as a huge boygenius fan, I was so happy to see them get this big "commercial" success. For Phoebe a lot of people knew her or some of her work, bur for Lucy and Julien I don't think that they would've strived to on their own. I agree that all of them have done better work solo wise, but I'm happy that more people get to know them and therefore listen to the ep and the solo work.
the Jon Batiste nomination on the other hand took me by surprise, he is so not on my radar.
overall another great episodes, love the podcast so much

20:06 It's really crazy how much Lana undersells herself. She mentioned in a video on her Instagram that she didn't know there was a formal process and "promotion" for submitting your album. She didn't even think the album was worth submitting 😭rooting for her solely based on this (GUTS is a close second)

Love the outfits and am glad nobody is wearing anything that was bought for them by an interview subject in a way that could have been construed as unethical

Also I would love to see Pedro Rosado get some screen time. He's definitely put in enough hours to warrant it. Give Pedro to the people.

Does anyone else get the most unexpected adverts with these Popcast videos? Last week I got a website for dating Slavic women, this week it's weed brownies for the elderly. And I swear I haven't seen these ads for any other videos I've watched on RUclips.
Also that clip of the Jon Batiste Coca-Cola video, featuring the Coca-Cola bear, was wild (10:50).

I know dance music isn’t either of your “scene,” but I would’ve loved to hear your opinions on the dance categories! Great show

My album of the year is probably still scaring the hoes by Jpegmafia and Danny Brown or unforgiven by le sserafim, song of the year for me is super shy by new jeans. I know i'm not representative for people at large but I find the grammy's every year seem to have a very different musical year than any other group. no genre category or specific category seems to have anything that fans of that category say is the best of the year. it's a mix of the most popular and probably the artist's artists who everyone knows and respects in the field, and that is sadly so uninteresting. the oscars on the other hand have a type of film and type of work they respect and gets nominated, they give nods to work that is legitimately great, it usually doesn't win but it's there, I have never seen that be the case for the grammys. and one more thing antihero is a great song and the change up to karma is a guy on the chiefs is epic and deserves the attention it got, and I can't wait for Olivia to win every major category she deserves it, great album.
