Lol ... "Almost"
Naw, this is not a reg thing. You dont even know how many police departments there are and how few of these corrupt cops there are. All you hear about is the big cities and the worst cases. Your assumptions dont lead to any good so inform yourself before spreading bullcrap to other gullible morons
It should be illegal for any police department to handle corruption internally, rather than having a third party investigation.
And yet both republican & dem politicians kiss law enforcements' asses. Biden wants to increase police funding... Yeah, because giving more money to corrupt thieves is such a good idea 🙄 You're right. There needs to better oversight and accountability rather than flushing more taxpayer money down the toilet on departments rotten to the core with bad apples. If they refuse to clean up their act defund them.
@@AlcideIzMine Law enforcement and policing do serve an important and necessary role in our communities when done properly and within the confines of the law. The reality is police officers are just people, and they are only as good as the system that they work under and the training they receive.
If by "defunding" the police, you mean limiting their budgets so they don't have weapons and equipment that were designed for the combat zones in the middle east, then I agree. The solution to the problem with police isn't just taking away their money, it's making sure the money is being spent properly. It's making sure officers will be held accountable as individuals for actions they commit. It is changing the culture of policing so that officers will step up and tell the truth instead of hiding behind the so called "blue wall of silence."

My brother's brand new vehicle was stolen in Louisville. My brother called them multiple times to ask them if they found it. They kept saying, no. He eventually found out (after it was auctioned off) that they found it the very next day after it was stolen. Please do a story on this issue next. He has phone records proving that he called them multiple times to ask if they found it yet. They lied about having it, just to buy time to auction it off as "unclaimed property." The Louisville police are criminals. Attorneys even told him they couldn't do anything, because the Louisville police are so good at legally committing crime.
That is crazy! By chance do you about how long it was from the car being recovered to when it was auctioned?
A Hispanic man traveling in the south to a party with food and dog in his car was stopped the police decided the soup was drugs and he was carted off to jail no one knows what happened to his car impounded his dog sent to animal control he was kept for some time before the drug lab said inconclusive. This stuff happens all the time. The courts have supported illegal search and seizure because of war on drugs makes it easy for them to steal and then keep money for that police dept to use. The courts say prove it's your cash and how you acquired it. You want to talk about corruption? The media is the most corrupt institution in the world.
I agree totally. This is happening in California, too. The reason is clear:
Cops have one rule, above everything else: *_NEVER_*_ SNITCH ON ANOTHER COP!_
The so-called "good cops" are _just as guilty._ All cops take an oath to uphold the law. Did the "good cops" have their fingers crossed behind their backs when they swore an oath to uphold the law?
When a cop has a good reason to suspect that another cop has stolen someone's money or property, the "good" cop needs to *_ARREST_*_ THE PERP!_ ...even if it's another cop; _ESPECIALLY_ if it's another cop!!
Nothing will change unless/until that starts to happen.
It's hard to arrest someone a cop knows, there's no doubt about that. But as long as this keeps happening, police departments are nothing more than _organized crime_ groups that prey on the public.

When they send a letter with a list of what was confiscated, that money wasn't listed. They also took his prescription pain medication, that was also not on the list. They never gave anything back they took. About 4 years later, I finally got to tell this story to a federal judge. He had these agents investigated and found out that they staged "fake" raids to rob people. They had been doing this for years and were at last arrested and charged. It's not just a Louisville or Kentucky problem. Law enforcement corruption is going on all over 😠
These cops are incredibly corrupt. I live in Louisville and my nephew was in a motor vehicle accident in 2020. He was injured and before being loaded into the ambulance, an LMPD officer at the scene emptied my nephews pockets and ended up keeping $1,300 that was in my nephews wallet. We had a withdrawal slip from my nephew's bank and his accident wasn't even part of a criminal investigation but despite our complaints to LMPD and other organizations we never got the money back. I know it's not a huge amount but it was a significant amount for my nephew who was 22 at the time.
Wow
The majority of cops are corrupt. It isn’t just location based, it’s everywheres sadly.
Police used their uniform to steal money from innocent people not using body camera & not reporting.
Just means they cannot be trusted. Police commit crimes on par with the general public. Case in point: A cop got caught fondling a dead woman's breast. Yeah, I said that right. Type it in to google. This is my hometown. Clops have been doing this hardcore. Hang out in the West End. Looking for something to do or they create a situation for fun. Search you and take your possessions. If you are stopped and you have a really nice car, expensive, you're a drug dealer. No, that's pastor. They saw all of us through one lens even if say like a 20 mile radius, everybody works, kids in school, no crime has been committed, if you own a nice home you bought it with drug money. I've been gone from the Ville for 20+years. Came back to visit and saw 26 police cruisers show up to a fight that was over before they swarmed. Caught in the drive thru for 45 minutes. No arrest, citation, nothing. Just strolling around talking and trying to appear as something they are not. Plus I read about the thefts a while back. Typical. Had a cop friend tell me what really goes on. I asked why do you not tell and his response was "I didn't do anything. That's about so and so". What? Everyone knows who these people are and do nothing. They just want to hang on long enough until they do 28 and retire with a pension. The rapist boasted about destroying those women's lives. There are no good clops. We are nothing to them and the majority doesn't mind one bit. Oh, snap! They care about the opioid voluntarily ingested, but seem to forget what crack did. This is running too long, but the rub is that I am not surprised at this. It's expected.
bruh that's so wrong in so many ways.. I can't even imagine what your nephew must feel when he sees an LV cop car nowadays..

