Thank you! Great install video! I think that we are going to with this snorkel on our Jeep. I saw that you later switched it out, but we don't have the light bar, so I'm hoping we won't have problems.
round here... if it is a big diesel "rollin coal" (often with 37" tires on 20" wheels)... it is a mall crawler poser... if it is a jeep or toyota (or land rover as I have seen a disco2 around a couple times) with a snorkel, the vehicle has been covered in dirt
I was wondering about that snorkel. I just hate the OEM airbox. I actually went the opposite direction and upgraded it to an enclosed cold air intake. Lol. I don’t really do any deep water crossings though.
Have you looked into the deck drew system that fits into your bed? I think its an awesome system. The only thing is I don't think you'd be able to put a fridge on the back
Yes and I really like them. However I don't want my fridge that high. What I want is for a company to make a half bed drawer system but I can't find one.
I just got an 85 suburban from city auction for overlanding. Current plan is to do my own homemade snorkel when we get to that point. Right now it doesn't run haha
Nice. I’m in the same situation with my ‘88 Suburban. Planning on to add a snorkel on mine as well but am thinking about going with a Safari snorkel. They don’t make snorkels for squarebody chevy’s but can modify a snorkel for a Toyota FJ60 or FJ80 series LandCruiser with a heat gun and it’ll fit nicely. That’s what a friend of mine done with his ‘88 Suburban and turned it into a replica of the suburban from the movie Dante’s Peak.
@@arkansasrailproductions5507 mine is the same color as the one from Dante's peak. I've seen videos of people modifying the Toyota snorkel with a heat gun, but I think I'd like aesthetic of a handmade stainless steel one. I got really lucky with the auction. Came with two full size spare tires, an Edelbrock street dominator carb, kicker sound system, 4in. lift, and new front seats. Gotta get the engine going again and replace the ignition cylinder, but we only paid $750. Got an absolute steal.
Yeah that gap isn't right. The first install I saw was last year on Wayalife and his was much tighter to the body. No one can accuse you of being a "Mall Crawler". You definitely need a snorkel. If you raise any other parts up higher like the (Breather Tubes) for the axels, I hope you show some spots to place them.
That's the style I wanted because the one that runs outside, you have to cut the hood, plus this looks way cleaner but I have a Mojave and the section wear it goes up the window is 1inch longer because of the scoop hood. And they won't be the same on the 392 because the air intake is on the Drivers side.
I like my RR Snorkel/cold air inlet so far, I've had it about 9 months. I like the fact that I can run the full snorkel or cowl inlet, use stock air filter, and no cutting of the hood. You mounted just the cowl cold air inlet, and snorkel looks more like a regular snorkel. I have a JLUR and the cowl piece fits much better than yours. maybe because of a slight style change on JT? Also you can rotate the worm clamps around so the worm drive part is on the bottom, then you will not get hooked up on them when doing other things in the engine compartment. Also, DON'T tighten those worm clamps too tight as they will deform the plastic connectors. I tightened mine a little too much and had to use a heat gun to reshape the plastic pieces.
That was so much easier than the JK but I didn't like the fit on the JK at all and looks like the designer folks failed on the fit of the JT and these are not cheap and it looks cheap IMO. I am so glad to see some upgrades on the JT we owe a few more months on our JK then we can set our sights on the Gladiator. Keep up the great work.
Another great video! But I think it might be time to invest in some mics. It was hard to hear over the rain and/or fan while you were away from the camera. Other than that, love it all!
Matt, Personally I don’t like the snorkel set up where you have to bridge your battery with two rubber collars to get it to function. Looks like a mod destined to come back and haunt you. That is just my opinion mind you, I hope it is a long term solution for your build. I am a recent subscriber and I sincerely enjoy your channel…..
Posers drive Jeeps with 2” spacers and 19” or bigger rims with accessories that have no purpose and are an insult to the Jeep community. Asked a guy the other day how he was supposed to air down his tires and he looked at me like I was talking another language.

If you don't have a light bar you won't have any issues.
I don’t see you sticking with that thing. ARB here you come 😀
You may be right. LOL

That hidden piece you have to take off under the grill is a real treat too. Been there haha.
the OEM air intake is in suck a dumb location. Where we wheel a snorkel is almost a requirement.
Can't wait to see the video on the lift, looks really nice.
That video will come out next week.

About time you post a vid! We need daily updates and content!
I'm trying. LOL
Let me know when you get to Storage!
Still working on that.
If I did that I would have lots of extra parts? And the first time it rain I would drowned out!
LOL! Nah it's not hard at all.
Looks good

I'll definitely show that.

Doesn't look right however think it's made that way for clearance for folding window down?
Beautiful!

We are good on tires now. We will be there Saturday.
Awesome hopefully see you out there.. Can't miss me in the Punkn Gladiator.. lol
Yeah, rugged ridge looks subpar and cheap. Go with ARB and be done.
Nah that gap is awful. Return that and look at something that has better fit and finish

😂😂😂I know those types.
Still doesn't look right...in my opinion anyway.
More updates on the snorkel saga coming.... lol
