    Great video!
    Any chance you could show us what's happening underneath? For example - how you are holding the wool strip, how your hook finds it, etc. It would be helpful to see how that looks.

    New subscriber here. I just found your channel. I've done some rug hooking, but not a lot. Your video is great for a beginner. You explain everything well. I'm gonna check out some of your other videos.

    Could you make a video of making an entire beginner pattern and maybe fast forward though the laborious parts but I need to know how close together the stitched rows go and why steaming et al. Please.

    You only need it 'drum tight' when using a punch needle. Many times having it a bit more slack ensures that the height of your loops are sufficient to hold.

      Thanks for the feedback! I find when teaching beginners, drum tight works best and you can loosen the tension up after you have the stitch down pat.

    What makes a primitive rug a primitive rug? What I’m asking is what’s the difference?

    • @loopbyloopstudio
      @loopbyloopstudio  2 года назад

      Thanks for asking! Primitive refers to the size of the wool you are using. Another term for primitive rug hooking is wide cut rug hooking. This is all opposed to fine rug hooking, which using a much thinner wool strips or piece of yarn. Hope that helps!

    When you leave that little first piece out like that, doesn’t it pull out? Is it safe?

    • @loopbyloopstudio
      @loopbyloopstudio  3 года назад +1

      HI Buddy, you trim the ends to the height of your loops when you are done hooking and those ends are pressed next to the loops so it doesn't fall out. The end result is surprising durable and sturdy.

    You keep saying 1/4" but the strip width and loop height look more like 1/2" to me. Is #8 strip cutting really 1/4"? Just asking because I would like to own a strip cutting machine.