I will never forget the time when I was 19 and working at a gas station. A woman came in crying, and began to tell her friend who also worked at the gas station, all about how police raided her home. The woman was totally traumatized, her children were traumatized. Her elderly mother was traumatized. Her home, and all her possessions were ruined and destroyed. The police had also verbally humiliated her as well. Listening to her tell it, there was no doubt at all she was telling the truth. And to top it all off, they found nothing illegal in her home.
There is no home now
Probably had the wrong address.

Vice needs to go mainstream. This is real news and investigatory resilience we do not see anymore. Very well done !
this type of journalism is still around. It's in your local newspaper, not on CNN or Faux News, or those commentators you see online. If people would only understand that journalism isn't commentating, maybe we wouldn't have this ridiculous notion that reporters are 'the enemy of the people.' Real journalists are getting demonized, laid off and left with nowhere to work because private equity has bought up the failing local newspapers in order to suck them dry and make them close down. This is a major disaster for democracy itself.
Yes, it’s great journalism. Now, would you please consider the lies and violations and corruption in the Canadian Music Industry? They are hiding so much violence and crime, which started in the late 50’s and became horrific in the early 60’s-we need some truth about those bands and their side trips to the “cities and Canadian Mountains.” Thank you!
I agree, VICE does some great stories and I was happy to see they were nominated for quite a few awards for their work! Frontline PBS does some great investigative journalism too.
If you are watching it kid, it's mainstream.

If police ever want to be respected and taken seriously, they've gotta stop this crap! There needs to be a law that requires full transparency at all times by all LEO's, regardless of the department they're in. If you're a cop and you know this is going on and do nothing about it, you're complicit too.
I completely agree but they don't EVER want to be transparent with us! They ALWAYS want us in the dark!
It's a bigger issue than the police department but this goes all the way back to the queen I will put money on that that's why she's so quiet and she never really says anything have you noticed nothing about nothing it is like her people are afraid to say anything about her or else
@@toolguyslayer1 are you talking about escheating? that is a much bigger issue because everything escheats back top the queen meaning this really doesn't matter since it all ends up there even the cops possessions!
The same goes for high crime communities dude. If a community wants to be respected and taken seriously tey have to stop being complicit with the criminals in their own community.
or they just rename the unit something like CID and keep it PUSHING
Love your work.

in the US 3 month's of education and you are a cop! in Europe 2 years, and a background check as well a few mental test's, to see if you have some tendency, like loving to have power over other people eccetera, these tests are hidden so you don't notice it, and also over cops or superior have always an eye on you, to see if your behavior changes when you wear an uniform because some people can't handle this! that's a common problem, and the US hire a lot of former military and than only 3 months education and this are the result!
@@Ezekiel903 You say three months training... I'm wondering if that's a federally mandated, universal training program for ALL officers in all levels of the system. Because I am sure as heck not about to believe that every officer, in both state and federal levels are ALL equally trained... Even if only for 3 months! Does Europe utilize a singular police force (Like most of Canada, which contracts from the federally trained force aka: RCMP) or is it separated into different jurisdictions, levels or such (like the rest of Canada, who may choose to use a city police force or a separate provincial force instead of the RCMP)?

the only backlash against police are from the criminals and their family.. and most of them are scumbags, deceptive and liars..
@Yodi Gak Perpetuating a corrupt, structured system that refuses to hold police misconduct accountable is a choice. Race is not. If a good cop says nothing when he sees a bad cop abuse his power, you actually have two bad cops.
Yes, and not one time have I heard democrats talk about police reform. In fact when black republican Tim Scott tried to bring the police reform issue to the table during the Trump adm., democrats refused to work across the isle. Convenient, the woke excuse that Tim Scott is not a black man of value, and repeat violent offenders are the actual victims. The only ones democrats aren't concerned about are the victims of crimes, the small business owners, and their employees victimized, and the average citizen vulnerable to the increase in violent crimes by criminals with illegal guns in democrat run cities. Brazils crime rates have actually gone down when their current president made it easier for the law abiding citizens to gain access to legal gun ownership. Btw, I've never possessed a gun in my life.
We have been hearing these stories all our lives. But now everyone has a portable movie studio in their pocketses. So it comes those stories are true.
