This helped me, thanks. Got audio on OBS recordings from the HDMI>USB dongle .... but only in mono (or 'dual mono' in the actual recordings), as you have here. I notice that in Windows the only format available in Recording devices for the dongle is single channel 16bit /96kHz, so have to suspect that it's all the (cheap) dongle is capable of (just looked at the spec and it just says _"Support_ (sic) _audio format: LPCM",_ NB not how many channels). The three different devices I've recorded from have been set to stereo/PCM where applicable. Just FYI but worth noting - mine outputs a fixed 30 fps (pretty sure it's the same for all these cheap-ass things) and if you feed them anything at 24 fps (or 25 fps PAL) you get motion judder in the recording from the frame-rate/cadence mismatch (trying to capture at the original frame-rate in OBS just makes it worse). Basically means they're not suitable for transfers/archives from a lot of 'legacy' media such as DV cam.

Hii what if I plan on using and xbox with capture card to obs streaming labs for twitch? With an hdmi splitter. Will I be able to hear sound through my headset and still hear me and my game audio in my stream? Does anyone know? I keep googling and googling and no one asks these specific questions.
As i understand, you have the headset connected to your controller. Do you need to include party chat audio? If you do, i recommend this video for your setup ruclips.net/video/H1tzatTnq9s/видео.html I dont use an hdmi splitter, but based from what i understand, the splitter would allow you to display multiple video outputs simultaneously. That shouldnt affect your audio.. If you have your headset connected to the controller, by default, you wont hear the game audio on obs. You need to change the audio output to TV or AV amplifier. Xbox should have a similar setting like what is shown on the video. I just cant show you the exact steps as i do not have an xbox.
@@m_e_m_e_s_e_l7903 you can try connecting the wireless headset to your PC and have the audio come from OBS. the thing is, it's possible to have delay if you're streaming or recording

Hey man, how have you been? What I'm using is just a TRS cable. You just need to split the audio into two parts. If you're gonna include a party chat into the mix, then that's when you'll need a TRRS cable. Here's one that i can think of.. What i noticed is the PS4 keeps reverting back to Headset when i unplug and plug the headset back to the controller. (Which is likely to happen when setting up) So you might want to check on the ps4 setting again to make sure it's on TV or AV amplifier. Because if ps4 audio output is on headset, you wont get any sound on obs
@@cantobotz thank you but I actually fixed the problem I found the solution from your how to add sounds from party chat video, but I have one question is it fine to only use one mic instead of two because I use my mic for in-game Fortnite so will my voice still capture like that?

@@justinlim9626 you need both mics. Because the mic from the headset allows to to talk to your party on the in-game chat. Then the USB mic is to include your voice on recording/stream on OBS

Or is this for people who want to capture the gameplay have the audio in video and also have in headset... or can you just put audio to obs to be able to record with audio and leave settings on ps3/4 to the tv audio? I have PS3 + OBS, video is getting Recorded but Audit is not coming, I am very much upset. Bro please make the video for PS3 with same capture card. Imma facing Sound problem on my PS3 with with capture card.
Yes, you still can. Plug the capture card straight to your pc. The difference is that you wont have a monitor/tv to show your game display. You'll have to look at OBS when you play. So expect some delay input or stuttering specially if you got a lot of things running on your PC
You can still use the mic. but you won't be able to capture it. If you want to include your game party chat, you can refer to the settings here -> ruclips.net/video/H1tzatTnq9s/видео.html
Sound coming from OBS is mono. You can also try to check the left and right output balance from your audio mixer settings in OBS. From the mixer, click on the Settings (Gear icon) > Advance audio properties. there's a slider that you could adjust. hope that helps
You need a mic added to your source in obs. is the mic connected to your controller just like in this setup? i have another video that somewhat covers this but it is mainly to include party chat in your stream or recording. i hope this helps ruclips.net/video/H1tzatTnq9s/видео.html

how do i get audio sounds from the capturecard itself tho (ie. whilst playing on laptop camera it has no sounds) note: i have no intention on adding more peripherals another note: i got the same capture card as on the video and set it up nicely but to no avail still no sounds
You can set the sounds in OBS Studio. You can use the same settings i mentioned in this video even without the peripherals. Just take note that if you plug a headset on your controller, by default you'll lose sound on your TV/Monitor

and i don't mean party chat. I mean just a mic that OBS can capture. i stream and just need a mic to talk to the chat and viewers. Don't wanna have to buy a second mic if I can avoid it.
you can. you'll have to connect your headset to your PC. that way, it will pick up the game audio from OBS. and then your mic can record for your audience to hear. i haven't done tests for this setup, so i'm not sure.. but you may want to check if there will be delay with audio when you have this setup. if there is delay, it would be hard to play games that depends on sound. like shooting games, BR games, etc.
@@cantobotz I did made it work though just now. Haha. I should have unplug the razer usb dongle. And just plug it straight to my laptop. Now I can hear my game with no latency at all and use discord
you may check if the cable you connected on your controller is a TRS cable. This is what you need. There is another cable that looks really similar but has a different function, which is the TRRS cable. TRRS splits mic and audio instead of duplicating the sound. Hope this helps
Will this method work if you wanna listen to your game audio and discord chat at the same time? I somehow got it work but the game audio capture is quite bad.. thinking of other alternatives
i have not tried recording with discord on. so i can't say for sure. since you got it to work, i guess it is possible. as for the audio, i think the output audio for OBS is mono which greatly affect game experience in some games. which is generally, the audio quality is bad
Do you have a headset connected to your controller? If in case you do, you would need to change a setting on your ps4 which is also mentioned in the video
I used this with my PS4 and the audio is in mono. Its quite hard to play fps games since you dont know where the footsteps are coming from. is there a way to switch the audio from mono to stereo using this capture card?
I agree boss. this one appears to have mono only. some say it can do stereo, but when the steps are shown, that setting only duplicates the sound to both sides. which is still different from stereo. i don't know how to change to stereo yet, but i'll update this thread when i find out more information. i play some FPS too, and its hard to spot enemies with mono audio

