- We go for a morning drive in the newest addition to the Range Rover lineup, the 2018 Range Rover Velar. This particular one is the R-Dynamic HSE with most of the option boxes ticked. We'll find out if it lives up to the hype and its iconic name. Plus, is it a better choice than the Evoque or Sport?

The Velar is a stunning car. Too many brands add hard lines to make it look muscular but the simple curves of this car make it look muscular, capable and sophisticated.
Just bought this car. Same exact model. My wife has the Evoque. I think she's jealous now.

So thats a 4cyl with steel srings and it impressed him .... utterly brilliant. this Velar is a compelling purchase. I cant wait !

One of the best region the Velar I’ve seen. I’m in full agreement with your pros: the design inside and out is quite mesmerizing, up market and as you’ve indicated looks like a vehicle priced over 100k. After sitting in this car at the NYC International Auto show, I felt the “spa reference “ you made.
I drive 250 miles each weekend from NYC to the Catskills and back, the Velar would make it even more of an enjoyable escape!

Yeah most of that time in the shop lol. My wifes Velar is turning out to be a royal POS so far with a whole 3000 miles on it.

Phil, you left out a very important part about this great video, the back seats. How comfortable are the rear seats and how do they stack up against rivals? In my opinion I think it's one aspect that could be a deal breaker for most people especially if they have tall kids.

Great review, but i think the future of tech is with the Heads up display and not screens for instrument cluster and infotainment. The new Lexus 2018 LS has an optional 24 inch heads up display that displays virtually everything in the instrument cluster plus navigation with a wide screen map. That has to be the future with heads up displays getting more graphics with virtually all car information available on the windscreen. That would clearly never be distracting as you are facing the road head on. This velar is luxurious to say the least, but to get this kind of equipment, luxury and features one would have to spend close to $80k. That's really pricey i must say.
Land rover , has the name ' because of road ability , and yes many 'will not see off road work ... For Status it up there .. Well done Land rover ' the prettiest SUV .. Job done

Which one has the more quiet and smoother ride? The Velar or the Lexus RX?
That's a good question. I've driven both for an extended period of time and I'm going to say the Velar is smoother and quieter. However, depending on options the price difference makes the RX much more affordable.

This car is very beautifl and well advanced.But i was not confortable with seats.they were a little bit hard .So it talk me 6 months torn between HSE Verlar and BMW X7 M50d.Now m with BMW .

Land Rover for some reason seem to always have a woman all over this car for some reason. Maybe they assume men will fancy the sport over this🤷🏾♂️
