This video is exquisite. Even the ominous hissing sound from the trap's house side cap didn't prepare me for that giant explosion of putrid black water! Once again, you made me jump back in my chair!!! The interior shots of the pipe were great as was the sound of that trickling water. And then the frosting on the cake was the ride home! Thanks Donald for another entertaining video, and more importantly the work you do to get these clogged up drains flowing again like a river!
Nice job, I liked the trip over the Whitestone Bridge. I have been over that bridge many times on my way to JFK driving a truck for TNT from Boston, keep up the good work!
Love your upload Donald. Great way to start my day. It was nice/different too goo for a ride in your work truck and see the city. Adds a new dimension to your content.
They say people love a train wreck, I guess that is why I like your videos. You are a champion of public health with the work you do. After a job do you tell people not to flush wipes down the toilet?
pits, bellow every floor/on top of ceilings, bottom of wall cavities. I can confirm typical construction/remodel work does just that, cleanup is always the end of the day rushing around to GTFO and that means sloppy easy cleanup (blast it all into walls/below floors/cavities) then there's the idiots that put it all into drain pipes and heat ducts!
A always thought the smell was like roses and flowers. Lol. You got it again bro. The American style is a lot different from uk but I’m addicted regardless NY.
Excellent unblock Donald, the colour of the wipes it must have been blocked a while, Thank you for the tour over the bridge great views, close thing approaching the bridge them orange plates flying off the wagon or been lying on road nearly hit the car 👍
Always enjoy the inside the plumbing view as the river flows through it . soon as my taxes return to me believe me brother im getting that hoodie like the one you had on in the video ! definitely enjoyed the highway drive at the end ! ! see ya in the next one. rob _south jers
Electrical wire, that's a new one for the Bragging Pile 😜 😉. Nice clean basement, though those stairs were steep. Brilliant outro, nice traffic negotiation. What bridge was that? Great work as always 👏, stay safe all. Thanks for sharing
Do you have any general machines? If so which cable is better? Spartan or general, or are they the same because i have a half inch machine wondering if spartan cable is better. Geeat content sir
No, but I've used a General Wire machine in the past, and I have to say the Spartan is a Beast 💪. I do have a Kinetic Water Ram from General Wire, which I do love and use, very costly but definitely worth every penny.
Hehe I just said a few days ago if you got something that smelled bad and you got a reaction of of this one. That was engine oil black. XD Sure had a mixed bag on that one. I agree with the level of the pipe and even that outgoing line almost looked like it was pooling a bit just beyond the camera. That's just gonna back up easily with more wipes thrown in that. Well....the wipes business keeps your business going too. ;) Great exit shot of the Whitestone Bridge. Usually cross that or the Throgs Neck Bridge when coming into Long Island if I needed to get there from Albany on rare occasion. :)
Hi Donald, Question: When you removed the first cap and there was no water, was there a reason not to send the snake through towards the other cap without removal to unclog the wipes to save removing the second cap at all?
It's quite difficult how stiff the cable is, the only way I'll go through the trap is if I have no other choice, and I usually remove both caps unless the homeowner doesn't want me to. Thanks for watching JMLH 👍
We have something called "trap jumpers" here in mass. You take a cable and break it in after putting a decent gradual bend on the end with the blade. After about 10 jobs, the cable is loose and easier for traps. The longer you use it, the easier it is. Snaking from a trap is never ideal. You can also use a "whip," which is a couple of ft of really lose cable to get you through the trap. The gentleman in the video could have also used a toilet augur and cleared the line back to the trap that would have cleared that as well. The way I was taught is you snake the outgoing line first just in case there was a clogg that pushed debris back into the trap, then clear the trap.
Seeing the first shot of that video made me want to run out and get a chocolate Shake Lord Almighty I don't know how you do it. Oh I do they're called Ben Franklin's. Stay safe man. Tony
Hi 👋 Donald wonderful job 👏 as usual gusher of 💩 the usual suspect wipes I guess people will never learn not to flush wipes but you will get the job done ✔ 👍 keep the videos coming have a bless week 😀 😊 👍
Wipes soap scum and house traps. A lifetime of work to be done for years and years to come. At least till the cast iron is replaced with plastic pipe. and then people will still need your services Donald. Good job and keep on making the trades greats again.

Great video Donald, those wipe's at it again, nice ride out at the end. No idea what the stretch of water is under the bridge where you was?..
Thanks again Peter 👍 it was the East River under the Whitestone Bridge.
@@NYDRAINS thank you for info.
I was hoping you'd turn on that Jacked-Up faucet!!!!
Lol, I couldn't resist 🤣
am i weird for finding this satisfying?
Not at all 😉👍
Why when you knock the outlet plug off, you don’t clean back to the inlet plug ? Instead of having the flood into the pit ?
Only do so if there's no other way. The cable is very stiff, and the old traps are fragile.
1:31 you struck oil!
Lol
As long as they make “disposable wipes” you’ll always have work….
Oh definitely.
Oh my gosh that overflow was weird in that area where you had the hammer and opened up the drains

Does the area get cleaned after so the smell doesn’t stay??
Usually.
1:29 POV I'm sitting on the toilet after my first coffee in the morning.

Wipes help keep you busy😊
Wipes, root intrusion, soap scum, construction debris, hair and a sink filled to the brim with and a gusher of POOPOO!
What's that song at the ending?
Lol, I'll see if I can get the name for you later today 😉
I use toilet paper not wipes if you still feel dirty take a shower
That's what I do.
I've never seen that much black stuff come out of a drain before, that was pretty cool... excellent job!! 🗽🍎🐀🌽🔨💦
I know right pretty gross isn’t it??

But where do you find those caps at
With water in the caps
It's easier for me, I do this all day long 😉👍
When you popped the cap up was that oil the black stuff?
No just old sewage that built-up for a long time, bacteria causing the color change.
@@NYDRAINS ohhhhh ok

Whitestone Bridge.
