California leads the way in stupid as usual. I suggest EVERYONE begin growing their own! How can the State dictate to the People what the People want to do!?! The greatest medicinal plant is illegal!?! Let that sink in people. Disobey!
As someone who lives in a state that still enforces cannabis prohibition. I want to thank all of those black market growers all across the USA for providing us with high quality cannabis.
You're allowed to grow your own but not sell it. The government doesn't get their tax out of you if you sell it and that's why they're going after people that sell. Such a shame
Because the state will take the product and sell it to a legal dispensary and rake in the profits. They'll wait till it's almost time to harvest before making the bust, so they don't have to grow it themselves. That's why those counties will hold it illegal to grow. They're also some of the most corrupted counties in the nation.
@@robrose4971 We are allegedly in the middle of the greatest pandemic of our lives, where the population is supposedly dropping like flies, our emergency systems (hospitals, ICUs, paramedics, etc.) are stretched to their breaking points, yet our authorities have found the time and resources to chase plant growers under the guise of "It's harming the environment."
because alot of those illegal grows fund criminals, sex trafficking, other drugs and forced labor from illegal immigrants who live in harsh conditions.
the 500$ fine is just a side product they do it because they seize the plants wich means the organized crime groups miss out on millions of $. Not that hard to understand you would think.
I've got a growing resentment towards the government and the people of China who benefit from and contribute to the manufacturing and distribution of narcotics to America. I want to see a vice documentary of someone following the process of raw precursors to production to sale of narcotics from Chinese companies to the America's.
It’s hard to get over the fact that they’re going after smaller growers but its okay to grow as a larger corporation. Legalization of weed is a monopoly.
that is why they havent fully federally legalized it, they wanna make sure the average small business cant afford to run a marijuana business first so only the rich will profit. And they wonder why drugs won the war on drugs. f*ck all the old clueless people we have running this country, the only good thing about covid is all these old racist people from backwards hillbilly times running our country are more likely to be replaced by younger more intelligent people.
One is tested and 100% will have no added chemicals and one is grown in the middle of nowhere getting illegal water delivered.. you tell me which one you'd rather buy lol.
@@CodyHouck that comment right there tells me you have absolutely no personal experience in the bullshit cannabis industry and “testing”in California. After spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to convert Long term prop 215 medical/Collective operation to a recreational prop 64 compliant company we were met with nothing but roadblocks and then what turned in to be a full-blown raid with absolutely nothing but registered cannabis we were robbed for thousands of dollars hundreds of thousands of dollars in product that we were paying taxes on. Keep in mind nobody was arrested nor were we charged with any crime or even given a fine they just robbed us left us broke and moved onto the next victim. As far as your testing you might wanna do a little more research because those labs are all just as crooked as the council members who approve business licenses and permits. You have no idea how many of those no chemical grown cannabis products you’re buying are 100% not pass the test you slide a little money in the right direction and it all passes.
As long as slavery exists. Legal businesses will never be able to compete. Do your research, look up marijuana slave farms. Smiling and getting high at the expense of a slave. Then liberals want my anger as a black man to be directed at their conservative fathers for spilling their own blood to break my ancestors chains and teach them how to slap away the hands of the deceitful and lecherous white liberals. Do you want to know the truth? Look up child soldiers, ah ah ah, such dark taste this life has, even better yet, you're paying your enemies to get you high so they can steal a future from you in the long run. Their minds are staying sharp in the darkness and so does their hatred. The Latinos are the new Arabs and the prize? degeneracy. The hatred is so high they're even lacing up marijuana with Fentanyl. That's both the Chinese and Latin marxists spitting in your face. Long term goals traded for short term goals.
Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression, anxiety and illicit pill addiction. Imagine carrying heavy chains for over a decade and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. Believe it or not in a couple years they'll be all over for treatment of mental health related issues.
