Such a historical gun. The 1911 will exist in the market 'til the end of time.
At least as an antique. I imagine some time in the future we will have pistol sized rail guns etc.
Fako, check out his video with Matt from Demolition Ranch and see his reaction to what he brought him, its priceless
@@ricktaylor3748 it fulfills both perfectly.
@@0x0404 That would be amazing and I wouldn't doubt it may happen but I would consider it similar to the launch of the first hot air balloon in France over 200 years ago to Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier. To have a battery small enough to be effective in a pistol and have enough energy it may only be a novelty. It would be soooooo cool.
@Rick Taylor They make lots of 10mm 1911s.
I'm blessed to have obtained two Nighthawk 1911's, a Talon and a T3 Stainless, and they are truly some of the finest pistols I've ever used.
45ACP is just a nice big chunk of slow moving but energetic lead. Love it.
Watching those rounds on the gong was pretty cool, never would have thought they'd start dropping at that distance.
45 is a pretty heavy round
Has more to do with velocity than weight
Fat and relatively slow rounds
Regardless of weight or velocity they are dropping at the same rate that a bullet dropped out of your hand would drop. Edit: I think... unless there is some "lifting body" effect, but then if that was the case... wouldn't bullets sail away toward the sky when you were aiming dead on at 50 yards?
gwarkan yes, but the distance away from you that the bullet would be when dropping a specific height is different depending on velocity, so his statement is still valid.
I could almost feel how smooth the slide was from the sound alone... excellent build quality is easy to appreciate...
your accuracy is insane!!!sir.
It's skill + a quality side arm. You should see his deringer videos, at some point, the fire arm is the limiting factor.
U don’t call him dude, u call him Sir
@@El_CerebroYT Lord Hickok45, followed by a bow!
I know I couldn't even imagine him in like his 20s and 30s lmao
Now imagine him playing call of duty or something
I love when you shoot 45 calibers at the gong and the camera zooms in and you can see the bullet drop as it hits the gong.
Legend has it that Hickok has shot every gun known to man.
Tripleblade 82 lol
FPSRUSSIA: Hold my Vodka
Thank you John for amazing camera work! I have to admit that because of you these videos are absolutely top quality.
Just got my first 1911. Not sure I can ever shoot anything else, it shoots that good!
Same, once I bought my 1911 everything else got put into the safe.
I love my 1911 and trust it to protect my life.
The beginning of the end. Everything else is for fun.
@Nick Heard good things about SIG, all online though, haven't shot one myself or personally know anyone who owns one.
I have a Colt CCU, would recommend it. Its accurate about 1.5k rounds through it FMJ, hollowpoints, reloads, gun just works, best pistol I own.
Do your research though, some 1911 (cough, Kimber) are notoriously finickyand unreliable.
@Graham Stewart Is it still the service pistol for any of the US armed forces?
@Nick most reliable 1911 I've ever shot is a sig TACOPS
Funny how "just one more mag" magically turns into 5 or 6....😄 Life is good. 👍
Yes. I got a kick out of that too. :)
John Browning.... what a Great Great Great gun designer!!!! Need I say more!?!?!?!
Got to shoot a Nighthawk GRP once, range nearby had one as a rental. Amazing shooting handgun, afterwards I really understood why people spend the money on these.
Damn!!! You could actually rent one!!!
Man there's nothing like seen Hickok shooting a beautiful 1911 with those .45 hammering the Gong, it's fluent motion in acquiring the targets it's impressive
Wow, good camera work. You can literally see the bullet flying. 4:05
H.B. J makes me wonder how effective the shots would be at such a range if you can see the bullet.
@@JasonMcColm Well, it's a .45... There's a reason why .45 hollow points are called "flying ashtrays"... !
@@JasonMcColm In part this is an artifact of a long zoom lens -- not my area of expertise but best I can explain it, you are seeing a long stretch of flight compressed into what looks like a short distance.
tl dr will still kill ya
Jason McColm I’m sure it would still hurt! lol
The 1911 will always be my favorite pistol
Something about shooting .45 ACP makes me happy. A nice 1911 is a treat.
I’d love to see a video on your gun cleaning techniques. Maybe a “Tips & Tricks” video. I’m always interested in how different shooters clean their weapons!
I'm lucky to own a lower end 1911 and when I grow up I would love a Nighthawk. They are just a tad out of my price range right now but they make beautiful firearms.
4:01 Thats incredible never been able to see the bullets that clearly in hickocks videos before and wow didnt realise .45 drops so quickly, i dont know myself but id hazard a guess the distance from him to the gong is further than it seems.
Yeah man its a fat bullet packs a punch not much of a penetration
If zombies occupy this world, he will survive unconditionally. I assure you.
He wont. He is too old.
Target practice
I dont think Zombies will survive in America. Too many of us are packing.
For sure
Maybe, it's not all about firing guns, a lot of zombie survival is about being able to think on your feet, ingenuity, being cautious but taking calculated risks, hand to hand combat training, knife disarms techniques, cardiovascular fitness, physical strength, mental fortitude, charisma, daescalating situations and being a natural born leader. Firearms training should come after that.
I own a nighthawk as well and it is my most accurate handgun. The people at nighthawk are amazing to work with when ordering and customer service is terrific.
The zoom-in and seeing the round travel is awesome, love to see more of it tbh.
one of the best looking handgun ever.
Well it's no hi-point but it looks alright, I guess
Looks better with vertical slide serrations. Series 70 Colt in blue is the best looking 1911A1.
Glock is the best looking handgun to ever be produced
It’s okay, I’ve nvr rly been a fan of the 1911 look but I’ve carried so many of them it’s just like another glock, once you’ve seen and shot one of them, you’ve basically shot them all
JustCruzinn lol smith & wesson M&P’s look better then glock, and I’m not a smith fanboy either, I actually carry a G19x, I’ve found that the glock gen 5 variants (G19x,G45,G17,G19) are the best shooting 9mms out there
When you where talking about the initials under the grip, my first thought was a line from episode three
of Magnum P.I season 1 when T.C. had said “Don’t be no hero Magnum, use the .45.”
Hickok45 saying “come here and take a look” just warms my heart
As soon as Covid is over and done with and I can get my old job back I'm getting one of these, I've been thinking about these for months
A Forerunner sorry to say covid is here to stay as long the powers that be can use it to limit our freedoms. Unless we freedom loving Americans get more active this will be the new norm.
Hopefully you're back in that job very soon. We're all ready for things to get back to normal. Whenever you're ready to pick up a Nighthawk, give us a call and we'll get you set up.
Also keep in mind the Dan Wesson 1911 (Semi Custom) Extremely Well Made, and a Great Great 1911 for a bit less than the full Custom pistols. Hickok 45 really likes the Dan Wesson and has done I think two Videos on them.
Anyone get the Mr. Rodgers of guns feel lol I love this dude
Bob Ross of guns*
I've had two Nighthawks. I had the Dominator and the Vickers model. I've been shooting various guns for some 40 years. Those Nighthawks were the finest guns I ever owned. I knew they were super special from the first time I dropped the slide. It just spoke to me the way it locked up.
Still have them? If not..... why?
Me: “ Just 1 more video “
Hickok: “ Just 1 more mag “
There’s a bucket list pistol for me.
I know that guy TA. I served with him in the Marine Corps. Great dude.
The bit about using the dremmel tool on the bushing nearly made me spit my coffee out cos it was so funny and Hickok45's deadpan delivery was just perfect, lol.
My EDC is a nighthawk custom my favorite pistol
What model? And thanks for choosing us!
Sure hope you never need to use it... Cops will confiscate for a good while even if you are 100% justified. From where i sit carry gun should be semi disposable...
@@sreyemhtes Don't even care. If the pistol has to be used to save mine or my family's life, it has done its job. Does it matter what you spent? Do you put a minimum price on something that could potentially save you EVERYTHING? This point is beaten to death.

