After spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to convert Long term prop 215 medical/Collective operation to a recreational prop 64 compliant company we were met with nothing but roadblocks and then what turned in to be a full-blown raid with absolutely nothing but registered cannabis we were robbed for thousands of dollars hundreds of thousands of dollars in product that we were paying taxes on. Keep in mind nobody was arrested nor were we charged with any crime or even given a fine they just robbed us left us broke and moved onto the next victim. As far as your testing you might wanna do a little more research because those labs are all just as crooked as the council members who approve business licenses and permits. Look up child soldiers, ah ah ah, such dark taste this life has, even better yet, you're paying your enemies to get you high so they can steal a future from you in the long run. Their minds are staying sharp in the darkness and so does their hatred. The Latinos are the new Arabs and the prize? degeneracy. The hatred is so high they're even lacing up marijuana with Fentanyl. I'm a legal grower in CA. Grew illegally for many years exactly like Doc, and made the switch in '17. The system is absolutely fucked. ~70% tax rate (seed to sale), exorbitant licensing fees, land use requirements, unfair competition from the black market, etc etc. We've consistently harvested larger and larger canopies every season, and every year it gets harder to make ends meet. The annual black market flood came early this year and we literally had to shut down operations 2 months ahead of schedule and let 1000s of pounds rot in the field because we couldn't sell anything. Hard to compete with 400$ lbs when your cost of production isn't too far off from that...

@Flicka Flame Exactly. It's not so much an illegal marijuana issue as it is a human trafficking and associated crime issue. Out here in southern Oregon, the cartel will come to legal grow operations, threaten the growers and their families, and then will take over. All of this over a plant that the government has stigmatized to the point where people are getting killed over it.

Weed is recreationally legal in my state, but only medical patients can buy it legally. Large businesses like curaleaf, GTI/Rythm, and verano have majority of the market, and lobby against legal home grow for patients. I’m concerned that If the suppliers of these dispensaries aren’t already supplying the black/grey market they will soon, and I think there’s even less profit to be made here for dispensaries that truly care about who/where they source their bud from and want to see a safe, potent product be sold.

In Australia continuously increasing taxes on cigarettes, to reduce smoking, worked well for a long time. At that point the government loses the ability to regulate the market & the tax revenue.

After we received legalization, literally nothing changed. You can go to a dealer and get an eighth for 20 to 30 dollars, or go to some strange laboratory like dispensary and get the same amount of weed for 80- 100 dollars, and considering that most of these people are literally 15 to 25 years old, realistically nobody is ever going to do that, so they will just call up their dealer like any financially smart person would. What needs to change is our country has to federally incentivise using dispensaries and make them an actual viable option, therefore making dealers the obsolete and more inconvenient option, but alas, since the states feel the need to put so much taxes, their actually encouraging the use of dealers.

Just like every other bill California passes, the state missed the mark completely. The point of making cannabis legal is to ensure the safety and integrity of the grow in a market already oversaturated with black market product, not to bottleneck the industry to tightly that it is only benefiting those in political power who get a cut of the tax revenue.

A lot of counties, at least mine which is Kern County has chased away the legal shops. In Bakersfield there’s just a few legal dispensaries. They have made it extremely expensive and difficult to obtain a license for a shop. I live in Delano and there is not one dispensary within a 35 mile radius.
