I like the minimal lock bar access of the GB2. Fits the intended use of the knife. Great selection, thanks!
Military is way underrated . Wish they would have more variations
They have a Military2 now with a compression lock, it's like a PM2 XL.
That was a great video. I am just starting to learn about Spyderco and your video helped a lot.
This channel is underrated. Great video!
Thanks 👊
The Dragonfly is a work of genius; a brilliant blade coupled with the most original handle shape, capable of punching way above its weight…K390 maximizes its cutting power.
Don’t agree about the PM2, but respect the opinion.
Thanks for watching
Word
That’s generally why it’s his list as he states…
@@sprinkleddonuts6094and the guy respectfully disagreed. Why are you getting involved?
@@Ian-Omega why’d you chime in 🙄
If I had to literally pick a video for you to make, this would be it exactly!! Fantastic as always!
I’m happy to here that, thanks for watching!
@@itsaknifestyle8482 Keep it up 👍 I love my Spydercos, and have the black dlc coated CTS-BD1 Manix 2 LW that I actually pre-ordered when it was released years ago. Now your videos are gonna make me buy the Spy-27 version!
Great list. Can’t go wrong with any of them.
Just a awesome Video! Thanks for sharing that with us!
Thank you for your delightful Top 10 review. As a Japanese fan, I find the development of Spyderco's product line very interesting. I have a smock and an amalgam, and I am also impressed by the corporate culture with an avant-garde way of thinking, such as Spyderco incorporating and manufacturing those designed by individual designers. I think that the feeling of being attracted to that charm will not change.
You have excellent reasons for each choice. I am a big Manix2 lightweight fan. I have the s110v blade. It's great but a little chippy.
However, you don't have my Spyderco fetish knife, the Chaparral. I have the carbon fibre and the frn versions. This is the best knife for me. It's from the Taiwan factory and has excellent fit and finish. It is probably the most slicey Spyderco ever. It is a backlock and doesn't have that awful for lefties compression lock.
The frn on the Chaparral is the best quality frn Spyderco has ever made.
If you had the Chappy it would replace easily a few of the knives on your list. It's only 2 ounces.
My view is that Spyderco make great knives but that they charge for them. Whilst I would like more, I stick to the Manix2 and the Chaparral because they cover my needs.
I live in Europe and the longer knives are a no go.
Excellent review of your collection. Great job .
I used to really despise the looks of spyderco but now it really grown on me the looks and everything, I'm looking forward to getting my first spyderco
Great list…love the Manix 2 in the xl….just fits my hand the best.🤛🤛
The only knife on this list that is on mine is the PM2. I'm a big fan of all the Marcin Slysz knives, so they would all be on my list, plus the Yojimbo, the Canis and the Mcbee. This just goes to show how deep the Spyderco catalog goes.
I warmed up to the PM2 years after buying them. The pm2 appear to be too fragile to me particularly the tip. I started to carry one in k390. With daily use I began to trust the blade and enjoy the fact that it's got pillar construction and a comfortable handle. The para 3 and the PM2 get a lot of time in my pocket. Thanks for the video much appreciated 😎👍
One thing I want to make clear is that I still like the PM2 as a knife. I would be content if that was all I could carry. I just think there are other spydercos that are done better, and when I say this it comes across like I’m trashing the PM2. Thanks for watching!
Have u tried the Manix 2 or Manix 2XL? They may have the size to overcome your fears of falling part... I have a sprint run Manix 2 with brown G10 scales and black DLC m390 blade. I can't believe what that knife has gone through. Absolutely amazing.
PM2 is indestructible. I’ve beaten the holy F out of mine and it just keeps asking for more
Spyderco just released a salt version of the PM2 that has Magnacut steel. Thing is a beast I love mine
really enjoyed your thoughts & perspective, thanks !
Thanks for watching
@@itsaknifestyle8482 sure thing my friend, have a great weekend !
My Manix2 lw, Kapara and Sage5 lw are my favorite knives. Interesting video!
I need to try a kapara. From what I’ve heard I bet it will become one of my favorites. Thanks for watching
Good list and good points!
Keep up the quality content buddy🤟☮
Thanks for watching
Just picked up my first Spyderco knife last week, and I went with the Manix 2 LW, in CTS BD1N steel, and I am really loving it so far. I can barely tell I'm even carrying a blade it's so light. And I really dig the shape of the blade. I def recommend it. Think im gonna go with a Benchmade next, either Gryptillian or Bugout.
Welcome to the rabbit hole. I hope you enjoy collecting and using your knives.
I would have picked the GB2 as my #1 out of your collection too. It's a highly optimized slicing blade with a classy look. I do wish the handle was contoured but they can always add that in on the GB3 if they ever make it.