Please does anyone know where I can get them? I put so much on my plate and it really affects my stress and anxiety levels, I would love to try shrooms
It’s almost like if you make ridiculous barriers of entry to enter the business then it becomes easier to be a criminal. They pretty much took prohibition and handed the reigns to big business.
Yeh, the stupid wack-a-mole approach just like the main drug war will never work. Take away the insane discouragement taxes on weed as if it were cigs, take away the THC limit, let people grow if they wanna grow and let weed be as legal as beer.
why don't you ask for the government to make it easier to make money as a banker so more people could benefit?? business are rarely easy and come with lots of risks. the best, most capable, more well connected and wealthier will always do better. sad but true
Not legal... they just changed a couple things so rich white men can make more money. When they want they go bust whomever isn't in the crew on a federal level. For profit prisons, police, ICE, etc... the game is rigged.
That's why decriminalization is the key, not legalization. Legalization means there is always some barrier to access, which in turn encourages underground markets. Similar things can be said of sex work.
Very true, I don't tell people what they can and can't do so I'm not gonna have my life determined by rules made by another human. I hurt no one with what I do
@@HondAcura111 some weedsheads be acting like junkies though always broke cause they rather get high than buy food for the kids and themselves. Then they be broke and wanna smoke the higher class weed
You missed the forest for the trees, high quality cannabis grows so easily that it could sell lbs for the price of an oz if the goverment is out of the picture.
If you think it’s bad seizing this you’re part of the problem. I’ve had neighbors threatened with guns we’ve had illegal dumping we got criminals all over our neighborhood right now cartels.
I'm a legal grower in CA. Grew illegally for many years exactly like Doc, and made the switch in '17. The system is absolutely fucked. ~70% tax rate (seed to sale), exorbitant licensing fees, land use requirements, unfair competition from the black market, etc etc. We've consistently harvested larger and larger canopies every season, and every year it gets harder to make ends meet. The annual black market flood came early this year and we literally had to shut down operations 2 months ahead of schedule and let 1000s of pounds rot in the field because we couldn't sell anything. Hard to compete with 400$ lbs when your cost of production isn't too far off from that...
Really just depends how greedy the lawmakers are in a state. In Oregon, prices are lower than I've ever seen. Period. No illegal grower could compete. I literally bought a half OZ for 17$ from the dispensary the other day, and it was fire 😁
@@Lugtastic yeah Oregon is weed heaven lol. I still get blown away by some of the deals I get. I can get half Oz's for 25-30 on the regular, and sometimes I get even better than that. It's most because the state didn't cap the number of growers. Anyone can start a cannabis company and the permits are cheap. That means there's a ton of supply. Works out well for the consumer 😁
Maybe they shouldn’t tax legal cannabis at some outrageous 30-40%. It was easy to see that the black market wasn’t going anywhere when you see government trying to tax the hell out of legit businesses.
thats just at the shop.. we have another 25% on gross from the grow to the shop, plus renewal fees from 12 different directions at 20k/yr.. taxes in cali or colorado are truly 70% of gross.. not on profit like the rest of the country.
So basicly they structured the system to benefit corporations, but because the black market was so well established, the system is failing. Am I getting this right?
Actually, many of these grows are not established black market grows. Many are new. Eastern Europeans, Asians, North, Central and South American. Oh yeah, Americans and Canadians too. They aren't at all like the hippies of old. They are criminal enterprises taking advantage of a system, that is taking advantage of all of us. Federal legislation would be wise to legalize cannabis. Or this cluster screw will just grow and grow.
@@lauracornwell9129 Federal Legalization would be nice, but you are kidding yourself if you think it will reduce taxes as they will want a cut of the pie and enforce illegal growing operations harshly. I'd imagine it would mirror the alcohol industry with excise taxes and permitting.
@@austinblackburn8095 I feel that the best way around excessive taxation of cannabis, on both the Federal and State level, will be allowing individuals to grow there own. I really wasn't addressing taxation. It is after all an easy plant to grow. Not sure how you felt my comment was addressing the taxation issues. I can't access medical in my state, so I'm paying through the nose for edibles I use for medication. Hopefully, States will allow individuals to grow what they need. Like laws Virginia passed recently.