@@sreyemhtes the reliability and the accuracy of this pistol is well worth peace of mind for me, i can always buy another one if I'm alive. But YES it would suck for the cops to take it

I've got a Les Baer, Wilson combat, and a 1961 Colt 1911 that Clark has his initials and year made stamped in the gun. The clark is the best 1911 I have. He put a flat faced trigger in it and some Wilson target sights on the gun. Its a great gun that will stand the test of time.
Great choice. 1500 rounds and I love mine. No issues with it so far. Same gun except it has a rail and a surefire light. Can't say I shoot it like hickok but it makes the user want to practice. Nighthawk offers some great leather holsters as well. They even made one to fit the light on mine.
I wish my sons would buy me a Nighthawk for Christmas, please and in 45 acp
ASK SANTA and make sure your sons hear it
0:23 Can we talk about that smooth mag release, I didn’t even realize he did it at first.
Here's a man that loves his job and he's very good at it.
Nighthawk! A very nice custom 1911. Thanks for this review. 1911’s are my favorite. Be safe out there.
Nighthawk makes damn good pistols.
I have some Nighthawk parts on one of my Colt 1911s and you can just feel how well made they are.
Thanks for the compliments Tommy!
@@NighthawkCustomFirearms crazy you guys respond but yeah, your guns are fucking awesome, and dare I say it, the best 1911s in the game.
1911 and the colt peacemaker are my favorite hand pistols of all time.. then is the Berretta pf92
Those are also my favorites pistols too
It's a beautiful gun... And one of the worst truly, Reliability not really top, Easily removed, seven fucking bullets in the magazine, 7! Really not crazy as a weapon, except for pit fired

What gorgeous gun. I bought my first 1911 3 months ago and love it. (Ruger sr1911 target) considered getting a Wilson combat 1911 after but opted for the WC protector ar pistol 11.3” in 5.56. I’ll have to look closer into Nighthawks. Sure is a looker...

nothing like some .45 ACP and an M1911. I have an A1 from WWII and I love it.

