Its better to add a separate audio input then selecting it at the bottom scale , putting in separate audio input you won't have sound delay, sound will be perfect inline with the game

@Chrispy after doing that you have to enable headphone and desk sound, on the audio toggle at bottom pallet of obs, click on it , you will get a option with audio inputs , by me its the one right at the top, audio capture enable the headphone and desk , now you will hear the audio, don't forget to disable normal audio in the panel where your wave files are or else you will get a echo in your game sound
@Chrispy yes , that's the option I told you about, its the only option where you enable both, doing so you can use your headphone and have desk top sound, if you not hearing the audio it means your sound settings in setting menu is not correct

A great tutorial for how to hear the sound on desktop! this was my biggest problem at first and it really helped, though ! now have a different problem i hope you can help with if it's not too much trouble. i can hear the sound fine, (though with a slight delay, but that's not a big deal) I'm using it to record PS3 footage, and it captures and plays back sound just fine on the PS3 home screen, as soon as i start a game or program however, the sound turns to constant static, and it only goes back to normal if i go to the home screen, but turns back to static again after starting a game. any idea what might cause this?

Thank you sir, you are doing capture card gods work. Tho, I will throw in, if people are still having issues, just make sure the external audio device is also set to USB video. For me it was defaulting to my microphone so that part got a tad bit confusing, but once I made sure it was set right no issues.

Hey, I followed all the steps, but I still get no sound in OBS. Don't know what went wrong. I connected the HDMI from the ps4 to a splitter and connected the other hdmi cable to the hdmi video capture card.
Just tried this tutorial and it worked. Thank you very much life saver :)

So I am using a dvi to hdmi adapter then connected it to the capture card (the input is a pc btw) but there is no sound coming out of the capture card audio input in obs how do I set it up?

Yo pro tip because this was happening to me. Unplug your hdmi capture card and plug it back in. It fixed my problem

I'm using a DVi to HDMI adapter as I don't have another HDMI slot,
thus I can not transfer Audio, but I am using NDI for the audio and it still doesn't pass... so, what exactly is the problem?

Well it does have a slight delay because it's a generic type of hdmi with a low cost budget

i get completely different options in the Use custom audio device: 1 desktop microphone, 2 microphone HD webcam, 3 Digital audio interface ( 2-USB digital audio)
Can you help? I’m trying to troubleshoot. My son is able to record and talk with people in RecRoom and their audio shows up on the recording. His audio from his microphone is not recording for some reason so you end up hearing only the other person’s one sided conversation. Thanks

For my capture card, I connected the card to my switch and tv. It is projected onto the tv but it wont project onto my computer. How do I connect it to the computer for it to work? Im using OBS Studios as well.

Hello there if your gonna use it in two different pc's it would probably be ok as long as you use a hdmi splitter and 2nd your pc should be in a high standard pc because it might affect the quality of the video that your recording.
My goal is to use my normal external camera as a webcam for Zoom conferences. I'm on Windows 10 and not getting audio. I don't have OBX. Should I download and install OBX to get it working for Zoom conferences?
You could try installing it because there are some applications that can be use and compatible with the device. If installing it might help you out.

Then I seen this video went through the steps and it's still not working. I just don't understand how to get the audio on the obs to stream