@@keemrichhh4513 Where are "they" not? Perhaps amphetamines, Ritalin and opioids would've been a clearer statement. I have 2 high school age sisters, one on adhd meds and one on antidepressants... They're 15.
@@jimmyjones5880 your talking about organized crime from the cartels. If California was worried about organized crime, they would start by enforcing border laws and illegal immigration. The only reason why there targeting these illegal grows is because the state isn’t getting taxes from it not because of organized crime.
@@REDWOOD-ROOTZ710 Exactly!!! First Amendment Auditors may be annoying but they got a constitutionally protected right to record anybody in public especially our public servants. People don’t realize that anyone in this country can be press, even more so today because we all have phones with cameras and access to media outlets like RUclips, FB, etc.. to post it on.
As soon as it was legalized it was clear that homie in the hood could never go legitimate because of the high costs associated with the licensing and everything. It’s legal but the stigma is so heavy still.
Yeah, that's kinda the whole point( the legalization effort was sold as this liberating justice reform, but it's really just to open markets to those who already have capital and want to make more).
@@zenaidaaguirre7262 i know but what i was trying to say i can still get 3.5 for anywhere between 20-50 from a dispensary with taxes included so i may not get the business side of taxes but on the consumer side for me it doesn’t effect me.
As a former Californian, the golden era was medical use from mid 00s up to when it was legalized (government controlled). Once Uncle Sam took his slice, prices have never gone back down. I'm proud to say I never voted for government control.
The true answer is to just leave it at sales tax. Think how messed up it is that tobacco and alcohol are able to put poison on shelves and are not required at ALL to list the ingredients on their products. But legal weed needs to undergo strict testing and is taxed at more than twice the rate.
See there is the problem. ALL DRUGS ARE POISON. Even weed. But because us idiots want poison, the government will eventually make it legal. I say make it all illegal but legally controlled. Cigarettes, weed, alcohol all of them. Then you'll see how expensive these drugs will be. 😁🥺😉🤫
These dispensary owners want to own numerous amounts of stores and expect each of them to make a lot of money by selling over priced products that sometimes get you high. It's a dam shame that the people who fought for the right to grow are the ones that still have to hide and grow.
The guy cries about losing money at one store while in "expand mode" then proceeds to rat out other grows that are selling some product on the black market. Absolute shame.
But, What did you honestly think it was going to happened under capitalism, those who have the money pay the lobbyist to past legislation and if you have weed overflowing from the black market they couldnt start such businesses and they couldnt pay all those taxes to the corrupt governments.
What’s sad is the law enforcement officers who actually feel ok going out to do this Leave people and their weed alone Legal weed is WAAYYYYYYY too expensive
My take away is that the California system can only favor serious big money investors because they can survive better in a low net profit business environment. Cuts out the smaller growers just fine. Besides, most small operators don't have the ability to borrow serious start-up capital to have a compliant grow site and associated fees.
I've seen the prices the dispensaries charge smokers don't care about pretty packaging and overheads just want good weed at a good price legal or illegally grown.
Exactly. The place I go to was packaging weed in cheap zip lock bags for a while when they ran out of the pouches lol. Just good cheap weed without the bullshit.
"they poison the environment with toxic chemical pesticides" 🤣🤣 man, that's a good one. The average farmer in the USA uses more toxic chemical pesticides than any other individual on earth.
I mean ok so there is some truth to it. You get weed plants sprayed with, essentially, liquid spice. So people get physically dependent on the "weed" and don't want to go back to normal ass weed. Just look up the Vice documentary about the German drug dealer that wants to quit. I don't mean that EVERYONE growing illegaly does it but it is absolutely spreading.
@@aztaclalz the liquid spice is sprayed onto the already harvested plants. But consumers face the same issue with industrial produced products, marketing just plays its part. U might get some sustainable organic products delivering what they promise but it comes with a heavy price tag.