Your collection is missing a Kapara though. The Kapara is the #1 in my own collection. It's an ergonomic dream with atleast 3 different grips and as someone who does the majority of their cutting in the kitchen it's the second best Spyderco I could own. I think you'd really like that one if you ever got to handle one.
#1 on my list is the Pacific Salt 2, great knife at a size and weight that I really like.
Manix and para military are my fav! Love the content
I wanted to like the manix 2 but having medium hands it just doesn’t work great for me. If I just grab it and try to flip it open I fail a lot since my thumb just forms to far enough. I can still slow open fine just now the fast flip. In order to do it I have to shift my hand up higher than what feels normal.
Thank you for this Awesome video.
Nice presentation. Very informative.
Im new to Spyderco and bought a few budget Spydercos but I ordered a Sage 5 g10 and cannot wait for it to arrive.
Nice all the sage series knives are great
Great video! I'm currently on the fence right now thinking of which Spyderco to get. Thinking of the Manix 2 or Smock, not a big fan of the PM 2 or 3. It would be my first EDC knife so I'm not rushing on it. This video gave me a lot of things to consider. Thank you!
Did you figure it out?
Pm2. Is the edc king. ✨️.
Go ahead and buy everything else. When your back around and have a pm2 in your hand you'll remember me. Or not.
@@jesusofamerica he said he doesn’t like PM2 and para3
I’ve been rocking the police LW w k390, but also love the military and native chief. Picked up a chief in m390 off the forums looking forward to aging that one too.
It’s good to see an honest user review. And I really love the pm2, far above the manix2, though I really love the native 5. I’d say it’s my favorite edc
The native is awesome. So simple and useful. Thanks for watching
Like to carry one knife for a longer period as well. Makes you bond with it more.
The Military is a good one, the liner feels so different to many liner locks, the Socom has that slight stick, which i still like, although people hate that.
The Pm2 needs an update. I am thinking about 3D contured scales.
The Stretch with straight spine should be always in production. Very underrated knife i believe.
I need a socom in my life. And a stretch. I feel like I’m at a point in my knife hobby where all of the knives that I want are out of stock😂 Thanks for watching
@@itsaknifestyle8482 The Stretch with the straight spine was always hard to get. I feel you man, it took me 10 years to buy my first Socom. It´s a completely different version now haha. But i am dedicated when it comes to grail knives.
I've been using an Endura combo blade for 30 years now as an EDC. Still sharp as a razor and working fine.
Definitely got to add a Delica to your collection. That and the dragonfly are some of my favorite Spydercos
I have the DLT exclusive delica in 20cv black blade. The police 4 lightweight in vg10. The Endura 4 in zdp189 & The bow river in 8cr. I sold all my spyderco's but missed them so much I went off and just bought 4 new ones.
Those are some good ones to have. I like that they arent the standard PM2, para 3, and shaman like most people have. Thanks for watching
For some reason i always grabb the military. Even if it is tip down and a little big. And the Dragon fly is so underrated. Its awesome
My favorites are the Manix 2 XL, Amalgam, and Sliverax. Great Video, Bro. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
My top Spyderco's that i own are: Endela Emerson, Autonomy 2, UKPK, Spydiechef. I have xxl hands so the handle ergos are my most important factor for knives. The PM2 handle is a bit small for me on the ergos, now that the military 2 is out ill be picking one of them up.
I really wish they’d make the Native Chief with a compression lock. I’d grab that up in a split second.
Great video! How would you rank the stretch k390 now you have it?
I would really like to get myself a Techno 2, I love the blade on it.
this video deserves to sit up with the heavyweights in the knife youtube space. you hit all the great points and even brought up some new things ill have to think about. a new knife enthusiast would not go wrong deciding which knife to buy based on this list
I appreciate it man, that means a lot. Thanks for watching
I have been carrying the Gayle Bradley 1 for years. CPM-M4 is great I skin and butcher 4 to 5 deer a year with it and it holds an edge.
The Military has better action than the Socom. Bradley2 is one of my favorites as well. Looks like the Spydiechef is next, you're gonna love it.
Funny you say that, I just ordered a Spydiechef
I don't mind tip down at all. My Bradley Cutlery Alias 1 is set up that way. My Manix 2 lightweight is comfortable in my hand in one position. Otherwise it's a little small. I mainly bought it for the Maxamet. I prefer my XL, but, I hate the scales on it for the same reason you do on the para 2. Just too squared off. Going to look for some more comfortable scales for it. New subscriber.
Very good list! You are not wrong about the PM2. At this point it’s for the guys that don’t use their knives, they just need to have every sprint run. Spyderco makes a model for just about every taste. Your collection just keeps growing!
I love the police 4 lightweight. I got it from KSF for 122 and change. I think the police 4 has the largest blade of any spyderco.
