just bought a 21 plate velar. only thing i find a bit annoying is i keep hitting my head on the door top getting in, as a vertically challenged (5 ft 3 in) bloke I wonder how you taller people get on? or am I just clumsy!! love the video which lead me to my car, so thanks Corps Media,
Nice review, still deliberating whether to get one, it’s just the reliability with them that’s always at the back of my mind. Saying that, my wife drives a Tiguan and the issues with it have been endless. UPDATE: I bought a D300, R-Dynamic, black with black pack and fully loaded and I absolutely love it!
I am debating purchasing a Velar as well, but I am so concerned about the reports I read about Range Rover being an unreliable brand. That is very concerning to me.
@@dwightcosby6046 The only issues so far on my D300 have been from the main dealer who I bought it from but most things have been ironed out now. Fully loaded, Santorini black, R-Dynamic, black pack, retractable roof, deployable side steps, 22’ black alloys, black leather with cream stitching, Meridian sound system, air suspension etc, etc…
@@dwightcosby6046 The whole range Rover reliability is vastly accentuated. Land Rovers did have reliability issues up until about 2011 with engines and internals and have never really shaken off that reputation. Always take reliability surveys with a pinch of salt. They never mention what kind of problems the car has or where the sample audience is from. The infotainment system on the Velar on the old system had its fair share of issues with freezing but that’s been addressed now in the new pivvy pro system which is as good as any other brand. The cars are using solid engines and ZF8 speed automatic gearboxes that are found in other cars like BMW’s. The way people talk about it is like you’re going to die at the bottom of the road, it’s just not gonna happen any more than any other car. It’s become trendy to say range rovers are unreliable. You hear people talking about it having never been anywhere near a Range Rover other than seeing one drive past on the road! The only thing to take note of is that when you do have to do any sort of repairs or servicing expect a premium price, and their attitude towards warranty work I wouldn’t say is the most friendly. But the cars themselves are absolutely fine! Built like tanks. Join an owners forum and you’ll see the the vast majority of issues are absolutely tiny.
@@gfusion Thank you for taking the time to put the Range Rover reliability issue in perspective for me. I am really considering purchasing the Velar and I will follow your advice and join an owners forum. Once again, thank you!
Infotainment issue resolved on models after 2021. ie those with Privi Pro. Had mine 3 years no issues. All cars have reliability issues. I owned BMWs for years and they had problems. Media hype destroys brands and they don’t base info on any facts.

Get one that's been looked after an I doubt reliability would be an issue. Still my favourite RR and I've driven them all now

Very knowledgeable which made this video outstanding! (the sexy accent helped too!) Much appreciative. 😊
That's my dream SUV 😎
Love to get one but worry about the reliability and the infotainment software problem?!