I bought a Nighthawk Bob Marvel Custom stainless five years ago and will never part with it. It is a wonderful piece with outstanding fit and finish. Flawless performance to date! Highly recommend Nighhawk.
Absolutely love my nighthawk, I only have 4 1911s and by far my favourite is the nighthawk
What model do you have?
Nighthawk Custom heinie competition, sometimes I just like to sit and stare at it haha.
@@bladen0869 Very nice! The scalloped MSH and front strap are a good look.
Nighthawk Custom it’s a beautiful piece of workmanship.
I love it when Hickok shoots the gong with a 45 😃 I enjoy watching the rounds fly through the air and smack that slab of metal!
I bought my first Wilson Combat in 2005. I struggle to try to explain how nice it shoots and feels. Surely Nighthawk being started by ex-Wilson employees, they are worth the money. I am not a 1911 snob, but the custom 1911's are just works of art. I traded in a couple of guns and a bunch of cash for it, and have no regrets.
Hitting the gong at that range while standing with a pistol, impressive shooting.
you can see 10 000 videos about 1911s but another one and you are still like "wow this is such a beautiful gun..."
I have a Springfield and RIA 1911 but the money the nighthawk commands is way more than I can afford. Sweet guns for sure..
Superb hand fitting. The edges of the slide have been gently radiused, and sharp corners nicely rounded. I like the concept of serious social work pistols, no frills, no decorative doodads, no flat topping the slide, no fluting the barrel hood, no skip line checkering. Just functional features for serious social work where there is no second place winner. The GSP is Nighthawk's version, Global Response Pistol. I had played with one at a high end gunstop, but I decided to get the Ed Brown Special Forces. Thr differences were so slight I really didn't see any distinct separations. I just felt thr EB SF was just a tiny bit smoother.
Ordered my Agent2 Nighthawk in March with all the golden trim and trigger. It took a few months to receive my 1911 45 but well worth the wait. One handgun I hope to hand down to my children. Beautifully crafted and shoots like a dream.
you shooting that furthest gong up on the hill at 75 yards you can literally see the .45 cal bullets in the air on the way to the target actually see it hit! so cool. they are so slow. compared to a. 5.56
Just imagine what that 45 could do with an 8 inch barrel. Very nice gun Hickock 45. Speaking of great craftsmanship a girl friend of mine gave me a beautiful NRA hand crafted Theodore Roosevelt pocket knife that belonged to her father. I've never seen one before, but it is beautiful craftsmanship. God bless you always my friend, and happy passover to you, and your family.
at 1600 minutes, it was pretty cool watching the projectiles fly.
My wife owns a Nighthawk Shadowhawk and I'm pretty sure that's the one of her many guns she's not ever gonna give away. It's just perfect.
I traded my GRP Recon with rail for a rare Springfield Custom 1911. Both are great but the fit and finish of the Springfield was slightly tighter and better with groups
I could listen to those sounds all day
Mr. Hickok, Thank you for your videos. I like how you have something informational and educational to talk about.
I recently purchased my first handgun, may not be a $2,000+ custom, heck it's not even a Colt. I just got me that good ol' Remington R1 .45 and I'm in love with her.
I'm more than glad I watched your videos before deciding what to get. Because I was looking at Glock 9mms. You saved me!!
To me there is something when you buy a budget gun and you start buying upgraded parts and you do all the work yourself and personalize it how you want versus buying an expensive custom and not being able to tinker with it as much since it's already all high grade parts and everything already has a smooth operation and polished out.
I have stepped on a path that I had no clue was so enjoyable.
The drop on that ammo is crazy!
Before John Wick gets his guns, it has to be approved by Hickock first
My Sig 1911 is my absolute favorite pasture carry pistol. Come to think of it, it's my favorite pistol period. Obviously not a custom, but I spent quite a lot of time fine-tuning it when I first bought it. Cheers!
this man is a human aimbot. picks up any gun with any configuration and never misses lol
I just purchased a California legal .45 NIGHTHAWK. Built by Mike Santella. Wow. It's really impressive. That's why I bought another one. Thanks Scotty Roberts for walking me through the purchase of the pistol over the phone. 🤙🏻