I thought about buying that, but I figured since I already have the mille and the native chief I didn’t need another pocket sword😂
Sage is my favorite I would love sprint runs with micarta and s45 maybe
After A LOT of sharpenings I can say the basic s30v manix looks and performs better with use. If you sharpen accordingly you can give it a straighter grind that works because of it’s profile. Cant say the same for the pm2 which is probably why they decided to make a separate wharncliffe variant
I love the Native 5 LW
Glad to hear you still like the GB2. If you were located in Europe I would send you my GB1 to play with, test it and make a comparison.
I appreciate you thinking of me, I’m actually looking on the secondary for one, so hopefully I’ll be able to do that video soon.
Huge fan of the Native 5
Only second to the Spydiechef in my collection of Spydercos
I need to try a Spydiechef, I feel like I would really like it. Thanks for watching
@@itsaknifestyle8482 feels really nice in my hand
Couldn’t pass when I saw Blades WeLove anodized custom
My top spydie knives: spydie chef, stretch 2 K390, native LW LC200n.
Love my Kapara! 💪
The Sage series has a method of model release. It based upon locking style.
Nice list, but somewhere I'd find room for an Endura, any my overall favorite...Shaman! Of course this is your list.
Great job with the ranking. To the point, well & thought out.
Thanks for watching
I used to carry a military and lost it while moving cattle on horseback, it still hurts loosing that one it was a gift from my grandpa, the last couple years ive been carrying a crucarta pm2 in my right pocket 👌
I know the feeling I lost a PM2 and had it for years 🤦🏻♂️ thankfully purchased one with a little better steel… but doesn’t replace sentimental
I thought PM2 was number one lol I was like "Yeah, that makes sense." 😂
I myself have the Native 5 LW with an MXG deep carry clip as my EDC.
The Native is so good, I plan on getting another sometime soon. Thanks for watching
Enjoyed the video. I don't have 10, I only have 5. 2 PM2's (1 CPMS30V , 1 CPM SPY 27), 1 Endura 4 FRN (VG10), a Pacific Salt 2 (LC200N)and a Bill Moran drop point fixed blade(VG-10). Yes I like Spyderco, and the fact that I live 20 min from their factory outlet does not help.
Do they have good deals at their factory?
@@samoliver9132 yes they do.
I agree with you on the PM2.
I bought one and returned it that same day I got it. Great blade, but really don’t like the way it feels in my hand as well. The G10 is too rough for my hands. I’ll stick to the Shaman.
(Also, love the Sage 5 lw for light duty tasks)
hey buddy , love your spydies, you wish they were cheaper, here in the uk say the native chief s90v would be another $100 more than you pay, count yourself very lucky my friend.
I love all my spydercos but if I could only keep one it would probably be my para3 lw. It's just so insanely lightweight and compact 🙂
My favorite two Spydercos are the stainless-handled Dragonfly and the Lil Native. Both are perfect EDC knives. I do wish Spyderco would offer more Dragonfly models with G-10 and upgraded steels. $110 seems a bit high for a knife with only VG-10 steel, 😅and I am not a fan of FRN.
Does spyderco still make the Gayle Bradley 2? Or is it secondary only knife now?
Like your video and I agree with you on the para 3 lw choil grip, the level of thumb and forefinger comparatively feels odd, like the knife is artificially keeping the forefinger and thumb too far apart. Still a nice knife but that’s the facts.
That’s a big reason why I prefer the native and sage 5 over the Para 3. Thanks for watching
what is better g 10 steel or cpm cruwear? I can’t find a answer
for me Para 2 is one of the best knives ever
Manix 2 in m390 is my favorite blade I own
Try the Sage 1 Maxamet, Stretch 2 K390, Gayle Bradley Advocate CQI M4, Kapara 20cv, Smock M4 or S30v, Police LW K390, Tenacious LW S35vn and Caribbean Lc200n.
Spyderco I like best is my Canis I rate it higher than my PM2 Yojimbo and Gail Bradley 2 also just got Para 3 lightweight that I got today
Does Spyderco make a liner lock, flipper knife and the Spidey hole knife?
Which knife would you recommend for a budget, small, lightweight, around 3in blade, and with a good handle? I’m looking to use this more for self defense
Small feldspar?
@@TheAwesomenessist thank you!
@@TheAwesomenessist What do you think about the rat2 compared to the small feldspar?
I enjoyed your video...
FYI Blade Show 2021 Tickets went on sale... Yippee
I think I’m gonna go this year for the first time, I’m exited
@@itsaknifestyle8482 The "early bird" ticket is worth it. Cost $25 also try to get a room booked. (they sell out fast, to save $$ you are likely to be able to share the room)
Para 2 is #10-?!??! Blasphemy!!
