The Byrd Harrier 2 Wharncliffe is a very slim and light folder (2.7 ounces) that packs a lot of cutting power. It definitely punches above its weight class. Available in plain edge or fully serrated. USA Links to the knife and other similar items below. Enjoy!

Always good to see your reviews. I like your realistic rundowns and samurai like bottle slashing! I could never get them to cut clean through like you, despite my factory fresh spyderedges, but did use my endura back in the day defensively to save my life, and find that they are more suited to slashing than stabbing. Spyderco serrations are quite efficient versus any other brand, and only microtech rivals them. That being said I find that half serrated versions are more suited to self defense as the serrations set up the clothing while the smooth edge drives deeper with less friction. For those of smaller stature, women, a fully serrated edge can be tough on the wrists and may even break out of their grip during an intense maneuver. I nearly broke my wrist with a cold steel 3v tanto, because they dont have the weight or the edge geometry of the originals, and are not suitable for slashing unless you have a powerful upper body. Thanks for listening bro. Ive been with you from the dorky beginning to your current stealthy form, and find you to be a kindred spirit! ⚔🇺🇸🦅✌🏻

Oh nice, I got the hawkbill version but didn't realize they'd done a wharncliffe version. Gotta pick one of these up

The Byrd hawkbill is fantastic. I’m sure the new wharnie is great too.

I agree, Spyderco has some of the best serrations in the game. Victorinox also does a great job, their "wavy edge" paring knives are beastly slicers.

The Byrd Rescue knife is fantastic in the garden (although I wish they’d remove the dumb choil). Their 8cr steel is pretty good too. Decent edge retention and actually quite tough (I fixed my hawkbill’s bent tip with pliers).

I have one of these in a hawkbill. Byrd's a great knife for anyone looking for quality on a budget.

I love Spyderco knives. Have a few but don’t have any of the Byrd line. Going to have to wait till September before I can start buying knives and airguns again unfortunately. Just had to have some muffler work done on my car which put me back nearly $600.

That's rough, but together we will take back all that we have lost! (LOL I always say that to myself when I have a setback like that).

Weirdly enough i like byrds serrations better than spydercos; the pattern's wavier and spaced out so a sharpmaker can get into every scallop easier. I guess you could say thats because Byrd rounds off the teeth a bit more, but I find that translates to really smooth slicing. My cara cara is currently a bread knife 😂
