This handyman would've checked the strainer inside the dishwasher. I've had the same service call and it turned out to be rotten meat stuck in between the strainer and water pump inside the dishwasher.
Look closely at the discharge of the trap on the end outlet waste ,it was not a gas tight seal, causing SEWER gas to be sucked into the house every time the air kicked on,all of the other issues on that sink would not have caused an odor in the cabinet.
Fellow plumber here that's insane with the way the plumber installed the dishwasher t on the horizontal it goes against the law of physics water will not drain uphill I'm gona assume that someone other than a plumber installed the drain under the sink maybe the homeowner great video
The problem was SEWER gas in the cabinet, the original tubular trap was to close to the trap adapter on the discharge, it was not a gas tight seal, was the main issue. I corrected that, there is no smell anymore in the cabinet, you my friend would have been called back on your simple assessment, thanks for critiquing me!!
OK so everything is clown did is wrong, I don’t know if he’s a licensed plumber or not where he is but if he was license whoever gave him that license should revoke it immediately, you need to prime your PVC number one number to the loop in the hole is coming from the dishwasher has to be as high as the countertop, so if the sink ever backs up and overflows before it runs back into the dishwasher, and I never checked the strainer on the dishwasher which is probably clogged full of shit, this is a basically how not to video

That toilet assessment was long. If a floor guy does it and not a plumber. They didn’t bolt it correctly and it’s loose. Pull and reset it. You have to sit on it to make it leak!
Should have put it in line clean-out. Those p-traps you put on are not drain cleaning friendly. I guess if you need to you can cut that long dirty arm put in a no hub band.
I didn't leak,I solved the SEWER gas problem and the homeowner loves me,I didn't get to 25 yrs.in business by screwing things up my friend, how long have you been in business?
Oh the great no primer before PVC debate was funny to read in the comments. Yeah, the connection won't be as strong since primer is committed. But the PVC pipe s not pressurized. And I bet ya the plumber who was hired by the builder used 10 year old glue and primer on everything when that house was built. So every PVC connection is janky AF. I've e seen more failures with thread connections than a welded bond of fittings and PVC pipe. With no primer used The thing that I have to be nick picky about. Never use harsh solvents when the clients are near. Ask them kindly to go outside for a bit and come back a few minutes while a fan pulls that air out of the house.
@@jeffreydolby9861we have to use purple primer ,which i do on everything under slab and in the walls. No need for two traps. Not a good idea to have the trap turn two 90 degree angles!! Should have went with the 45 degree you mentioned. Also, the electrical outlet box is not GFCI and should be above the water lines and drain in case of leak. He states "I never use primer" and "never bring primer into a finished house". Guessing he never works on pressure PVC or is concerned about code? There is a thing called clear cleaner primer. Duh!! While you where under there you should have fixed the half-assed copper water lines and angle shutoffs. The copper water lines are coming out of the floor so they should be straight with straight shutoffs. Also a separate shutoff for the dishwasher. One last thing, NEVER CAULK AROUND BASE OF A TOILET!! IF A TOILET LEAKS AT THE BASE (WAX RING), YOU MAY NOT SEE IT UNTIL IT IS TO LATE AND THE FLOOR IS ROTTED BECAUSE THE CAULK IS HOLDING THE WATER IN AND CANNOT EXIT.
Great job John. I learned that pipe primer isn't necessary and that pipe dope works well with these fittings and that two traps are best under the kitchen sink.
I took out one disposal and have trained my family to use the other one minimally until I have time to remove it: food waste doesn’t belong in the sewer, builds up gunk in your pipes until they clog and attract sewer rats, among other problems. Do as you wish, but do some research if you don’t believe me.
I’m not a plumber, but not using regular p traps is kinda strange. You did this job so people would have to call only you, I dont agree. I noticed the 2 different height sinks, where’s the disposer? The disposer has a place for the dishwasher, who fell asleep here? Jim PS…..I’m in the Chicago area and there is a single step glue for pvc, if allowed by code, it is Christy’s “Red Hot Blue Glue”.
Whats up with the 10 degree dishwasher T? Tape measure on your thumb is bent I guess. The money you get paid deserves a tape and primer even if it's clear
I've been doing it a long time,my eyes took a beating during 300 hrs of chemotherapy, it's easier for me to hold my thumb where I need to cut the pipe.when it comes to primer our code requires purple, but beyond that the first plumber i worked for doing new construction didn't want primer in million dollar house on trim out,I've been in business 25 yrs and honestly have never had to go back and repair a bad joint under a sink,I hope that answers your questions, all legit, thats how I do it! You're not supposed to caulk the back of the toilet in case it leaks from the wax ring you'll know and it won't cause damage to the floor or the wall