Doesn't fit your hand? 🤔 You may need a hand transplant😝
I'm a Benchmade guy myself I own 16 of them I've always kind of stayed away from Spyderco thought they were ugly but I'm fixing to get my first one I want to go high-end to give it an honest chance what would you suggest I do like axis locks
Deadass serious…was reading comments and saw this. Get you a Spyderco Magnitude, Peter Carey Design. You will absolutely love it. You’re welcome.
How can you have an honest top 10 best, when you have only tried/own 10? Anyway I really enjoyed your video and you should re-do it after you have used 20 or more Spydercos. After that the GB2 may still remain your #1! It is such an under rated knife because it isn’t fidgety, the recessed scales and tight access to the liner lock (which I like for safety). For actually cutting and using it’s hard to beat!
I had many the old versions including dragonfly 1, native 2, mini manix and para. They are all fine, but none are my choice.
Manix lock but a Native size would be my GRAIL knife ... I think ! ! ! !
But a Gayle Bradley is the one I will most likely go with .....
Im trying to get my first spyderco with a small budget, knives in Norway is normally alot more expensive
You sir just made an enemy for life! 😡 Just kidding, nice video! Thems some fancy Spydercos. Cheers from a swedish knife youtuber 🙂
Nice video. Sizce daha büyük bir çakı mı yoksa taşıması kolay pratik bir çakı mı? Thanks.
Have a para2 and a karahawk... the latter apparently a knockoff. Thank you for this video.. im looking to get a "2nd" spyderco and found this
I really need that Bradley
You do! If your struggling to find one I see them pop up here and there on the Millie/PM2/P3 Facebook group and the Spyderco Sales and Trades group. I will also repost them on my Instagram story if I see it. Thanks for watching
Try the Shaman. You will be surprised how comfortable it is.
I did the same thing to my pm2 with a ceramic rod
Why would anyone care whether the pocket clip is tip up or tip down?
Try a Shaman and the sleeper of them all - Smock
I need to try both of them. Thanks for watching
Have you ever used a zip tie in the hole of the blade for instance unsheath? Greatly appreciate your knowledge. Army Ret. 34yrs.
The pocket draw is lightning fast and consistent, highly recommend. Check out the 5x5 exo-ccessory for the pocket draw attachment to the spyder hole
My two favorite spydercos are my crucarta shaman and manix 2…both of those are just 🤤
I will, however, completely agree with the dragonfly and the sage 5 lw. The dragonfly is kind of a “cult following” knife…most people either hate it or love it. I just happen to be in the latter. But the sage is an amazingly overlooked model. The fit and finish on mine are spot on. It’s a great size/shape and it’s unbelievably comfortable. I think it gets overlooked because on a surface level, it’s the most middle of the road, generic spyderco. But even still, it’s a dead perfect “middle of the road”.
I've been a knife enthusiast a long time. Bought my first gen Endura around 1994. Still one of my favorite Spyderco's. But tbh I've moved on from the brand. I prefer tools with a more neutral grip and that is not Spyderco. And their trademark Spydie Hole and leaf shaped blades makes many of their popular designs wide in the pocket. Personally, the lightweights are Spydercos best knives. But Chris Reeve nailed it with the Sebenza. The knife is made for work and built to last. If I could only have one knife thats the one. Sorry Spydie fans.
Spyderco blades are usually a face only a mother could love, and take a little getting used to. But Spyderco does have a few models that are outliers as far as looks go and are some of the best looking blade blades I’ve ever seen like the Gayle Bradley 2, the original Slysz Bowie, the Paysan. Some very good looking knives IMO.
Cool video and thanx...I never was really into spydercos but being in last 6 months really started liking chaparral and want wood scales and have 2 dragonfly s yellow and green g10. I want the para 3. Take care.
The chaparral is one I’d like to try out in the future, it seems like such a good little sliver. Thanks for watching
Heck yeah
HECK YEAH BABY
I know this is old but I hope you still have that Manix in XHP.
Still got it still one of my favorites thanks for watching
Actually ZT does make 4” models that are extremely light weight like the Military.
Good list _ Myfave didn't make it tho- Carribean ! or my second- Shaman.
Love the military, the k390 police and the cts-XHP native chief. awaiting the military w compression lock to arrive.

TECHNO 2 SMOCK CHIEF NATIVE
I dont have the budget to get a knife collection this large.. what with 2 kids and a 3rd on the way. No chance, what I did get tho was the Spyderco Endura Zome. Hope it fills all my dreams since the kids are a disappointment.
I personally dislike wire pocket clips. I’ve lost so many knives snagging on something due to them, and I always end up bending them. I used to have and LOVED my dragonfly, but alas that was another victim of the wire pocket clip curse…
I love my military