85 bucks for a 3.5!!! Sheesh I’m paying 150 for an O here in jersey. I’m a weekend smoker and the bud isn’t junk either, could never find myself paying that price
Oh no! They use pesticides and herbicides and lots of water. Oh wait just like pretty much all other agriculture. Leave them to it, legal should mean legal, not legal only to the huge companies that bribed their way in or were lucky enough to be there at the very start
What's fucked up is I've got felony cultivation charges recently and have to do time for it. Even though it's "legal" Putting people in a cage for growing plants peacefully in their own home is what's fucked up
Use jury nulification win and walk free plead not guilty and argue the trials not Faire till you have a jury by the timelocmdown hits again you won't even have to go l court lol
The purpose of the government should be to do inspections and collect taxes. They should not be pitting big corporations against farmers. Let the people make their money.
If you aren't friends with the people who make the laws, or rich enough to be friends with the people who make the laws, you cannot be the owner of a legal cannabis business in the United States.
Thats not true, even remotely lol. Maybe the shithole you're in. I'm a commercial plumber who sets up grow facilities and there's a lot of "Mom & Pop" growers out there
That's exactly how it works. I feel sorry for all the gringos worshiping their politicians and entrepreneurs, even knowing the system is not working, even knowing the average entrepreneur would slave you and your family for profits
The buzz in the house ain't no different than any of it I don't care if it's gorilla glue Luke Skywalker purple whatever you want it's all the same there's nothing like the old Santa Marta gold in the Acapulco gold
I can only imagine the cops that had to walk through the grow rooms, going back into the station, everyone staring at em like they just hung out with snoop dogg LMAO
@Flicka Flame Exactly. It's not so much an illegal marijuana issue as it is a human trafficking and associated crime issue. Out here in southern Oregon, the cartel will come to legal grow operations, threaten the growers and their families, and then will take over. All of this over a plant that the government has stigmatized to the point where people are getting killed over it.
Unfortunately there’s a lot of organized crime involved in the big blk market grows. This causes major problems to the communities and ecosystems where they set up.
The taxes on these legitimate business owners is beyond rediculous. To make ends meet or to remain competitive you have to have one foot in the legal transactions and one foot in illegal transactions.
You’re missing the point of all this, legalization has obviously just created more issues because “legalization” is just for monopolistic gain, you get cheaper weed at the underground seshes because it’s locally grown, I’ve gotten some shitty bud from the actual dispos. We need to legalize cultivation for the average man.
Me & my best friend lost millions in property because we were growing weed. Our property had noting to do with weed we had tenants they were apartment buildings. It fucked us both up for a long time I left the United States because of it. I didn't want to live in a country where everything you worked for for years can be taken by the government overnight. The cops told our tenants to stop paying us rent while we were fighting in court and still owned the buildings. My friend had to move back with his mom and live like a broke kid again. Shits messed up now it's legal in Chicago. We are just getting back on our feet legally in Colorado. People want to smoke and someone has to grow and cure it.
Lol ya california uses 200 billion gallons of water a day only from farms nut tree farms add all farms its 530 billion gallons a day add the city its 650 billion a day. I think the farms need to stop.
The police are doing far more to ruin the environment by conducting these raids with tons of people, equipment, vehicles, etc for what amounts to a misdemeanor
I helped build and direct a facility and as someone who got completely dumped by a corporation the moment I created digital SOP's they are heartless. Overhead is all they care about. The moment they have your SOP's they'll find someone who will do the work for half the rate. It happened and I trusted the wrong people for 6 years. Long live the black market and those who support us that were driven out of the opportunities we help build for these corporations. Long live the black market!
