I just bought( 04/18/24) a Widebody Scat Pack that had an MSRP of $62,925 and an original dealer mark up price 7 months ago of $77,810 for $45,982. With no add ons other than $995 dealer fee tax and title. Out the door price was $51,366.05. Arrigo Dodge in WPF, Florida.
I tried to buy a challenger scat pack last night at a dealership advertising them for 34k. Not a surprise they would not honor that price. Original sticker was 57 and they did come down to 43 but then added back a 3400 add on packages and 2500 in dealer fees. With tax putting it out the door around low 50’s. I did not take the deal has they were totally dishonest in their advertising.
On autotrader right now: new 2023 Challenger R/T with the 5.7 and 6 speed is listed at $26,915. That's a $19k discount, but it seems like these big discounts are very common on new Challengers right now. A scat pack with the 6.4 and 6 speed is listed at $36,855 that's $15k below MSRP.

At this point May of 24, there are about 6-7K in incentives from the manufacturer. The problem is most dealers will not offer a further discount as they hope the buyer likes the manufacturer's discount enough to buy. As such, since the manufacturer discount does not come out of the dealer's pocket, they are basically selling the car for MSRP, and the manufacturer is picking up the cost of the discount. So many dealers will not offer a deal on top of the rebates as they prefer to inventory the vehicle and hope for the right fish to bite the hook. I have looked at several R/T's, and the dealers always say it's already discounted (rebates) and won't move off the MSRP minus the rebate....much more profit that way. Shopping for a Challenger these days is like visiting a Harley dealership....LOL.
I got my 2018 T/A Scat-pack 2 years ago for around 50k. In 2 years i put 10k miles on it and now it's estimated at 29k resale. The resale value is garbage. I'm keeping the car but it was such a shock to see how drastically it fell in value.
Shocked? Nobody told you to pay overpriced. Those vehicles were worth 39.890.00 for a brand new basic scat pack. When they jumped overboard to 55-65~ I simply said to myself they can go ahead and collect them I will keep my money. Then gas jumped and so did insurance looks like they finally got a reality check. Another reason is how easy they are stolen. Cheap made garbage sold as gold ~ no thanks.
50k for a 4 year old car? That's more than my Scat cost new.
@@garybishop4030 That's misleading because every 392 i'm currently looking at in 100 mile radius is not going for anything less than 55k. The most is currently around 68k for a 2023.
That's new, you said yours was 4 years old.

If I may, respectfully, some people just like these cars, although they may take into consideration the information you give, many don't buy these cars worrying about residual value nor what it would be worth to somebody else. It's for love of the muscle car & old Americana, I'm 57, this car has another meaning for me, I'm NEVER getting rid of mine! 2023 Challenger SP/WB, MSRP was 62k got it for 55,580k loaded, plus Tax, tags & title, worked for me.......oh yea, doc fees, A wk ago, I'm good though & happy with my purchase! How does that $2000 work if you don't finance? Is that the only discount for a cash purchase?

There is no 2025. Dodge is switching to a 2-door Charger to replace the Challenger.

@@julianestrada3277 Scat's are now going for less than $40k buddy. Seen one for as low as $33k. But it was bare basics. Cloth seats. Auto Trans. Basic Radio. But yeah... a 392 for $33k. I saw it.
@@naturallawman2965 I bought a Scat Plus for $46,488 out the door in March at Arrigo. They will make deals. Some dealers in Florida still won't. It had a $56,220 MSRP. It had a laminated price sticker that was marked up to 64K from a while ago. I think the car was built in June or July of 2023, so It was likely on the lot for a while. It seemed to have a lower base price and cheaper option prices than the cars build later in 23. It may be beneficial to find a Scat that was built a while ago.
you made a big mistake. You forgot to factor in inflation! The buying power of dollar keeps on going down.

I sell classic cars and modern cars small dealer owner/collector car restorer Chrysler only,Mopar or no car! Mainly 60's-70's B body but also C,E and a few A bodies..
I am buying a few new HEMI Mopars as they wont make them anymore so I am in my early 50's and if they last me 15 years as daily drivers I am happy with that as I still have a 2006 Magnum SRt with 150,000 miles that runs/drives perfect..So no doubt the new ones will run like that..Hell my 69 and 70 Charger run even better,100% reliable!

That's Arrigo Dodge in Sawgrass. They'll try to add on their Arrigo package for $2,999. I got the Arrigo in West Palm Beach to wave it on my Widebody Scat Pack and bought the car for 17k off MSRP.
Dodge sold 9700 Challengers first quarter 2024... so now they have 19000-9700 = 9300 units in stock !! They could sell them all by July.
If you do buy one of these money pits now, then it’s on you. The second it’s driven off the lot after a sale, the value drops like a rock and it’s negative equity here we come.
There's nothing new about that. The problem over the last few years is that people bought these cars thinking they were going to go up in value like muscle cars from 50yrs ago. If you bought it for that reason, that is your mistake. The motive should be to buy it, drive it and enjoy it. Unless you can be around 50yrs from now and gamble that it's going to go up in value, good luck with that.
They sell for more than 28,000 but only 22,000 value. I got to the point of never buying anything overpriced. These vehicles are not a must have. To all who think they are go ahead they have thousands of them to choose from.
