Improving Your Neutral in SSBU: The Mindgame

- In a boxing match, both competitors have to box, you can't use your elbows and you can't use your legs, the matchup is boxer vs. boxer. Similarly, in a fencing match, you're using the same same type of weapon, you can't use a machete, and you definitely can't use a gun, the matchup is fencer vs fencer.
But in fighting games, there are a wide variety of matchups, some characters use their fists, some have swords, some can make the ground explode, and some are made out of noodle arms.
Why does this matter?

Such an underrated channel honestly. You give me Core-a-Gaming vibes with a hint of guide. I hope you'll go far in this youtube thing
SAME
I'd love to see a mindgames guide for each character that highlights their strengths and also what they should look out for in other matchups.

This channel is genuinely so amazing, its been so helpful for me. Ive been trying to fix my mindgame, as i felt like i kept autopiloting and didnt adapt to the situation
This video just made me realize how powerful Samus's new ability to jump out of charge really was. I knew it was good when the game was revealed, but I did not think about how it was the main aspect that allowed charge shot to dominate neutral.
As a Link main who plays against a Samus a lot, these kinds of mind games can get really hectic - if I approach from the air she fairs or up specials, if I run up she can mix up projectiles and grab, and if I stay back, her projectiles seem to beat mine. Of course I have my own tricks to disrupt that but it's still stressful lol
you guys are BLOWING UP! keep it up! PS -Skytoon your editing is so good!
Now that Steve has been announced, maybe you could make a character analysis type video when he comes out. Also, amazing content!
I get the feeling that this channel is going to blow up soon. Quality content.
It's great how you use the same music as core a gaming. Good vid
Sick vid bro
Absolutely love this video and explanation. As a Mental Performance Coach, I can tell you that you are hitting some good Sport Psychology concepts here. Subbed! Keep it up bro! 🤙🏼
Helpful for these tournaments man keep it up 👌
Those videos have such a great quality even tho you didnt do many guides I already learnt a lot thanks
Loving this content
Bomberman Hero music hit me hard with nostalgia, forgot how much I loved that soundtrack
Keep going bro I love smash mentality videos
This content is pure gold!
This was really helpful! Lately I feel like I've been in a terrible slump! Like I forgot how to play neutral somehow?😅 I guess after a month break from playing smash punishes and reading habits isn't as natural as it used to be! In my games I found myself playing reactive and generally less safe! It's really been discouraging but I think studying and reflecting on my play will help once again!
Man this is such a great channel, it's a shame you stopped making content
Really good Stuff
This is great
pogchamp
I get mindgames with every single character even matchups I was told are winning.
I main Jigglypuff.
So where does link fall. I'm a bit confused for him. He has nair,up tilt, down tilt, and forward tilt for the close game. He could also use those tilts in spacing And forward air for the mid range. But he has bomb arrow and bomerang to cover the far game.
You also have to consider the Matchup dynamic instead of looking at your character in a vacuum!
Link could be the defender vs Ganondorf, but will have to be the attacker vs Min Min for example.
@@yousuckatneutral8017 so think him more as a free flowing playstyle and try to adapt my playstyle to whoever I'm facing? Also love the channel btw keep up the great work
Do you coach?
We're going to try and set those sorts of things up some time in the future. But for now, we need to get some videos out. Thanks!