Same thing happened to me, took mine and the other master growers genetics and kicked us and most of the staff out after automating mostly everything and getting a couple of dudes who took less money to babysit
Seems like it was better off when u go to the neighborhood dealer to grab some reefer. Once these big comps stick ther slimy greedy hands in changes things up
Here is a crazy idea, how about instead of investing 99% of the polices resources into weed raids and "suspicious persons" calls. How about you allow them to do their actual job and allow them to keep the public safe instead of being the thing that actually creates danger
You're wrong. The problem is the illegal grows human traffic , hijack water and destroy the environment. Imagine having a small farm and your water supply dries up due to an illegal grow. Get back to us about the crazy idea of enforcement
@@weirdshibainu would you rather have DuPont and other corporations control the water? They are completely legal and look at the damage they have done to the environment and our health...
@@Jerahmeelli415 I'm not advocating that either. Water rights go back centuries and are vital for economic growth and food supply. Again, if you had water rights to a piece of property and someone upstream stole that from you, you'd be ok with it? Yeah...didnt think so
@@weirdshibainu I agree with both of you. We can't treat these growers as criminals, but we also can't let them run rampant with a deregulated process. CA really needs to overlook the ways it's handling of the legal weed market because I think there's a reasonable taxable and regulated middle ground that doesn't stomp out well intended growers.
Yes because that legal weed is garbage! They have all the equipment and are allowed to grow legally but grow weed that doesn't get you high! I don't get it!
@@bigwill6089i know exactly what it is. The legal, corporate weed companies harvest far too early and completely skip curing their flower. I worked with Jack Herer and his friends in Portland Oregon. His idea of legalization was to charge the same as celery or lettuce for it. You know because it is just a plant. Greed is what the real problem is here.
There are literally thousands of grow ops in my little town of 3000 people. I never buy from stores only from the farmers them selves. The government has no right in your daily life or business.
The growers in my neighborhood in the antelope Valley are cartel members there have been several murders they found two dead bears from the poisons they’re dumping the environmental impact is startling the water table is dropping they’re stealing water from people and threatening them if they don’t give them water it could be bad. Neighbor drove past one of their illegal water trucks a couple weeks ago without doing anything but passing and he showed a gun to let them know watch out. Let’s put them next-door to you and see how you feel. I have no problem with small time growers but this is out right international criminal enterprise. I’ve been smoking for 40 years.
@@drunkbuzzard3237 it seems in a small town they would be easily caught, unfortunately they are paying off local law enforcement. are they serbian mafia?
@@drunkbuzzard3237 Absolutely right. This piece missed the severe problem of cartel grows, especially on rural and public lands. Deadly illegal chemicals polluting land, watersheds, and wildlife. Growers threatening to murder passersby and public agency rangers. My general understanding is that most of this cartel weed is shipped out of California. It's a huge and dangerous problem.
As a small time home grower/seller it feels so damn good when you randomly get a call and boom $2200 in your pocket. If you put in the money and time to grow your own it will pay off on your first successful grow.
I always thought people on CA had it much easier in terms of legal weed, but this seems to be an issue that crops up when states legalize. Weed is recreationally legal in my state, but only medical patients can buy it legally. Large businesses like curaleaf, GTI/Rythm, and verano have majority of the market, and lobby against legal home grow for patients. I’m concerned that If the suppliers of these dispensaries aren’t already supplying the black/grey market they will soon, and I think there’s even less profit to be made here for dispensaries that truly care about who/where they source their bud from and want to see a safe, potent product be sold.
I live in Washington State, there is literally ounces of marijuana at my local shop (recreational) for $50. You can look it up in any of the stores in King Country, marijuana is extremely cheap here and we tax it heavily. California's taxes are so ridiculously high at every level of the market that it is making it impossible to compete with street dealers. Here in WA the only street dealers are people who live out in the middle of fucking nowhere & people who sell to children.
ROFL dispensaries that care. Been in the industry. Owners don't care where they get the weed. Stickers are just made up and the names are usually made by the staff as batches come in.
its worse than you think.. so many cops have spent their careers profiting from letting certain operators run and others for them to rob. cleaning up the marijuana system is not about getting us onto safe products, its about beating the hand of our government crooks who have lied to and robbed the american public for decades.
