- The Strain Hunters are back! Almost 5 years after Franco tragically passed away from malaria, the Strain Hunters team set off on a new expedition, to continue Franco's legacy. Arjan returns to the home of the AmaMpondo people in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, what used to be the Transkei region. Franco spent several years working in the region with the locals and had a large influence on how the region has developed. Arjan teams up with Strain Hunters Dust, Simon and Mr.X in a new expedition where they explore remote regions of Pondo Land through the Umzimvubu river. This one is for Franco!
Tens of thousands of amampondo farmers continue to cultivate landrace cannabis along the Umzimvubu river. @SuperElske I'm not against it. I grow it myself. But I have seen a few people get irritated when they use a lot of it on a day to day basis. It's similar with alcohol, if you overuse it you can get irritated.

i think it's very interesting that arjan takes seeds from there to mix with some other genetics on the lab and he gives them some of their genetics to mix with the landraces.
it's really a symbiotic relationship plant-breeding wise
interesting for arjan to comeback and see how their genetics responds to landrace's climate

Love it you dudes are awesome for all you do!!! Just harvested a 5x5 scrog grow with the S.A. Kwazulu she was a purple pheno smokes great smells of sweet fruit with a kick very energizing strain for mornings this was my 1st landrace it was a hit.

I think it's great what you guys do keeping our land races pure and surviving. Meeting those people changed their lives and yours. Now they have better growing techniques and strategies. Plus trading seeds for seeds is a great way of helping them learn to grow different plants, great job guys and RIP franco, you were the best preservationist of our cannabis

@Brian Parent i dont get free collage or no taxes, my family are texas ApachE government says we dont exist. Our people where hunted down and killed. Mt great great grandmother survived the McKenzie raid. Her and her family hid in Texas as Mexicans to not be killed so no its not how you think.

Also, I love growing landrace herb. Last year I harvested some very beautiful purple landrace flower. And that was probably some of the best herb I'd ever had. It was strong but also very smooth.

This was truly an eye-opener, and by your own examination, I could almost sense what you were smelling as you described it from each of your perspectives. Great plants and beautiful country and people. However, next time, take a fishing pole because I'm sure the fishing would've been phenomenal as well. Haha

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of growing Strain Hunters, White Strawberry Skunk. It was my top 3 favorite grows, and top 3 favorite smokes!! Such a beautiful product. Wish I could find some more beans here in the PNW usa.

Man thank you guys for mentioning the carrot smell I've been saying that for years first place I've ever smelt that smell was in Jamaica in 92 when I moved there with my dad what an amazing experience I got to have as a teenager being from Indiana 14 years old and growing up in the jungle with my dad VICTOR it was awesome I rarely came back to Indiana until 1998 or 1999 best experience a 14 year old punk from the suburbs of Chicago awesome but my dad's bregins would take me to there giant grows up in the mountains and jungles of Jamaica wow the carrot 🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕 smells on some of the fresh sativa's

Would love to see them release these seeds as like a theme pack. 5 seeds of 5 different phenos of a regions landrace strains. Percentage of proceeds go to the Greenhouse Foundation.
Dream- a greenhouse with a giant world map on the floor growing all the landrace strains on their respective locations on the map. Like a museum version of this docuseries.