I did the same thing he did and it worked for me
I have that basically but it’s not 2 hdmi it’s only 1 on it so can I hook it up to stream on PS4
Yes, you still can. Plug the capture card straight to your pc. The difference is that you wont have a monitor/tv to show your game display. You'll have to look at OBS when you play. So expect some delay input or stuttering specially if you got a lot of things running on your PC
nice bro
Can you still use your microphone on your headset with this method?
You can still use the mic. but you won't be able to capture it. If you want to include your game party chat, you can refer to the settings here -> ruclips.net/video/H1tzatTnq9s/видео.html
This didn't help my situation. I'm getting video capture just fine, but the audio just won't work.
What if you have a Bluetooth usb headset?
Thanks so much bro appreciate it
Happy to know this helped buddy! have a great day. Cheers! 🍻
YOU CALLED US BOTS!
😂
Maybe , I'm doing something wrong but the audio to my ps4 come out of my desktop and not my headset.... any tips?
Is that happening when you switch the Audio output on PS4 into TV or AV amplifier?
2:31 can I just insert the male to male audio jack to the controller instead of having one extra female? srry just confused.
haven't done this setup. will try and find out if this setup works
does anyone know the reason i can only hear audio only in my right ear?
Sound coming from OBS is mono. You can also try to check the left and right output balance from your audio mixer settings in OBS. From the mixer, click on the Settings (Gear icon) > Advance audio properties. there's a slider that you could adjust. hope that helps
I did this and the Audio stop coming though my headphones
I have sound from my ps5 playing into capture card but im not getting any sound into my mic?
You need a mic added to your source in obs. is the mic connected to your controller just like in this setup?
i have another video that somewhat covers this but it is mainly to include party chat in your stream or recording. i hope this helps

@@cantobotz i have another mic to record my sound and it records the gameplay sound on my capture card, i just dont get it into my headset thru the splitter.
how do i get audio sounds from the capturecard itself tho (ie. whilst playing on laptop camera it has no sounds) note: i have no intention on adding more peripherals
another note: i got the same capture card as on the video and set it up nicely but to no avail still no sounds
You can set the sounds in OBS Studio. You can use the same settings i mentioned in this video even without the peripherals. Just take note that if you plug a headset on your controller, by default you'll lose sound on your TV/Monitor
@@cantobotz triied it... but still nothing, perhaps it has something to do with my laptop or os??

@@nickgallon2305 maybe you can try the setup here instead

I've never did none of that and my audio was working fine, now nothing. I tried those setting still nothing 🤦🏾♂️. Any more suggestions?
Try setting the audio as monitor and output. That would allow audio on both your speaker/headset and recording. Hope that helps
@@cantobotz is there a way to work around the trs cable and aux cable?
So question I have a capture card and it worked the first day I set it up with sounds but the next day when I whent back there was no sounds do I need a elgato or what ever that is to get sounds again
i think you just need to tweak some settings on OBS or your PC audio output. i wouldn't recommend getting an elgato right away unless you're gonna be using that a lot. i mean, their capture cards are expensive
Would this record exactly what I hear in my turtle beach headset (game volume and party chat?) thanks
No, not everything. If you're planning to capture the built-in party chat for PS4, here's what you'll need - ruclips.net/video/H1tzatTnq9s/видео.html
Hi,
can i use this capture card to connect set-top box (hdmi) to plasma tv (usb)?
will it supply audio to tv as well is above setup?
regards,
I havent tried this. but i think it wouldnt work because of HDCP. unless there's a way to disable or bypass that, then yeah. i think that might work
@@cantobotz
Thanks for responding,
Was searching for hdmi to USB converter but can't find any, can you point me to one you are aware?
Actually, my TV's HDMI is not responding but usb is, so wondering if can use it instead of getting the PCB replaced.
what you suggest?
Thanks in advance bro.

Thanks for responding, not sure how to bypass HDCP on tv.
Was searching for hdmi to USB converter to do the task but can find any, can you point me to one you are aware?
Actually, my Panasonic plasma TV's HDMI is not responding but usb is, so wondering if can use it instead of getting the PCB replaced.

Can you still hear/record headset mic as well with this method?
and i don't mean party chat.
I did thus but as soon as I connect the headset and aux it comes off the TV and the audio isn't coming across to OBS
hi bots!
Will this work if i use wireless headset? Im using Razer Nari Essential. It doesn’t have 3.5 jack. So I have to connect via 2.4Ghz usb dongle
This setup won't work on wireless headsets. However, it is possible to setup a wireless headset. It is a whole lot different than this tho
@@cantobotz I did made it work though just now. Haha. I should have unplug the razer usb dongle. And just plug it straight to my laptop. Now I can hear my game with no latency at all and use discord
my audio dosent work Idk why, I tried every step that you did in your video but still dosent work.
you may check if the cable you connected on your controller is a TRS cable.
@@cantobotz i see, reckon i should try streamlabs?
This still didn't work for me, I have the Audio Input Capture on Monitor and it won't produce any sound at all.