Seems like the sheriff is wasting his time. Sounds like a legislative problem, not an enforcement one. Need to give licenses to more small growers to drown these guys out.
These clowns try so hard to make this “all criminal.” When in facts these clowns/the system want to have a profit in any way they can. 500 for a fine?? Sounds like a waste of man power and tax payer money. Weed is love.
Agreed, but just treat it as any other crop too. Farming cannabis should not be controlled though. The government would greatly benefit from it as well. Anyone who says other wise has never smoked a joint.
I get this sentiment but then weed would be worth the same as broccoli and the gov nor farmers want that. A regulated market is actually in everyone’s best interest except the consumers who pay higher prices.
Any bussines owner that says they are losing money is lying. Nobody would keep on doing that bussines if they lose money. They just dont make as much money as they want.
This a great example of how regulation needs to pragmatically reflect market forces to be successful. In Australia continuously increasing taxes on cigarettes, to reduce smoking, worked well for a long time. But it reached a tipping point where black market tobacco started to gain significant share because it was comparatively attractive to sellers & buyers. At that point the government loses the ability to regulate the market & the tax revenue.
Yeup. And the taxes are going to keep increasing in Australia every year. Chop chop is very easy to access, and a lot, lot cheaper than legal stuff. It's similar in quality too if you find a good source...
Grow & smoke your own.2 bedrooms at home with 30 plants can be pumping 15-20 lbs every 6 weeks.Depending on your cycle & recipe. Its the siphoning of power that brings you undone.Do 3 crops a year that's 60lbs × 3000 & bobs your uncle. Then buy a house & do 2 houses.Get pinched & you lucky to do 1yr or so in jail with a yrs parole.Do that standing on your head.
These types of law enforcement officers should be fired and outright banned from getting a paycheck/retirement check. Harassing innocent civilians over a fucking plant shouldn't be a job!
Lived in LA for 4 years. I am a big pot head and I learned quick to buy from local dealers and then later was able to connect straight to farmers that give you the best bud for the cheapest (quality and quantity). store weed was never that good and always priced too high for what you get.
Moved to LA in 2018, left in 2020. Even in those two years I saw the industry completely change. When I moved there, you could buy ounces of shake for $25 out of buckets. You could smell the weed and look at it, you could buy large quanities like ounces. Two years later and it was all changed. $60 eighths, all prepackaged behind the counter, no quantities over half an ounce. Started buying street weed again. It's really not that hard to figure out the problem here
I live in Massachusetts, we recently just also got legalization across the entire state, and Ive smoked for the past couple years, and all im saying is, including myself and literally everyone I know, most people are willing to go to a dealer for it. After we received legalization, literally nothing changed. You can go to a dealer and get an eighth for 20 to 30 dollars, or go to some strange laboratory like dispensary and get the same amount of weed for 80- 100 dollars, and considering that most of these people are literally 15 to 25 years old, realistically nobody is ever going to do that, so they will just call up their dealer like any financially smart person would. What needs to change is our country has to federally incentivise using dispensaries and make them an actual viable option, therefore making dealers the obsolete and more inconvenient option, but alas, since the states feel the need to put so much taxes, their actually encouraging the use of dealers.
MA resident as well and I work in cultivation for a legal dispensary. The main concern for me buying on the black market, is that there are no regulations. There’s no testing of substances. Black market growers can use any pesticides or chemicals for growing regardless of its effects on the consumer. That’s not to say that everyone growing weed is using harmful products in their grow. It’s just that you don’t know.
This is a much bigger deal is SoCal than NorCal. Good weed is cheap and abundant up here north of Sacramento, at the dispensaries. $25 just got me a half ounce of some decent GMO Cookies, and that's after tax.
In Canada we’re seeing bootleg alcohol and tobacco operations because of the high taxes on both and the illegal cannabis market still makes up for like 50% of the total market.
