubicon. The manual tells you how deep. If you add a lift and tires, add that many inches extra to it, not rocket science.
SNORKELS, are NOT used for water crossings. They are used for “DUST CONTROL”. Matter of fact, I would buy a cycling ore filter and adapt to any of these and use either a short pipe or even check into fabricating a Particle Separator on one.
The low profile version of this snorkel kit would be officiant unless you are that Drunk’n Idiot Guy at the bash/party