These cops must feel amazing about themselves, busting people for selling a substance like a 1000 times less lethal than sugar. They should actually bust sugar peddlers.
padlock the mason halls and let them knife each other for a bottle of poisoned whiskey. except masons say "it's not us" and americans are all like okay. roll on $70 a fucking quarter.
The biggest problem at the consumer level is that the excessive cost at the grow level has made the rich guy the grower not the qualified guy. Quality has become poor & so has the experience.
Seriously. All the store weed is medium grade auto-flowers or crossed with ruderalis. Then they butchered all the classic weed name with crap called cookie glue. Wtf is that? Just give me some silver haze, or Afghan kush. Stop creating these fake ass names. Ruined the 420 culture.
Just like every other bill California passes, the state missed the mark completely. The point of making cannabis legal is to ensure the safety and integrity of the grow in a market already oversaturated with black market product, not to bottleneck the industry to tightly that it is only benefiting those in political power who get a cut of the tax revenue.
I’m so glad this video was made because reading this comment section made me glad that we’re all on the same page about legalization. Crappier and pricier weed
I love how they're talking about illegal water trucks coming in? Everything's illegal nowadays, America died a long time ago. Everybody's a slave, yet still thinks they're free...
A lot of counties, at least mine which is Kern County has chased away the legal shops. In Bakersfield there’s just a few legal dispensaries. They have made it extremely expensive and difficult to obtain a license for a shop. I live in Delano and there is not one dispensary within a 35 mile radius.
East Coaster who was just out in Southern California. Seems like 90% of the dispensaries are in LA and OC county. Not very equal distribution across a massive area, with over half a dozen counties.
Oof thats the opposite of massachusetts right now. Theyre literally popping up on every corner. Theres one at the end of a residential neighborhood near me. Its wild
That statement of his is why cops don't want it legal. Its a revenue generator . War on drugs always had been. If they are not out there then the budget just decreases
That's so sad. That man spent 5 years in one of the worst jails and now they are taxing him so much he is not making any money trying to do it legally.
Restricting who can sell it is just gonna allow the corporations who are allowed to sell it charge how ever much they want i will never touch weed because i already have bad lungs but it should be allowed to the extent alcohol is

Right on. That's what I'm saying.
Because the state will take the product and sell it to a legal dispensary and rake in the profits. In Canada you can grow up to four plants per resident.
They can't do that do many people are going to sell weed and the government wont make money
This hurt watching them cut the plants
Those black market growers are the reason why I'm able to get decent smoke. GOD BLESS THEM.
Yes because that legal weed is garbage! They have all the equipment and are allowed to grow legally but grow weed that doesn't get you high! I don't get it!
@@bigwill6089i know exactly what it is. The legal, corporate weed companies harvest far too early and completely skip curing their flower. They cut corners to produce the most amount of flower in the shortest amount of time possible. Then they wonder why the supply begins to outpace demand and their ounces start selling for 110.

The growers in my neighborhood
in the antelope Valley are cartel members there have been several murders they found two dead bears from the poisons they’re dumping the environmental impact is startling the water table is dropping they’re stealing water from people and threatening them if they don’t give them water it could be bad.
@@drunkbuzzard3237 cartel grows are completely different
How much a pound? Lol I ain't a cop
With a medical Marijuana card with an allotment of 15 plants, you are allowed 3 med cards per household. That's 45 legal plants per home.
As a small time home grower/seller it feels so damn good when you randomly get a call and boom $2200 in your pocket. If you put in the money and time to grow your own it will pay off on your first successful grow.
15k how many lbs ?

I hope you posted that with a VPN homie 😂

If my city/county/state tries to ban home grow I will move some place else.
ROFL dispensaries that care. Been in the industry. Owners don't care where they get the weed. Stickers are just made up and the names are usually made by the staff as batches come in.
The real problem lies in the Feds not declassifying cannabis.
The California govt screws up EVERYTHING it touches.
"If your crops were worth a million dollars, well then you owe the state a million dollars." Sounds like strong arm mafia tactics
Bingo!
@@smokedbeefandcheese4144 thats my point....
its worse than you think.. so many cops have spent their careers profiting from letting certain operators run and others for them to rob. cleaning up the marijuana system is not about getting us onto safe products, its about beating the hand of our government crooks who have lied to and robbed the american public for decades.
A lesson learned time and time again: No person or business is ever taxed into prosperity.
Seems like the sheriff is wasting his time. Sounds like a legislative problem, not an enforcement one.
Need to give licenses to more small growers to drown these guys out.
Sheriff definitely seemed like he’s on a power trip.
These clowns try so hard to make this “all criminal.” When in facts these clowns/the system want to have a profit in any way they can. 500 for a fine?? Sounds like a waste of man power and tax payer money. Weed is love.
Taxes and regulations should be the same as other agricultural products
Agreed, but just treat it as any other crop too. Farming cannabis should not be controlled though. The government would greatly benefit from it as well. Anyone who says other wise has never smoked a joint.
They are smoking Hemp LMFAO
@@markgriffin5537 HOW DO WE "REGULATE & TAX" GROWING HOPS FOR HOMEBREW BEER? WE DON'T
I get this sentiment but then weed would be worth the same as broccoli and the gov nor farmers want that. A regulated market is actually in everyone’s best interest except the consumers who pay higher prices.
There should be no taxes or regulations.
Any bussines owner that says they are losing money is lying. Nobody would keep on doing that bussines if they lose money. They just dont make as much money as they want.
The government wants a huge cut especially from small farmers. Trying to make room for those big pharma/corps.
Yeah, that's probably not far off.
Here I am sitting in my house in Houston Texas suffering with crohn's disease watching all that medicine being burned is killing me.
That was your only legal drug besides alcohol though bro. Guess u drinking coffee everyday till they over taxe that for your health too haha
They only lose it if they keep taxes high
Grow & smoke your own.2 bedrooms at home with 30 plants can be pumping 15-20 lbs every 6 weeks.Depending on your cycle & recipe. Its the siphoning of power that brings you undone.Do 3 crops a year that's 60lbs × 3000 & bobs your uncle. Then buy a house & do 2 houses.Get pinched & you lucky to do 1yr or so in jail with a yrs parole.Do that standing on your head.
yeah, i used to buy chinese cigarettes in USA also. 7 dollars a carton aintb ad.
Damn I need to up my game
That’s what I need a farmer.
@@dawnregister4235 if that is what you seek to no further
Moved to LA in 2018, left in 2020. Even in those two years I saw the industry completely change. When I moved there, you could buy ounces of shake for $25 out of buckets. You could smell the weed and look at it, you could buy large quanities like ounces. Two years later and it was all changed. $60 eighths, all prepackaged behind the counter, no quantities over half an ounce. Started buying street weed again. It's really not that hard to figure out the problem here
@TONY GATILLO need some smoke lmk
Exactly, there’s a dispensary in Brockton called Legal greens and it got good prices but even that with tax isn’t worth it rather go to the plug
If your smoking mids lmao
@@smoke_screen4197 mids hit well enough on a budget ngl
This is a much bigger deal is SoCal than NorCal. Good weed is cheap and abundant up here north of Sacramento, at the dispensaries. $25 just got me a half ounce of some decent GMO Cookies, and that's after tax.
You know you're getting taxed the sht out when legal business can't compete with the illegal ones.
In Canada we’re seeing bootleg alcohol and tobacco operations because of the high taxes on both and the illegal cannabis market still makes up for like 50% of the total market.

The biggest problem at the consumer level is that the excessive cost at the grow level has made the rich guy the grower not the qualified guy. Quality has become poor & so has the experience.
This guy gets it.
Seriously. All the store weed is medium grade auto-flowers or crossed with ruderalis. Then they butchered all the classic weed name with crap called cookie glue. Wtf is that? Just give me some silver haze, or Afghan kush. Stop creating these fake ass names. Ruined the 420 culture.
For sure.
